WiFi hotspot (tethering) doesn't appear to work on at&t Go-phone pay as you go. As soon as I upgraded my SIM card to my family share plan, now it works. It wouldn't even attempt to turn on. The screen would just blink and then nothing... WiFi speed is definitely top notch. My home WiFi 5g will download large files in a blink... downloaded a 90mb app in less than 2 seconds...and installed it in less than 5. crazy fast. 2.5g I got 60mb/s. YouTube streaming 4k videos, doesn't skip a beat. Even if you turn the playback speed to 2x, neither the wifi or the phone stutters. Overall, exceptionally better than my last phone, that was only a year old.

I have the lenovo pb2-670n version. I live in Italy. I am experiencing severe troubles with all networks but, being that this phone has been created for chinese market this can be acceptable with mobile networks (3g, 4g).
I cannot justify the problems with all the other networks: WIFI (continous unhooking), GPS (!!!). I don't use bluetooth a lot but for the moment it seems like it's the only protocol that is quite stable.
What is terrible most is the behaviour of GPS. It seems like the software layer dealing with it or the sensor got stuck without any message (and this is the problem! You are unaware of it). During navigation (e.g. Google Maps) your position and orientation start to scatter because the system has begun relying on wifi instead of precise GPS. You have to switch off and on the GPS to make it works fine again. The same must be done when you start the navigation for running or biking (Google Fit, Strava, etc.): if you forget to do that, and WIFI is off your trip will not be recorded correctly.

2.4ghz signal strength is improved over my OG Pixel, but the 5ghz reception for me has been significantly worse to the point that I can't use 5ghz in my home with this phone as it has to be much closer to the router than my OG pixel which I can go anywhere in my house with. Anyone else experiencing the same?
Using speedtest.net on 5ghz, downoad speeds on my Pixel 2 are about 20-50% slower than my Nexus 6P.
I've been noticing a lot of drops with 5ghz where my old Nexus 5x has been solid. Lately, it's been from the next room over from my router. I've switched over to 2.4 and will test that out over the next few days.

If it's on a 5GHZ network it will always lose connection if you aren't close to your WiFi router. That's how 5GHZ just works.

How profound, you also lose connection to 2.4ghz wifi if you aren't close enough, that's just how it works!
However what is being said here is that the 5ghz reception on the Pixel 2 is not great. At a range where my OG Pixel and laptop are both showing around -68dbm signal strength the Pixel 2 is showing -80dbm and can't hold a stable connection to 5ghz. I doubt there is anything wrong with it and most likely this just boils down to the design of the antennas and case. The 2.4ghz wifi strength seems to be slightly better than my OG Pixel.

On the phones I am using WiFiAnalyzer app from VREM Software to get signal strength information. There are lots of others available in the play store. I have a wifi analyzer application on my desktop as well to read out the dBm values for networks from my laptop.
I concur - 5GHz WiFi lacks range. 2.4GHz WiFi appears fine, though.
5 GHz Band has a smaller coverage area than 2.4 GHz. It has nothing to do with the phone..5 GHz band is the better one to be on. It has more non-overlapping channels which means less traffic assuming you don't pick a busy one. 2.4 GHz band only has 3 channels that don't overlap.
Like with the 5X and the 6P.
Pixel 2 starts with 5Ghz when I reboot the phone and minutes later change to 2.4Ghz and never come back to 5Ghz until the next phone reboot.
This is happening even near the router and in a small house that have 90% 5Ghz signal even in the most remote areas.
The 5Ghz traffic is also pretty low in the area compared to 2.4Ghz which is more crowded.
The router used is an Asus OnHub and both SSIDs have the same name.

We have a pair of Ubiquiti UniFi AP-AC-Pro WAPs at opposite ends of the house to provide decent coverage throughout (long skinny house with solid internal walls). My Pixel 2 always connects at 5GHz using 802.11ac and stays connected at 5GHz using 802.11ac, and the UniFi WAP controller software shows that the phone connects at a TX rate of between about 500Mbps and 900Mbps depending on distance from the WAPs. With the phone about 10m from the nearest WAP, if I run an ftp server on the phone and use an ftp client on a PC to copy a 1Gb VOB file up to the phone and then back down again, I get a throughput of around 55-58Mb/sec (440-465Mbps) in either direction.
I suspect a lot of the problems reported are due to the generally poor quality of consumer-grade WiFi WAPs.
Same here! My pixel 2 wont connect to the 5ghz network unless its near the router. And also WiFi disconnects automatically frequently. Any fix for this???
Haris, that depends on your wifi signal. If it's strong, the phone is defective, and you know the "cure" for that. If you're going through anything large and conductive, or noisy - a refrigerator, a microwave oven that's running, 5 walls, etc. - that's the problem and you have to get some signal to where you are. (I could never use anything on my deck, which had to shoot 2.4MHz through a microwave to get to the router, when the microwave was running. the only "solution"? Wait.) Now, in a larger house, with a more centralized router, no problem anywhere. No problems finding a clean 2.4 MHz channel, so I have 5MHz turned off.)

the wifi has a hard time to reconnect after sleep/lock . I have to leave the wifi ON all the time if i don't want to wait a long time to reconnect to wifi.
Anyone else has the same problem ?
disconnects all the time.. my xperia z tablet.. (sgp321 ) is more trust worthy than it.. sigh....

I reply to my own post in case of someone else have this problem. The not reconnecting to wifi problem was due to my tp link router. I got a new d-link and the tablet reconnect right away.

My phone is having issues with calls only on the WiFi, cutting voice, tried so much to get support but nothing so far, and with the 15 days I can't just waste time.

wi-fi speeds for me are much improved over my oneplus 3. I was seriously thinking my ISP was overstating their DL speeds when they sold to me. My package is 350/20... Couldn't be happier. Not only are speeds maxing out at a good level but they steady too with no dips.
Doesn't matter where I am. Bedroom, living room, toilet... the wi-fi on this thing is awesome. On my oneplus 3 the link speed shown was 433 and I was getting an average of 280Mb/s. Now the link speed is 840-something at upto 397Mb/s.

I've noticed the wifi connectivity is reduced. For example, sitting in the same room as my router, I have full wifi. If I put my arm or leg between the phone and the router, I lose about a third of connectivity. Strange.
I have some connection issues with some access points
100 Mbps WiFi, gets me 20mbps speeds on this phone. 88mbps on the poco f1, 68 on the Samsung note 8. I installed WiFi bonding magisk. Now it's at 58mbps.

Either one of them, doesn't matter, it's the same. Did multiple tests, multiple different times. But like I said, using WIFIbonding module helps loads.
WiFi is very bad for me on Android 10 (OOS 10.0.0). It disconnects every 5-10 minutes and also the phone Is overheating. Has anyone faced this issues? Any fixes?

I typically refrain from taking dumps in my bedroom, but otherwise the wifi strength seems good. Haven't had any issues with it so far.
How is call quality on gsm? Is VoLTE working?
If I compare it with my previous phone ( Samsung S8+), GSM quality is slightly better.
Wifi strenght is good, but I do have some problems here. If I go outside in the back garden, I still have wifi signal, but when I come back in the house, it needs some thinking until it starts loading a webpage again( it just hangs for 20-30 seconds). Probably it moves from one wifi band to another and it's not very fast at it. Never had this problem with the S8+.
