GT-i9000 bootloop - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm not a developer so sorry if my questions sound basic but I much appreciate your help.
I have a big issue with my GT-i9000 (which works well until now).
It gets into boot loop - when trying to start up it doesn't get through the screen GT-i9000 (every time goes black screen and so on).
I read various discussions here that indicate it could be a bootloop issue that I can fix with Odin and certain fix file that I can't find active source to download it (most of the posts were a few years back).
Also I'm not familiar at all with Odin, adb and other similar softwares and terms, and certain explanations here sound very complicated to me.
I don't want to go through such fix process and to found out later that all of the media files were deleted.
Can you please instruct me how can I fix it at the most simple way (again, I'm not an expert)?
Also, is there a possibility to copy the media files that I have in the phone to my computer and to somehow bypass the loop issue? (without going through Odin etc.)
Anyway I have another phone so if this one will stop working but still I can save all the files I can live with that (of course I prefer this phone will also work).
Many thanks in advance!
Thomas

Any response will be much appreciated!
It's urgent, thanks.

[Q] Failing to flash on the actual phone, not odin.

Hey guys, first post. And well, as the video said, I'm a noob!
So I've tried two different guides, but am currently trying to implement this one in different ways.
Now, I do all the steps in order to get the phone connected, which it finds and is successful. I was trying to install the firmware as a single package. Which on the program(odin) side. All goes well.
Now the issue is, which I can't find on the forums or with google. Once the phone boots itself up during the process and the firmware is sent to it. On the screen for a moment I see some debug looking text scroll. It shows 2 folders system/ something. But I can't quite make out the rest as it does this very quick. Regardless, I think it has something to do with access is not allowed? So it quickly skips that and the phone boots up normally. So nothing is installed, and the normal firmware with all the bloatware is just loaded back up.
Odin then just waits a few more minutes and passes it. But obviously nothing happens.
I tried rooting the phone, which was successful. But it didn't help me in attempting the above method again.
I've attempted with odin as well doing what the above guide states as well here "If archive contains only <filename>.tar.md5 select it as PDA and OPS as OPS, leave other fields EMPTY". But in doing so, adding the file to the PDA section, odin reports it's an invalid image type. Then seems all good, but I'm worried in doing it this way, in case I end up bricking the phone.
I been trying to install the firmware "S5830XWKT7_S5830OPPKS6_S5830XWKT3_HOME.tar.md5" Which is the 2.3.6 Australian one.
Any help would be appreciated as to why it's failing on the phone end of things. As the program does seem to issue to use, as it does successfully transfer everything in the first place.
Thanks guys,
Myth.

[Q] Installing CM for dummies

Hi guy,
I'm a little bit upset. Since 2-3 month, my phone was a little slow and with a lot of bug. Before changing it and because I had the idea since a long time, I want to try to custom my phone with Cyanogen.
I looked a lot about mobile but i never put my hands in, so I'm not very familiar with all vocabs and different concept. So I tried to find a simple tutorial to do it.
This morning I decide to try to do it and I begin with the CM tutorial: Install_CM_for_galaxysmtd
As soon as I begun my phone doesn't have Download Mode (with Home, sound down and power button) and I am stuck... I begun looking for some solution to get download mode (I saw an other method with command line but I saw that we could brick the phone...)
And there I found a lot of different forum but nothing simple and complete (I don't understand how we could lose download mode or root from "flashing"...)
So if somebody could help me step by step to customize my phone, I will be really greatfull. I don't plan to understand everything but if I could it will be a bonus.
Thanks in advance
Guillaume
check ur fone first n make sure if ur got i9000 or 9000b or M110S or anything else

[Q] FULL restore from another device - need help with g-sensor

Hi!
I have problem with my i9070. All starts with auto-rotation problem. It works only for few minutes on new system, or till I will turn on move functions. Then my g-sensor freeze. On GPS-status it shows nothing - no magnetic field, rotation, acceleration. When I start searching google about this problem I found that all HTC have similar problem (like this ) I tried to use that tips on my phone and figure out what's wrong. Unfortunately Samsung don't have files like /data/misc/AK8973Prms.txt . I start research and found files /etc/calib.dat /etc/sensor.dat /etc/param.dat wich seems to be related to the g-sensor. I watch how these files look like when g-sensor works on fresh system, and how they look like when g-sensor is corrupted. Again unfortunately nothing happened - the same permissions, the same values. Then I started to flash different roms, different kernels. I have 2.3.6 than 4.1.2, than back to 2.3.6 (by this tutorial ) than again 4.1.2. Than I installed this Kernel. My auto-rotation works for an hour without move functions (the best score). Now it's corrupted again.
I have a guess, that it's the driver faults, calibration problem, or sth in /etc folder. I'm not a dev, I can use terminal, give you all data I have. I wipe my phone hundreds times. One of my solution is to copy ALL data from another device (I don't know is it possible) and watch what happens. Maybe with this tools.
What I should do? Please help me, I will be very grateful!

Just know this - NEVER FLASH FIRMWARE FROM OTHER PHONE. You will get not just problem with sensor, but with everything.
And other thing, files that work on other phone will not work on our. You can copy/paste those file but it will mean nothing.
If it work like you think, we would have CM10.1 long time ago...
And you tried it with lot of software, you do not think it is some hardware issue? You have warranty?

[Q] ****URGENT****Please Help

Recently, I have recovered from a bootloop when trying to install an older stock Android for my SM-G900A. I now have the original, UCU1ANCE 4.4.2 Firmware. I flashed it through a stock OA1 Kernel with Odin 3.09. Here's the issue.
I need all the help I can receive because I am desperate at this point.
[PROBLEMS!]
1. With my sketchy way of installing an older version, I triggered Knox which keeps telling me to reboot my device, but since it can't repair it on it's own, it continues to give me this error no matter what I do.
2. I've already tried to do the procedure where you Backup all info through Kies, format device, then Recover, but for some reason I can't even connect my device to Kies, it keeps telling me my device is not supported, I've also tried everything in that area to fix it. Still no luck whatsoever.
3. When I try an OTA update, it downloads, tries to install, but when it returns to the home screen it continues to tell me that the process was interrupted by something and it could not be installed.
[OTHER BUGS]
1. Every time I reboot or turn on my device, the WIFI does not automatically connect. It is my personal network and there's no doubt it should work.
2. Camera. When I open the camera, the color of the picture is dilated. The colors that should be where they are, are instead randomly scattered about the image, making those (what should be colored) areas black and white.
As I said I am in desperate need to find these things fixed. I can't find any solutions online for these. It seems like I'm the only person in the world with these problems, and it's not fair. If anyone can give me a solid solution, I would love you forever. THANK YOU.
[OP] Photo of Camera Issue
Here is a photo of what I mean by the Camera color dilation. Demonstrated by a couple of Multi-Color Expo markers.
Download the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar from here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712464416
Use Odin 3.09 and flash in AP slot. Once it is done then take the OTA for NG3 then OA1
Thanks to @muniz_ri
Tried it once before. It didn't work, ended up with a bootloop after flash of NCE.

*UPDATE*
Fingerprint scanner does not work anymore either. Camera fixes itself if you change a setting and put it back.

Thank you for helping me with my problems. I did realize when I came back to the forum a couple of hours ago that my NCE download was only a kernel and not a firmware. I flashed the link provided and voila! It's fixed. I hope others that may have this problem can use this guide as an example. Because let's face it, you're living on the edge with an Android.

Help Recovering Data from Screen Broken Moto G5s Plus

Hey Guys,
My phone's screen got broken a few months ago. I remember I tried to recover the data from the phone but I hadn't enabled USB debugging prior getting it broken and had a really hard time trying to find a solution. I indeed realised that I can flash a Custom Recovery through Fastboot mode (I can access them, even without a screen. Intuitively and thanks to adb.) in order to log into the Custom Recovery and then be able to perform adb commands to pull out the data from internal memory. It seemed fair, but I just couldn't get it to work, given the fact that I also had no visuals of what I was doing, even though I followed correct steps. My question and help I need from you, is:
- Has anyone stumbled upon such inconvenience, and if yes how did it turn out?
- Could someone please tell me if its even possible to execute adb commands through a Custom Recovery in this phone, and which recovery would that be? (a redirection link/download .img file would be very appreciated)
- Recall my memory by telling me the basics of going to fastboot and after flashing the Custom Recovery, going into the CR from there. (Since I have no screen and its been quite a while, I don't remember the commands, button combinations of this phone). A video representation example would be greatly appreciated.
I really do not have a lot of time now, and I want to get the data back from the phone, precious photos and memories, and I can't have the luxury of time getting through the process alone with no proper guidance, so any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you!
