hello everyone

CyanFox Sony Xperia V - Tsubasa

Just two words... Absolutely Fantastic!
Afer being a CyanogenMod user for many months, the only usable version for me was 10.1.3 RC2. After trying all existing versions including latest CM11 nightly. All had some issue or another.
Then I tried different modified stock ROMS (including Rizal Lovins's modified JB4.3 leaked version -which is close to being one of the best ROMS out there), but none have the fluidity of a CM based rom.
Last night I gave a try to CyanFox, after all, the Tsubasa version was requested by myself. And they did deliver.
What an amazing Rom, love how fast it is and how 98% of the apps I use on a daily basis work perfectly.
I have only found a few issues, but I can live with them.
- Battery life is not as good as with stock rom, but it ain't that bad either
- Camera doesn't let me change location of photos, no option to select external SD card.
Anyway I automatically send all photos to Dropbox, so it doesn't bother me that much.
Having said all this, I strongly recommend everyone to give the rom a try.
You can find the links here...
http://www.cyanfox-rom.com/
I do recommend using Mr Rizal Lovins Z1 keyboard ports, they are a lot better than AOSP stock keyboard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2196653
Good luck
And I thank all you amazing creators for the excellent work you are doing, my wife doesn't understand how I can fiddle for hours with my phone, but I'm sure you do, and I have to thank you for the great effort you guys put into all this!
:fingers-crossed:
The website isn't very clear about the benefits of this ROM. Would you mind explaining a bit?

Its based on CM11, but with more 'extras', and so far its working really well.
I got from play store a Z1 theme for Cyanogen, plus Rizal Loving Z1 keyboard and it just works as it should. No FC's yet at all (and strangely it is based on a nightly version of CM11.
I also tried LG Cybershot camera that was ported from Rizal Lovins (fantastic work in all he does). But the CM stock camera works really well and fast. So I'm happy with the stock one.
Best anyone can do is try for themselves. After all, we all have different opinions and views of what we need on a phone.

Guys, don't forget you'll need the Gaps from CyanFox for it to work properly.

How's it if comparing with Rizal's KK 4? The only two issues with are random reboots and battery drain, just as the CM11 nightly

How good is the stability when the phone is stressed? like running game and have gps on? Like ingress?
Instability is the only reason why I am on stock based rom.

I haven't got any random reboots yet... so it is a bit more stable.
Battery drain is high, but last night when I woke up only went down 3.4% per hour, according to Better battery stats:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
So when not in use, its not that bad... with stock I would get in sleep mode between 1.5% - 2% per hour.
But the rom is faster and more configurable than stock.
it shows me staus 7 error

Ahahah not just those
Camera is flickering (green line) and poor quality;
BT is slow and if you try to use BT headphone and listen to the music the quality is poor;
BT Mic quality is terrible;
ART is not working properly (cause FC and reboot);
NO EXTERNAL SD.
IMHO it's not ready to be a daily use ROM

I haven't had any issues with BT, quality seems good to me, been using it in the car and with PowerAmp and sounds just as any other...
But I just had my first Blue Screen... for no reason really, so it isn't as stable as I thought.
Seems there are still issues... I apologize for being so eager to tell everyone how well it goes.
And yes, battery drain is huge... just like CM11 nightly. After all it is based on it.
I will use it a few more days and keep hoping for a Stable, robust and reliable ROM.
when i installed the rom it installed and when i first time used thje rom all going preety okay but when i turn of the screen the display gone blue and restared just like rizal lovins 4.4.2 any idea whats the problem is
Just found out that on 4.4 the WiFi cost more battery drain than 3G. It doesn't let the phone be into deep sleep. So when I turn it off, the battery drain status is better.

You can't flash KK ROM on jellybean ROM directly through cwm, to solve this :
Just flash this ROMs kernel with fastboot, then reboot to recovery and do a clean install.
The rom sure is fast, no bsod or random reboot for 16 hours usage.. The battery usage i think its normal if u think it drain too much revert the brightness to manualy adjust.. For who cant detect the external card.. U can install the CM 10.2 first then install this CF (wipe cache and data only) dont ever wipe system it'll make ext card can't read by ROM

Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried out this latest Nightly from Cyan-fox?? 29-January2014
http://cyanfox-rom.com/downloads/?folder=tsubasa/
Was hoping some brave pirate could give it a try... I am exhausted of trying different nightlies (CM, AOKP, PAC, etc...) and having to revert back to the most stable rom for me (CM 10.1.3 RC2) while waiting for the final release of the OFFICIAL XPERIA V 4.3!!
Which for some reason, Sony keeps delaying eternally.
Thanks in advance!!
Thank you for the sharing. I will still waiting for the more stabel version. Currently im happy with Xperia Revelation rom
What are bug?

CM 13/ ZUI or anything else?

Hello
So far I have been using COS 12.1 that came along with my ZUK Z1 but of late my phone has been behaving weirdly, in the sense that many apps are randomly crashing and the phone is overall laggy. So I am thinking of moving to a new ROM based on Marshmallow
Which ROM would you guys suggest for the Z1? Should I consider moving to CM 13, ZUI or the much talked about NucleaROM?
Your suggestions would be highly appreciated
Many thanks
Not tried zui but nuclear rom is very good and fully stable but it has limited features like stock cos 12.1 if u want more features try resurrection remix or dirty unicorns both are good and stable
Try out bliss rom using it for a day without any bugs or hiccups.
Thanks for your suggestion guys.
I flashed stock CM 13 but it seems to have issues with Skype calls, i.e. - the other person can't hear me even though I can hear him/her. Also the front cam doesn't always seem to work
Can anyone please confirm is these issues have been solved in NucleaROM or the other ones mentioned above?
Many thanks
In all roms Skype work flawlessly no problem with the video or audio now i m using Google duo it has better video audio quality

Tempting Android N AOSP

Very tempted to update to Android N (Team FXP AOSP)
But I value my camera quality (Using DRM fix kernel, works great)
Knowing that the Xperia is never going to get android N, due to google removing the Z3's kernel from their source, would it be worth updating to AOSP, basically removing all the features that are so good?
You answered your own question, stick to stock if you want a camera that works 100% well. AOSP camera has never been good for any phone and the camera on Nougat barely works anyway.
Next best thing is Concept ROM, which still has a decent camera
I'm tempted to try Nougat AOSP. I don't mind losing the camera on Z3c that much since I prefer my camera on my G4. But I don't know how to install it. Is there a guide? That's up? Last time I checked Sony's site the guide was down.
Two qustions, how bad does the camera become, is it still usable for simple random snaps to send to friends on IMs?
What is DRM fix kernel?
TIA
Lol nougat barely works. I've been running it for days now. My opinion is nougat is excellent on z3c. I can upload a flash able zip with full Google apps if people are interested

That does sound good. Get 6-8h SOT with SLiMM ROM. Do you know how much you get on this one?
Also could you do me a favour and check which Android Security Patch it got? It would be awesome if PA is up to date with that.
TIA

Is where I am posting all the builds I put together. So be warned that if it doesn't boot it was just a test version. AFAIK the latest ROM should boot fine without issue. GApps are already installed on all the flashable zip versions in that location

Hey thanks. Quick question, you said you have been running nougat on your device and everything (but the camera) seems to be working. I just installed it last night (and my gapps are working as well now) and I already noticed a couple of bugs. First and most important, i can't hear the person on the other end of the line. It appears that my earpiece is not working. The person on the other end can hear me, but I can't hear that person. Second and minor issue, once i plug in my z3c to charge, the battery icon top right shows the charging sign as it should. However when i unplug, that charging sign doesn't go away. So far i have noticed these bugs, can you confirm if you are not facing these bugs (so I know its my device that is messed up).
Thanks,

Hi!
I'm using the latest AOSP for our devices, and facing thiese bugs too. ( 20160912 ). Sometimes I've got calling bug when I can't hear the other person on the line, but he can hear me. Just a restart solves it, but I've got thiese problem nearly evry tenth call time... And one more thing, while i'm on calling and my phone set to minimum volumes, everyone else could to hear my phones speak... or I can say it, what you're talking about. Like when i set the speak to a loudspeaker, as though it were the whole conversation. The speakers are very loud on minimum volume, and not too much louder on maximum settings. ( but, i think they are a known bug ).
Second, the cahrging icon. Yes I experienced it too, when you disconnect the charger from the phone, the icon remain the same, like when the charger plugged in.. And I think, something gping on the background, because my battery goes down nearly 30 percent by a night ( 8h ).
About the rom speed. I think, it runs very smooth / fine until more than five software parallel, ROM while fast. If more than five program run in the background, ROM start to tear, slow down. If you delete them from the memory, the system will be fast again.
I tried to take a logcat with "aLogcat" from playstore, but it's not working. I remember it from my previously phone age, i must convert it to system app... But now, I can't do this, because i did it with Titanium Backup, and now they not support andoid N..
Anyway, I think its will be a very good AOSP rom... ( without camera :/ )

Does this phone have bad kernel?

Huawei P9 is grate phone, but after using only stock android phones (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5) I have some issues with branded ROMs. First of all, apps are killed after some time when screen is off. I have turned off all app killing services, battery savers, etc but it does not help. This is anoying when I use MiBand and after some time, I dont recive notifications on my band, because P9 killed that service. (never happend on Nexus 5). Second issue is with bluetooth. I use wireless bluetooth headset. Worked like a charm with Nexus 5 but when I try to listen to music on my P9, it stutters when screen is off. I have to keep my phone very close to headset to listen to music normaly. So I asume its kernel issue and power saving options.
I have not tried custom roms and kernels yet, Im afraid they are not stable. Does anybody have simmilar problems and have tips how to improve my expierience with P9?
Yeah personally I can not stand what Huawei does regarding software. Problems like you described are the reason I am indeed using only (yet unstable) custom roms on my P9.
But with Root you can at least always try to tweak some things so it works better for you.
Interesting ... I am using mi band 2, too, but get the notificiations non-stop. Also, while using bluetooth with xiaomi Mi speaker, I do not get any stuttering... Rarely some apps do get killed, but this only happens when I have 15+ apps.
what version of android do You use?
Nope,it actually has a good kernel. The only phone who recived a MASSIVE kernel update . the only phone with 4.1 .x .
It's the user ,not the phone. Never had a problem with RAM management. It's actually pretty good. I can have 2 games and 4-5 apps (but who the **** does that???).
As for the Mi Band,I have a G Watch Urbane . It's paired 24/7 and it never got disconnected.
Soo..yeah.
Android 7.0/B378 btw.

Switching to custom firmware

Good day to all! After updating to android 12, power consumption has increased tremendously. Previously, the battery, when actively used (before the update), held a charge for two days, now it does not hold a day. According to our forum (4PDA), they don't give me an answer and sent me, in fact, here on XDA. There is a desire to install GSI, but I don't know if NFC will work. They write that they put it from m31, it works fine, but there is no NFC. Or try LegendaryPixieOS 3.4. I would like to return android 11 if I put the firmware on the UI. Please share your advice. I am grateful in advance. Samsung m31s, all the latest updates are installed.

Thanks for the answer! Downloaded and installed PE+ from Github site (phh build), great flight. It's like holding another phone in your hand. NFC works, auto brightness and all sensors. The problem was in BlueTooth, namely: it connects and works to a tape recorder in a car, and headphones, but I didn’t want to connect to a smart watch. But this is half the trouble, the worst thing is that the navigator did not want to work, and not one at all. It finds satellites, plots a route, and when you click "Start Route", it just starts to slow down so much that even notifications about changing the route come only when I drove past the turn of the 3-4 block. The battery charge was good. Even fast charging worked, which failed on the latest official firmware.
