Huawei P9 (EVA-AL00) Google Map Location History is off! - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I recently upgraded to Android 8 on my Huawei P9 EVA-AL00 phone. But since then Google map location history is off and i can't turn it on. Done several methods but no luck. Finally discovered that there is a system app AutoNavi Location Services that controls the location reporting of the device and it can't be uninstall without rooting. Tried rooting app Kingroot but failed.
Is there any solution for this?
And what's the way to rebrand my Chinese version rom to International version?
Pls help.
Thanks.

Rooting of EMUI 5 (Android N) and EMUI 8 (Android O) is much more serious than King(o)Roots
You need Bootloader code to unlock Bootliader, and then you must flash patched Ramdisk to be able to root with Magisk
You may try (no guarantee, didn't use it) the followimg - but you will definitely need to enable ADB debugging (don't know if Bootloader must be unlocked for the method)

Q: Stucked on FRP after updating to MM 6.0.1 ( Please Help )...

Hello guys!
I have updated my N920C to MM 6.0.1 Officially. Unfortunately I didn't enable the developer option and OEM was not unlocked also. I tried to restore or recover my device with KIES and RootJunkey method as well. Neither I can install a custom recovery nor It could be fixed with reset method because of FRP lock. Kindly help me getting out of this problem. Everytime it gets stucked on Google account login after reset And I really don't remember that account which was logged in previously.
Error Message: This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a google account that was previously synced on this device. (and it can't be skipped).
Note: I tried OTG method but it did not work. Bcoz Marshmallow does not allow the file manager to popup directly. That method is supported with Android L or less.

Huawei P9 cannot install any firmware

Hello, I have a huawei p9 L-19 and the problem is that after i attempted to unlock and root my device the phone stayed on firmware B360 whatever i do. And i can't install any software which is not related to android 7 otherwise it fails.
This problem occurred when i tried to install twrp . After installing the phone was blocked into now booting or something like that. However after a couple of restarts the phone booted and there was no problem. I triyed a second time to install twrp and failed again, so i tried relocking my device, and when i first booted i realized that i have no keyboard installed except google voice, so i configured the phone after the first boot ,and i realized that all the huawei apps are gone, such as clock, backup, camera.
I believe this problem is based on the fact that the twrp was for android 6 and i was on android 7.allthough The weirdest part is the weirdest part is that whatever firmware i install, it either fails or it doesen't change the current one B360.
Please guys i need someone to help me with this matter, i just bought my huawei p9 :crying:

Huawei EVA-L09 P9 No Update to Android 7 Nougat or EMUI 5 ? EMUI 4.1.1 "No Updates"

Huawei EVA-L09 P9 No Update to Android 7 Nougat or EMUI 5 ? EMUI 4.1.1 "No Updates"
I just purchased a P9 and its still on Android 6 Marsh mellow.
The current version its on is EVA-L09C432B182 ?
I just got the phone off eBay with a cracked screen with the intention of refitting a new screen and using this phone. I have done a factory reset on the phone and the phone did two updates, one was 500mb and the other around 1.8GB...
The phone is unlocked as my ID sim card works on it. Is there anything I can check to help the phone do the update to version 7 ? Do I need to sign into Google ?
Sorry I'm new to the Android platform. Thanks, Ken.

Finally found a method that worked! EVA-L09c432b182 -> 360
Hey guys/girls,
I have a Huawei P9 Eva-L09c432b182. Spent hours trying different methods on updating to Nougat to have the following method work.
1. Download Firmware Finder from the Android Google Play Store.
2. Set up WiFi connection with proxy (as per Firmware Finder instructions)
3. Selected the EVA-L09C432B378 Full OTA -MF-PV 71496
4. Went to "Update" in the settings,
5. Pressed back after new update package had been found and selected Download Latest Full Package.
6. Download completed, installed and optimized.
7. New Version = Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0 EVA-L09C432B378 - haven't found anything wrong / broken but will update if I find anything.
Hope this can help someone.
I then used this video to help understand the process but I am not allowed to post a video link, but the video title is "Firmware Finder tutorial (Huawei firmware update)" posted under the YouTube channel "Huawei Device" (Published on Feb 6, 2018)
Phone is now downloading EVA-L09C432B378 Full OTA -MF-PV 71496 at 2.27GB will report back the results of this. I'm in the UK and I suspect the phone although unlocked sold from EE/Three network store who are not allowing phones to update !
Update to Android 7 was a success very happy but still its annoying that these phones get stuck on older versions...

Google Play Services not working

Hey,
I bought a Nokia 7 Plus TA-1062 from China. After it arrived I installed the global android version using the instructions provider here. I then side loaded a 8.1.0 version with Security path from 1st of August. The phone is functioning fine in terms of ability to browse web/take calls/use camera/etc. - HOWEVER - during any of these updates I wasn't able to use any of Google's services (Play Store/Cloud login/Updates). It's just stuck on 'Checking info...' and sometimes notifies it wasn't able to connect.
When I look at the Google Play Services logs (using the *#*#426#*#* code) I see that the connection is failing constantly. I've tried reseting the cache/data of all related apps and the phone itself without help.
Anyone knows how to solve this? Why are the Google Play Services not working?

I am also the Chinese version of Nokia 7plus, also found this problem, the message can not be pushed!
flashing gapps would solve the problem if you have a recovery installed, but since we cannot unlock our bootloader, you're ****ed

Thanks for replying - I'm new to all this and would like to learn more -
1. What does it mean to have "recovery installed"? I'm able to enter the recovery console on boot via the power button+up volume key trick (that's how I sideloaded the 8.1 version), I'm guessing that's not it?
2. What does it mean to unlock the bootloader? how do you know if your bootloader is locked or not?
3. and probably most important - how do you flash gapps?? That's something that I'd like to try, maybe my phone is already unlocked by some sheer luck (doubt it since it came in a sealed box)

Stuck on EMUI 10.0 on Huawei P30 Pro after 1 year

So I had the phone for almost 2 years, and I realise that I haven't received updates since March 2020. I know that EMUI 11 is out, but I have not gotten an update after EMUI 10.0. I tried using the HiCare method, the HiSuite PC method, but nothing works. I'm currently located in the United States, I don't think it has to do where I am, because I know someone who has EMUI 10.1 or EMUI 11 on their device. What should I do to update the device? I also found out the region code is C636, which is Asia Pacific.
There's a thread on flashing firmware on locked boot loaders. That may be of help.

I would do it, but I think it's too risky.
Been there, done that. Don't worry, I can help for you not to kill the phone like I did on my first attempt .
The dload method works fine. Although, you will need to get the rom for our region from here (this is the latest 10.1 version, you can verify it here) . I recommend going with the OTG adapter + USB memory stick method (it will wipe the data so don't forget to make a backup before proceeding).
I just want to clarify that I haven't been able to upgrade from 10.1 to 11 with any of the methods you have mentioned, not even with HISuite Proxy (there's no dload FW support for EMUI 11). Since I'm a Mac user I had to go with a virtual machine so that could have been the problem though (I read other users have successfully upgraded to 11 once they were on 10.1).
The main reason for me to update the phone was fixing the wireless charging. I've bought a Huawei wireless charger and I'm having this issue (spoilers alert: it doesn't seem to be a software issue so no, still not working).
The process is relatively safe as long as you flash the right firmware. On my first attempt I flashed the firmware from a different region. The phone worked normally except for the device certification (no Netflix, Google Pay, banking apps and so on).
Good luck and just let me know if you have any questions.
Did you succeed to upgrade your device to emui 11? Please share your method if you did
Try to update via Hi Care (it used to be to force an update to Emui 11 before the update came out in the normal "updater")
In HiCare app -> select Your device -> Quic Services -> Update -> click Check for updates
