Ok I thought there were only 3 different Mate 10 pro models ie; L29, L09 and A09 but....
I came across this China version BLA-TL100 that actually has more USA supportive frequency bands then the L29 Version.
But... What about updates?? Is it better then the A09 version?
I also saw that the TL00 version can be flashed over to L29 version but not sure of the benefit of that but I'm assuming cause of the L29 being first to get the updates...
Am I assuming right that even though TL100 version is flashed to L29 that it will not effect the frequency bands at all correct? (Meaning the T100 having more bands to begin with that those bands won't change if flashed to L29....)
Here is the link:.

Also can TL00 version get play store and VoLte? It supports all the T-mobile LTE bands except 71, which most phones don't anyways

I've been doing some reading of the LTE bands on the various versions of this phone, and according to pdadb.net the VTR-L29 variant has the most LTE bands.
I can see some sellers on Aliexpress with AL00 / TL00 hardware flashing L29 firmware on them - my question is - does this unlock the bands to the full set that L29 has? Or should this not work like on Qualcomm devices?
Hi,
as i cant find any information - but looking for buying a p20 pro here in europe - is there any difference between the CLT-L29 and the CLT-L29C? Why did they sell some as C Model?
thx
regards
Thomas
hmmm help
C version ia s dual sim one.
but the CLT-L29 too
I really don't know, where and why this "C" has started. Maybe those folks are just too dumb to read and do copy and paste?
When looking at the true package photos on Ebay, there are only CLT-L29 and CLT-L09 Dual and Single SIM devices for sale in Europe. Even when the headline shows "L29C".
Maybe a China version
Chinese versions do only have a different region code *and* device name, AL00 and AL01, I guess.
I think it is a copy'n'paste error spreading like a virus. In Firmware Finder, you can read that EU firmware is CLT-L09C432B120a. C432 is that region code, B120a firmware version.

Exactly this. All CLT-L29 models are dual SIM and CLT-L09 are single SIM.
CLT-L29C does NOT exist
People are so paranoid
FCC Documents show a CLT-L29(new) and CLT-L29 (before) and they added 2CA carrier aggregation on bands 7, 38 and 41 on/around 1/24/2019 and moved the SAR sensor to the bottom side of the board.

Can someone explain to me where the different P20 Pro variants are from? I'm not talking about the L29, L09 and so on, but about c432, c652 etc. From what I've read one the forums so far, I reckon the L-29, c432 version which I have is the "best", however I haven't received the 131 update yet (I'm on 120) and that kind of worries me. One last question: my P20 Pro is brand new and after I inserted my SIM card I got an update (obviously from my carrier) named DT. GRC 8.1.0.4 (CT) (my current last installed update is CLT-L29 8.1.0.120 (C432)). The changelog is "-Optimized network interworking - essential and recommended apps" I don't really want to install it because it will apparently install bloatware from my carrier, but I'm confused about the higher version number (8.1.0.4 vs. 8.1.0.120). How come it is higher? And if I do install it will I continue to receive c432 updates as they are released or will I have to wait for my carrier to roll them out?
There is no best variant. The version are devided by World regions. The 432 is the European one. As for the update you got its from your network provider. I got it to too (DT. GRC 8.1.0.4 LT) but after I have received the. 128 version.

I don‘t think .131 is officially out yet. I have not seen an official changelog so far and most people that have it seen to have flashed it manually. so relax, it will come when it‘s ready.

So I have to install this update before I am able to install 1.28? I also thought about it before but I was hesitant to do it as the update from my carrier has (C150) at the end which probably means that after I install it my phone will change to C150 from C432 and I don't know the consequenses of that (my main fear is that then my carrier would have to approve updates before I receive them which would delay them even further). But if it is the only way I can be able to install 1.28 and any later update then I guess I'll do it.
P.S. I said C432 is the "best" because I see that anyone who wants to rebrand does so to the C432 variant so I reckon there are some advantages to it (like receiving updates quicker maybe?)
C432 it's the most common version around the globe. In order for an update to be compatible with your phone, should read c432. You can't install other than 432.

But I literally have it resumed right now because I accidentally began the download. I mean how would I even get it on my phone as an OTA if it wasn't compatible? My question is, after i install it will my firmware change from a free one to a branded one?
*EDIT*: I found the below really helpful article which I thankfully understood thanks to my knowledge of German. To sum it up, it basically says that it is natural for P20 Pro users to get an update from their carrier as soon as they insert a SIM card on their phone. It may appear to be a different firmware version (like in my case which was C150), however the update will only install a couple of apps from your carrier (which you are going to be able to uninstall anyway) and that it won't interfere neither with how quick and the way you receive updates nor your device's firmware variant. Here is the link to the article: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/huawei-p20-pro.3297/faq-branding-beim-huawei-p20-pro.876843.html
I think it should be pinned somewhere as I believe it would help more people because I've seen plenty others wondering the same thing
Can confirm that right after I installed the carrier update, version 128 was made available to download and the phone remained as C432. Problem solved, thanks Android-Hilfe.
In my case I receive the 128 first and after that the provider update. Now I'm waiting for the 131 or 132 update that's being released for c432.

Any news on whether anyone has received it yet as an OTA?

I did a thread on this...

Hi. I saw online others with P30's and mate 20's getting updates in the US by; Changing region on phone or hicare (support app), but more commonly using a CHINA SIM CARD.
I have not found any P40 posts, so I bought a China sim card. amazon.com/gp/product/B00YILRXKM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It did not work for me. My model P40 Pro ELS-NX9. (other models ELS-AN00, ELS-TN00 (China) ELS-N04 (Global))
I read of others who just inserted the sim card and waited 10 minutes while connect to wifi who got the update (p30/mate20). That did not work, so I even tried changing my region in my phone settings and the hicare (support app) to Hong Kong and even United Kingdom. The China sim card and changing to 2 other regions did not work.
My EMUI software version 10.1.0.122 as of 5/27/20.
Version .122 has been available in China since April 20th and version .123, .124, .126, .127, .131 have been released from April 27 - May 20 for ANA-AN00 & ANA-TN00 models. .huaweiupdate.com/huawei-p40-getting-the-latest-emui-10-1-0-131-update/
I saw a global version emui update (ELS-N04 (Global)) for .123 or .124 but can not find the source again.
TLDR; China Sim and region changing did not work for any of the 5 updates currently available in China with my P40 Pro ELS-NX9 model emui .122. I will try a few more times and try to update this. (any ideas??, or anyone try with the global model, please message below)
EDIT................. CHINA SIM DID NOT WORK for EMUI update on Huawei P40 Pro (may try again in the future).
USA got .134 last night on C636 ELS-NX9 model. (sadly it wasn't 135 for the optimize scene focus/battery)
For the past week I have been trying to; change regions, use a China Sim card, and using hisuite on PC. None of it worked. I enabled auto update over night a few days ago and then last night 1am June 12 it just popped up normally.
I'm also model ELS-N04 on .122 in Australia.
So what region are we?

GSMarena lists that as ELS-N04 (Global), so Global version. I have the ELS-NX9 which my ebay seller had listed as the EU/UK version (uk charger).
So the AN00 and TN00 (China) gets updates 1st. Then I guess N04 Global (according to a global update post I can't find anymore), and lastly NX9 (EU/UK?). We are still 5 updates behind! and they are all camera updates : (

Sorry I meant to say ELS-NX9 and I was told it was AU version

I went to the Huawei au site support and found the els-nx9 model but
consumer.huawei.com/au/support/phones/p40-pro/
But then I clicked the buy option, then went to au Amazon and found model #ELS-N29
amazon.com.au/Huawei-ELS-N29-P40-Silver-Frost/dp/B086HXDGYB?ref_=ast_sto_dp
So maybe there is a specific au model but gsmarena doesn't list it. Maybe the Amazon listing model number is wrong and nx9 covers both au and eu/uk.

I recently discovered that the VOG-AL10 firmware version of Huawei P30 pro has some restricted features like not allowing Google Pay services. I've tried doing in app purchases in apps but they always fail no matter what.
I really don't know how to change the firmware to the international version and any help would be appreciated please.
That has to do with the version of the phone. The firmware it's the same but P30 pro l29 model has dual sim.
