Try closing all your recent tabs. I wasn't able to start on my selected homepage until I did that. Now it works as it should.

That's odd, a new tab opens my home page. Maybe clear the cache on the app?
Yeah same here. All my new tabs open up to Google, no matter what I have my home page set to. Now if I hit the home button, it goes to my home page. But just opening a new tab, opens up to Google every time.
Why do I have Telekom page on my default page? I didnt buy my note 9 from telekom.

This is because the browser default page and/or the bookmarks can be made persistent by the vendor configuration in the ROM. Unfortunately without rooting and tampering with the XML file, I am not sure how to fix this aside from using an alternate browser.

Hey there,
My HTC Desire had the option where I could turn off Mobile View and get the pages shown just like I would had I sat at home from my PC. But is that option not available on the 2x? . I generally detest using mobil view and prefer the full on view at any given time.
But so far I am at a loss in regards to finding that setting on the LG Optimus 2x, considering its not a browser setting that I can select or change. But has anyone stumbled over this and found a working solution?
You should be able to do this with hidden menu, and or with another browser.

If you write about:debug in the address bar, press go, and then go to the browser settings, the UAstring option should now be available.

I tried that one and it didn't work. Some mobile sites still threw me to their mobile view edition when I used that. But apparently using HiddenMenu and setting it to Mozilla changed the issue entirely
Correction,
Neither HiddenMenu NOR about:debug will allow me to view sites like Engadget in their normal editions, but forces their mobile view on me with no way to change
And Mozilla for Android still throws me to the same site.
Use Dolphin HD.
If its another browser then I am not really interested :/. I would prefer a solution that works with the native android browser. HTC could make such a setting which WORKED. Im baffled why LG opted to keep that setting out.

I totally agree with out. However, using another browser is the fastest solution right now.
Setting the user agent to desktop in the standard browser using about:debug should work but does not always as you experienced.
I just don't see how it will work in another browser when both the Native one, as well as Mozilla Firefox web both fails with a bang?

Doesn't work either, even if different UaStrings set through its settings . WHY oh LG WHY have you messed it up so that we can't watch webpages like we can do at home instead of being forced to watch mobile view >_<
So far the only solution is to basically visit the sites, and try to find the "link" on site to change it from mobile view to regular view and hope its saved in a cookie so it keeps the setting :/

Read my post thank you!!.
As previously stated I have already tried installing Dolphin as well as Firefox. Tried every sodding profile there was, Android, iPhone, Desktop etc and NONE of these made Mobile view vanish.
Even tried about:debug as well as HiddenMenu and those don't do the trick for me either.
The ONLY thing that seems to work is going to the sites and manually clicking that I want the regular site. But then its not the browser doing anything, its cookies that does the talking which somewhat defeats the purpose. I mean on my HTC it was a simple checkmark I had to remove and it just worked. On my LG it seems like its an insurmountable feat to actually get regular PC view and get rid of mobile view the "right way"

I cant's say I disagree with that. It makes no sense to be honest, ie why it wont work on some LG's and how HTC has been able to make a "switch" for it that actually works and doesn't require you to do the cookie route.
yeap,
I've test too and Mobile View can't is disabled but some website check is the visitor send WAP information, and with the debug mode, some WAP information from the Browser are sended...

Good news
The Samsung Note 2 has a great S Note application where one can write notes and add pictures on there along with Audio Notes. Is there something similar to this application that is available or can be added to the HTC ONE? Is there one that comes with it or is there a way to get one similar to the one that comes with the Samsung Note 2 on there?
Instead of just having a basic note application where one can just types notes with no pictures or no audio. Anyone here able to help with this?

Evernote is an application that requires you to save everything on their server. No privacy this way and you have to upload and download everything from them every time you need something. Last but not least they charge you for storage space and you do not have the option to only keep info on your device only if I am not mistaken. Would prefer an application just like the one on on the Samsung Note 2 called the S-Note.
Thanks for your input though

Permissions and privacy invasions are like that of Evernote. That Toggle sync pretty much gives them control over turning and over riding your sync options meaning if you turn sync off they can turn it on and sync if they want to.

Yeah SNote syncs with your Samsung/SCloud account so everything is saved on Samsung's servers.
EDIT: S Note's permissions :

The only permission it isn't granted is 'Sleep with your wife/significant other' then?

No, because he wants the tab to open in the front when it opens, like in Dolphin browser. What you said had nothing to do with the OP's question.
On a side note, if you opened the tab a while ago, and been in other apps, you need to fish around in your recent apps to find the tab, it is much easier if this "feature" is turned off and you can choose your tabs in chrome.

Well you did indeed say launching new tabs
That's just the way Chrome is and has always been, even on the desktop version. If you right click and open in new tab, it doesn't automatically change to that other tab.
There is currently a way to do it: when opening a link a new tab, there is a brief white flash on the lower half of the screen; quickly tap it, to open the new tab.
Edit: eff me, maybe not... I am sure this was working yesterday.

Holy thread revival Batman!
I have recently seen this bottom.page pop up asking to make page mobile friendly. I have the desktop site tab on. How can I stop this from happening?
Shut off the desktop site tab.
I was not clear. I do not want the webpages in mobile form, so I want to that pop-up to be disabled.
Oh you were clear. Shutting off the desktop tab is the only way to eliminate that prompt.

Agreed, new "feature", could help on image heavy page when only need read text.
I noticed it only appears when at very top of loaded page and disappears when scroll just a few lines. It will reappear if you need/want it by scroll back to top.

Strange as Chrome claimed via Plsy Store to be last updated August 1st. I just flashed a new version of my ROM with an older Chrome, and I do not see the pop-up. Really wish it would be turned off.
Best guess: this is a server-side change on Google's part. This would explain how it could pop up now despite Cbrome not having been updated since August 3rd. It would also explain my receiving the prompt on the astronomy picture of the day site with desktop mode off. APOD doesn't have a mobile version and its pages are dominated by its astronomy photos, so I get prompted.
You can do this to disable it:
- Navigate to chrome://flags
- Search for text "Reader Mode"
- Change the setting of "Reader Mode triggering" to "Never"
Well color me blind. I didn't think Chrome for Android had chrome:// support, which is why I gave the answer I did. I personally got used to that popup, but it's good to know it can be removed, so I did.

Glad to be of some help on my first post to XDA ever. But to be honest, i found the solution on google and this thread at the same time. Don't know if i need to credit the source where i found the info. I'm not a developer and don't know if that is a proper thing to do.
Crediting your sources never hurts.

Nope, under Settings>Advanced Features>SPEN >SPEN Remote, there is a section called "App Actions". You'll find the following apps under it with options to set actions against a single click or a double click of the button on the SPEN:
Camera
Gallery
Voice Recorder
Chrome
Powerpoint
We can set to scroll down pages on a single click and scroll pages up on a double click. Very useful feature but I don't see any option to set the same for the Samsung browser!
