LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
GPL compliance:
Device tree source code: LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_polaris
Kernel source code: LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_sdm845
Working:
Camera (and flashlight)
WiFi
NFC
Bluetooth
Telephony (Calls and Data)
Audio (Record and Playback)
Video Playback

Compatible with all Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S variants.Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 9 firmware with proprietary blobs from MIUI 8.10.25 dev package.
Downloads:
Official download links
Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.
Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi MIX 2S)
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install LineageOS zip package
[*]Install [optional] the LineageOS su addon to get root (there are obviously other root methods, but this is the recommended one as it survives to OTA updates)
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)
Important notes:
* Required * firmware version must be based on MIUI P-based builds.
GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.

Wow, thanks. Yesterday i unlock my bootloader. Im now in AOSIP, but maybe later try this one.
I wonder what are the differences between yours and notsyncing's. Is this version more stable?
I tried aosip and lineageos 16, I prefer los 16, although both roms are equally fluid. note that aosip spends a little more battery, although I used it very little. no proximity sensor works, it can also be used daily. for the camera I use the last bgc, I miss the functions of the stock camera, it is the only thing that is made of less than miui.
I am on latest xioami.eu miui 10 beta ROM< and it has also problems with proximity sensor while using phone calls. So it means it is general problem on PIE android.

No, in LOS it doesn't work at all as of now, in xiaomi.eu it may be unstable though on Pie Global miui it's getting better every release.

Thanks, and there is no possibility to instal MIUI kernel?
Thank you very much it works really fine, I have two questions
Is possible to install weather provider for clock?
Is possible to select different ringtone for each SIM?
Thanks
Sorry for my English...
is the second camera working?
Pixel Launcher doesn't work with this ROM, crashes at launch.
Magisk works but had to download and install manually Magisk Manager.
Boot is slower than Pixel Experience Pie but once it boots this ROM is faster overall.
This is great news. I was a long time Lineage user on my Mi5. Using Notsyncing build now on Mix2s because of working proximity sensor. Hope you get it working soon.

Confirms issue.
Also, Quick Charging seems broken... Getting only 500mA from stock wall charger and stock cable. Removed battery info from Recovery and got 1500mA, which is still far below normal; and it reverts to 500mA after reboot!
Also when I enter twrp the battery percentage shown there is usually 20% lower than in LOS. Bizzare.
Guess it could be issue with uncalibrated battery info. Will do a full cycle and see if things change.
For me Pixel Launcher from Playstore works just fine. And its normal that Magisk isnt pre installed

notsyncing's version is a GSI/Treble build. This is a true polaris Lineage OS build made specifically for our device.
Can anyone compare this build and the one from notsyncing for me? Which one is better and why? ? Thanks in advance!
Great! Thanks! I'll move from GSI to this ASAP ? I just wish it's official so I can have OTA ?

Will be official when time comes. But Xiaomi must release updated kernel source code so that we can have working proximity sensor.

Thanks for this! I am running the CarbonROM Beta 2 from the partner builds (released July 17). I notice that there is now an official version that is also labeled as Beta 2, but was released five days later (July 22). Can I flash the official build without going back to full stock first? Also, the newer build is significantly smaller: 599MB versus 1.6 GB. Is that because the newer build doesn't include GAPPS?
Thanks again and sorry if I missed the answers to these questions.
As an aside, I'm really liking CarbonROM. Great battery life and very smooth.

the newer builds are xz compressed, you have to decompress them first.
If its the same rom (e.g. carbon -> carbon) you don't have to do a factory reset.

Thanks! And now I realize that I can't read and misread OmniROM for CarbonROM. Oops.

Phh LOS is a generic build meant for any device with treble support. The OpenKirin build is specifically targeted to Kirin devices.
Most of the changes are for dealing with the ways Huawei did things differently than everyone else. Also built in is the Huawei camera app, so (most of) the native camera functionality is available.

Thanks! I want to try OpenKirin LOS (OKLOS), but how will I be able to flash Magisk without TWRP? OpenKirin LOS says that it requires the stock EMUI recovery, so how can I flash Magisk?
---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ----------
Okay, so I clean flashed OpenKirin LOS Beta 5 on my MHA-L29. Fingerprint gestures are disabled/greyed-out despite the Mate 9 having a rear fingerprint sensor. Fingerprint gestures worked perfectly on Phh LOS, so I'm not sure why OKLOS isn't working on that end.
---------- Post added at 12:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ----------
Another issue I found: On OKLOS, the Mate 9's secondary top speaker isn't working when playing media. To be fair, it didn't work on Phh LOS either, so I'm not sure if that's an issue you guys can fix.

Use 'fastboot' command.
-> extract stock boot image, patch it by magisk manager, flash patched boot image by fastboot.
Or you can install (patch boot image and replace it ) in magisk manager directly.

After a few days of running on my Mate 9, OKLOS is running super smooth! Much smoother than Phh LOS. Hoping @OldDroid and the team can address a few of the bugs listed in my earlier post. Keep it up!

disable the navbar to turn on navigation gestures.
This will be adressed in the next los beta so you can toggle the nav gestures with navbar enabled.

hello,
is there any way how the bugs should be reported?
In LOS Beta 5 I discovered that if trying to enable Bluetooth trigger in a Profile, the Settings crash. My phone is Mate 9.
PS Otherwise, the only thing I can say is Hats off to the developers! When I received the phone as a replacement (for a broken Nexus 6p) I thought "oh, crap: no Snapdragon, no LOS". This really made my day!

Although I meant it mainly as a general questions where the bugs should be brought up. In this thread? Or in the Telegram channel referenced in the 1st post? Or...?
PS I found out that NFC is not working, but that seems to be a known issue.
errors in logcat (omnirom)
Hello,
I am trying out OmniROM and I have been getting less than stellar battery life (though still acceptable). I took a look at the MatLog app and noticed a bunch of errors that keep coming up. One of them is from BatteryExternalStatsWorker: "no controller energy info supplied for wifi".
I googled around a bit and it appears this has popped up on other ROMs and it seems to be related to a missing API. There are other errors as well, many of them thrown by HWComposer: "invalid layer type change".
I have no idea if these are impacting battery life, but an error is an error.
I attached a zip with logs from MatLog.
Thanks.
Dear MR.OldDroid
Is it possible for you to add UMS (USB mass storage function, connect pc and turn Micro SD card in photo to be a removable flash disk on PC) into the Kernel? I like this function, it is much better than MTP function.
Thank you very much.

Hi we would like to hire a private server to create builds faster so that we can make corrections faster, but we would like to know if anyone would want / could contribute monthly to the rental of the server, these are the prices we managed to make us do only for us (they are really cheap) but currently we are the only financiers for which based on the recurring donations we can regulate ourselves on which server to take. At the moment we are the official maintainers of PixelExperience for Redmi Note 7 and we are constantly working to solve the small problems that have remained to be corrected, but that require more development. The quality of our work is ensured by the results we demonstrate every day in our official global Telegram channel (https://t.me/PixelExperienceLavenderGlobal) by not adding code if not necessary, analyzing every possible addition to obtain a ROM (and a device tree) usable by the entire developer community. We are developing a site where every useful information will be included and each donor will obviously be thanked publicly. We thank all those who believe in this project and will want to support us. You can send a donation here: https://www.paypal.me/nunocodex. Thanks a lot.

FAQ
FAQ-1
Problem: When i going to Recovery is ask to insert a password/pin code but I don't have it.
Solution: With Android ten the encryption system changed, you need to have the latest Orange Fox Recovery (atm 10.0.2), make backup of data partition, format data partition, then restore it.

Hello, I have a problem with the rom, my messages are sent with a certain delay and duplicate, sometimes it just does not send at all, I already tried to play with the settings and put LTE or other but it's dont resolve the problem.
I would also like to know if it is possible to have the option "Live Display" using a patch to another because my RN7 has the Tianma screen and suffers Screen Ghost.
Sorry for my bad english and thanks for help.
Coming from MIUI 10.3.10, I gotta say this ROM is perfect!
All the things I use works. GCam is working (slomo included) and proximity sensor is working without any hack.
The UI transition is smooth and boy, Android 10 is so good!
As there's no bug, I think it's time to ditch MIUI
Thanks dev.
I allready got used to Android 10 so i can't think about going back to Pie. Great rom.
When playing music, there is no option on the lock screen to play pause or skip. Is it possible to add that feature in the future updates?

Didn't know there astrophotography in 7.1! I'm using 7.0.xx version. Let me test and will let you know.
Update: seems like it should work on any version above 7 with the right settings. I changed the lines in developer settings and sticker the phone to the wall to capture in night mode but seems like it won't trigger astrophotography mode.
Did it work in other ROMs you tested?

Cool..
Sorry didn't know.
Works flawlessly, even install Substratum Lite with working theme. No bugs other than the ones mentioned in the OP as of now. Thank you for this awesome ROM.
@CryllicBuster273 Thanks for this custom ROM
One question: In stock ROM we have display refresh rate option of 60/120Hz (I see the same in your ROM as well), but wanted to know if the display supports setting of 90 Hz refresh rates too which can be unlocked and set in custom ROMs?

Theme is looking good.
Few questions:
1. Which theme is this which you have installed using substratum?
2. Magisk safety net checks is passing?
3. Viper4android working without issues?
Everything works nicely including those like Viper4Android & notification led which do not work in Eu rom. Thank you.
Hi I am new user of Xiaomi phone need a basic guide how can flash this rom,I was user of Samsung phone, Xiaomi is completely new.thanks in advance.
Follow the steps (First time installation) as outlined in the OP assuming you have got twrp installed.
If Opengapp does not appear (no Play Store) after the boot, repeat the same steps without the step to format data to reinstall again.
I use the latest Opengapp nano package downloaded from opengapps.org. It works too.

it's not a port, it's source built ROM.
I'll check that yellowish screen issue.
Yelowish screen was due to display mode set to Auto in LiveDisplay option.. Turned it off

Thats great! I was thinking its a port... Being source built is why it is unbelievably smooth..
Also, I was wondering - Since the battery life is the only area for this ROM which could use some improvements, can I flash optimusdrunk kernel 90hz over this build? Thanks in advance ur work much appreciated :good:

first of all: thank you very much khalvat! i didn't expect that..
but android 12 gapps for android 13?
Thanks! I will use it as daily driver now. Everything seems working just as the last build from Android 12.
Please when you try to fix, on klte / klteduos,if you can, please fix to work on 3G only mode. On Android 11 and 12 and many other builds I tried from your custom ROM only 4G works but I preffer 3G as its more stable where I live. Thanks in advance
Use bitgapps. Link added

Wow thanks
Running Quite smooth on a SM-G800W8 but Emulators like to run quite slow unless I hold my finger on the screen, Thank you.
Great news, thanks Khalvat. Would it work if i made a dirty flash over your android 12.1 rom? I tell you it cause gapps are the same. Thanks in advanced.
since the power button is not working on my KLTE I won't be able to install cuz I wake the screen with that button I will wait for a fix
Thanks so much for supporting our 8 year old phone! I noticed that adoptable storage doesn't work anymore (it did on 19.1). The option doesn't show up when you insert an SD card, it just says "SD card for transferring photos and media". If I manually format it with `sm partition <disk> private` then the phone bootloops (gets to lock screen for a few seconds then crashes). Just wondering if there is a plan to get this working soon, because I fill up my phone's space fairly quickly .
Thanks again for keeping our old phones up-to-date!

Same here, stuck on the LOS animation for an hour. Same as the last couple 19.1 builds (w/ or w/o Gapps). July 19.1 is the last one that works fine.
@kltelegacy - This is on klte. From the 12.1 thread - others (only on klte) had the same issue:
Unfortunately, on klte, both TWRP update and clean install fail to boot (sits on LOS animation forever), even w/o any Gapps. I had also tried MtG and OpenGapps 12L unofficial nano and micro, same thing. I had the same issue was on the Aug build, but Jul was fine. No SIM installed.

Thank you very much, Sir KHALVAT for your unpayable effort in keeping our beloved Samsung Galaxy S5 KTLE always running the latest Android release. I did a clean installation of the ROM and flashed the BitGApps version 1.4 as recommended, and since the first day I am using my phone without any severe issue. The installation through TWRP version 3.6.2_9-0 went smoothly, and so did the first setup of the phone through the wizard. All my data and configurations saved on Google Drive were restored.
Today, I noticed in one of the repositories on GitHub that SELinux will pass to ENFORCING in the next release of the ROM. I hope that the missing functionalities mentioned in the OP will also be implemented.
For all those users following the thread, please do a clean installation if you really wish to enjoy Android 13 on your KLTE device.
Once again, many thanks to KHALVAT and all those contributing in code and / or giving constructive feedbacks.
