For those that have HTC HD7 some did notice that if you connect the device via jack to car radio, speakers or just headphones volume is quite low.
It seems to be either software bug or EU regulation of some sort.
If you start a game, I used monopoly while playing zune music, you will see how loud is loud. Have your headphones connected and you will also see it does not distort sound.
Yeh, I noticed this too, but it seems kind of like that all over, the games are very loud through the phone speakers compared to music too, and again without distortion.
They were going to introduce max music volume level in EU so that young one's do not loos part or all of hearing. Do not rememeber if it went in or not but it seems HD7 is applying to that rule. Video and games are loud music is not.
Hi!
I have an really annoying audio issue, I hope there's a solution.
Background:
Being an insomniac I use my phone w. in-ear-plugs (Bose IE2) to listen to audiobooks and watching videos until I fall asleep.
I bought the Note for the big screen and the awesome hardware audio/video support, and just for trying something new, (I've been using iPhones since it's first release but felt like upgrading from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 4s wasn't worth it) so the Note is my first Android phone.
The Problem:
When playing audiobooks, videos and music at low volumes it's like the phone ”auto-mutes” when the source audio have low volume or total silence. Then there's a click or a static and a very short delay when the audio returns. It's really annoying when listening to i.e. audiobook where it's much silence, like between sentences and sometimes words.
It doesn't appear when listening to more moderate volumes, just in the bottom 20% of the volume slider.
I've tried a bunch of different players... it's all the same. Doesn’t matter if its a local file or LAN.
Gingerbread 2.3.6 XBKK4, not rooted or anything.
Anyone know of a cure for my phone, or a good sleep-therapist....
I link my phone to bluetooth to play audio through various devices and when I get a notification the proper sound plays seamlessly through the bluetooth medium. However, a squeaky and completely distorted version simultaneously plays from the phone itself. It sounds a lot like Cousin It from the adams family...
Does it do this for you folks?
Could it be a bug in trickdroid?
I've done a lazy fix by just putting the phone on vibrate when I'm listening to tunes but then I don't get any notifications...
Hi There,
Just a week back, volume on my headphone while listening to media was fine.
I don't know what broke this, I downloaded some apps and updated lot of already installed app and now the volume while listening to media is TOO LOW.
Couple of other interesting facts
1) when I choose any song from google music(stored in my phone library), for a fraction of second the volume is loud enough, but immediately it goes real low.
2) Another interesting fact, some one shared a song with me via bluetooth and when I play that song directly from bluetooth directory then the headphone volume is fine. But if I move the song to Music directory and pick it from google music, it gives the same issue, mentioned in point 1.
Can anyone guide, how can I debug this?

Do you have some auto-levels setting on someplace that levels all of your music to the same volume? You may have to search around for it.
well, no auto level setting anywhere.
Also, I didn't find any option like that in settings either.
One more observation today, low volume problem occurs only in case I select a media file from music player(google, I'm using default), however if there is a playlist I'm listening too and when the next songs plays the volume becomes normal.
So, for the time being I have a workaround but I guess some upgrade has messed with volume level.
I have the same issue, have you found any actual solution?
Hi,
After getting my MOTO X back from a repair and with up-to-date Android 4.4.4, I suddently got the same problem: the volume is first high, then it goes down by itself, no matter from which source.
Have you found a real solution for this?
Close any chrome tab, maybe is a video in the background.

Hello!
I have a problem with my new Xiaomi Mi 8. I would like to confirm if its only my device doing that or other devices too. Its running Android 9 with Miui 10.2.3.0.
When I set the lowest possible volume (not muted) the static noise is louder than the sound coming out of built in speaker or earphones connected via jack. It is pretty noticable even when the sound is set to high and there are e.g. silent parts of song. It does not matter which app I use (youtube, spotify, default music app). When I connect my bluetooth headset everything is okay and the sound is clear.
For testing purposes I am using song Kaleo - Way We Go Down. I find it most noticable there. The song even breaks and stops playing for a few milliseconds in the begining. Can you guys somehow test this issue and reply here with the results? I want to see if I am the only one having this problem.
Btw when I connect my earphones to my 4 years old iphone 6 the sound is crystal clear.
Thank you.
