I'm about to make the jump from Oreo to Pie.
I would like to know which 9.0 currently has the most custom feature included. If it's also quite stable it's a plus.
Searching around the 9.0 roms threads I narrowed down to Nitrogen and MSM Extended.
Any pros/cons for both? Or any other suggestion?
Also I would like to ask if I should stick with stock rom kernels (which i suppose is MSM one for Extended rom, dunno for nitrogen i suppose LOS) or if there is a better alternative.
Thanks
I'm currently on HavocOS (first time ever) coming from stock oxygenOS and LineageOs. So far its been really good. In the settings is a completely new Tab with 18 extra categories of customization.
Use havoc. a plethora of customizations and bonus points for being stable and smooth af

hi i own a mi 4x as a backup device and currently its on PixelExperience (non-treble) ROM. I have to use the device for several days and i would like to flash a Treble ROM. So i dont have alots of time to test various ROMs. So what im asking is kindly point me some most stable Trebelized ROM. i dont mind its weather 8.1 or 9.0. i wanna use a stable ROM.
Thanks
I hope you are referring to Xiaomi Redmi 4X if so then go for DOT OS 2.4 or HAVOC OS both ROM are based on Android 8.1 are much stable and have decent battery life. (haven't tried them with custom kernel but have learned that they give good battery life with it)
Android Pie based ROMs are quite good too but they do have bugs but can be use as for daily use ROM.
I am currently using official HAVOC OS 2.0 based on Android Pie it does have bugs too but they aren't major ones.
Sorry for the off-topic, Oreo Havoc OS is not on XDA, correct? I've searched and couldn't find it, only Pie version. Is this the Oreo version you mean @metelhammer?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/havoc-os/files/santoni/
Yes, this is the official Havoc OS download link.
Havoc 2.0 is based on Android Pie which is -> Havoc-OS-v2.0-20180903-santoni-Official.
All other old zips are based on Android Oreo.
As for now only first zip is Android Pie and all old builds are Oreo ones.
Later they should be named as Havoc OS 2.0.
Everything clear, thank you for your help!
Do you find Havoc 2.0 stable enough for daily use?
Your welcome ?
Yes, it is quite good for daily use certainly it has bugs but they aren't major ones.
Compared to Android Oreo based Havoc OS it has less customization but that's totally fine considering it is first build.
I am using it since when it released.
Battery life is quite decent not that good, I get around 6 hours of SOT and I haven't tried any kernel with it so it might give good battery backup with it.
On mobile data as usual like all other custom ROMs battery life isn't that good.
ROM is smooth though and can be use as daily driver.
Thank you very much for all the info @metelhammer
I've tried Havoc 2.0 last night, but my microphone didn't work, so I went back to Havoc Oreo, everything fine for now.
I think I'll just wait for a stable enough Pie build, can't wait for it though :highfive:
Microphone didn't worked that's strange, it is working fine here.
No problem I am too waiting for future update, cheers!
I have tried most roms on redmi 4x. My recommendation is Lineage 15/14
Hi everyone,
I have had a Google Nexus 5 and a one plus 3, so the experience with MIUI feels strange.
I have tried with china, global and Xiaomi EU ROMs.
I have seen here in xda a ROM call pixel experience
I wanted to know your opinion about the best option.
And this pixel experience ROM does anyone know how much time takes the updates from China ROM to be in this one? Will it work on android Q beta?
Thanks!!

MIUI is very divisive, I'm on the hate it side.
Pixel experience, as the name suggests, is a modified version of the Pixel phones ROM. So it will be more to what your used to. Personally I've never tried it, as it has too many Google apps baked in for my liking.
There's the Lineage ROM, which is also very close to a stock Android feel.
Finally, there's the Resurrection Remix ROM, which is based on Lineage but cherry picks from a variety of other ROMs to give much more customisation and features.
In time there will be a more ROMs arriving, quite possibly an Oxygen OS ROM.
All of these are based on AOSP, so have no reliance on the stock MIUI, other than for the vendor images. At the moment the dedicated ROMs are still in early development and have a few issues to iron out, mainly flaky FP sensor performance, but are stable enough for daily use.
There's also GSI ROMs too. Though these have a few extra issues over the dedicated ROMs. I'm using the Havoc GSI and the small number of issues with it don't really affect me (except the flaky FP sensor, which isn't too bad to live with)
All of these ROMs will want an official ROM installed first, before flashing, to ensure the correct vendor image is installed. I wouldn't recommend installing over the Q beta ROM directly.
Thank you very much!!! Your explanation is really helpful??

This guy @Robbo.5000 knows what he's talking about! Listen to him! Personally, I'm waiting for the OxygenOS rom considering that I've previously had a Oneplus. MIUI, is a hit or miss, in my opinion. That being said, I can live with it till the time a stable OxygenOS arrives. Best of luck!

I am in love with pixel experience ROM!!
No errors until now and the great pixel experience.
Hi folks,
I just bought Redmi K20 pro(indian variant)
I am going to unlock it's bootloader soon, already familiar with custom rom and stuff was using havoc on op3t before,I just want a custom rom with some features, should be stable and updated frequently (once per month is okay for me),Any suggestions are welcome
I've installed evolution x, works everything smooth and a lot of customisations. Give it a try.
None are completely stable yet and I don't think any are at the level before the move to Android 10.
I prefer my AOSP ROMs to come without GApps baked in, so my recommendation is Havoc. Seems the most stable to me, though still not at the level it was at when it was 2.x PIe based. Go for the @alex9yust developed version, currently the best and most actively developed.
Thank You Guys!
I have noticed pie roms drain a lot less battery compared to 10+ roms.
As i made already good experiences with xiaomi.eu pie, id like to try a few custom pie roms aswell.
Unluckily the most stable ones are down.
Maybe someone can share latest android 9 pixel experience (official), aicp(official), los ?
Thanks.
good luck
I am tired of jumping from one rom to another due to constant issues. Some roms have bad battery, Some roms are so buggy, Some stop receiving updates, Some roms don't have the useful features. I want some kind of Rom suggestion that has proper updates, Stable and good battery backup. (Anx Camera if possible)
@Hehe_boi I’ve had good luck with PixelExperience (13 plus edition, which has some extra features over the stock PixelExperience (and real Pixel) ROMs) in terms of updates and some truly helpful features. It also has good battery life IME
I can suggest Cherish OS which has two versions vanilla and gapps
or if you prefer gapps versions only i can suggest evolution x which is a good stable and customized rom
or maybe pixel as @traman124 said but i did not try it before to confirm

Wait for a stable EliteROM. It will give you the best MIUI experience you can get, and the MIUI camera is supposed to be preferred. I avoid the weekly updates... bug city! I currently run crDroid 9.x on my daily driver RN11, though. crDroid is based off Lineage yet requires the MIUI 13 (not 14) firmware to be installed first.
