Hello there!, i got a new Mi a2 with 32GB of Memory, (Yes, is very little) But, i see the space required for the System is a 12GB, well, someone know how recover more space? deleting Useless things from the System or changing ROM, in this case, Other Roms occupy the same space of the original rom? thanks!!
I wonder why Mi A2 lite takes much less space than Mi A2. In my family we have both, and, if I remember correctly, Mi A2 Lite system takes around 7GB while Mi A2 12GB.
That makes any sense? Both android one, both Xiaomi, both 8.1. How can the size be so different? It's almost double.
This happens because the phone has two system partitions in order to support seamless updates.
See:

https://www.xda-developers.com/list-android-devices-seamless-updates/
You can regain a few GBs by converting your A2 to a Mi 6X (read the forums and be careful). The 6X has no A/B scheme so the system will take just one partition, probably reducing the reserved space. I'm not sure by how much, though.

That is indeed a very good question since the A2 Lite also supports seamless updates and therefore has the A/B scheme. I also would like to know what is causing this difference.

Hi all!
I'm really interested in the Mi Mix and Mi VR but I can't find any information that it will work with Mi VR. I find this a bit strange since they were announced the same time, maybe the Mi Mix is to big? I guess it is to early, but maybe we can speculate if it will work with Daydream? The SoC should be able to handle it since it's the same that are being used in Google Pixel, but maybe the Mi Mix misses some sensors?
Can't wait to get my Mi Mix 18K!
i do not know if it will work, but the resolution is really low so using vr is not recommand

I don't think you could be able to fit that massive phone having 6.4" screen into headset slot which supports screens up to 5.7" max. With some uber-ingenuity, out-of-this-world creativity, and much luck, you might succeed, but I hardly doubt it's achievable at all. Supported phones (Mi5/S/+ and Note2) might work with Google's Daydream, but we won't know that for sure until MIUI gets build on top of Nougat. Both SD82x SoC's are very capable, in terms of both the raw power and sensors implemented, so I think that's not questionable, although Google has a very long list of requirements for Daydream-compatible phones. Only future will show...
that's right, big phones wont fit it
i have got one
another problem is : you can download the daydreams apps from google playstore
-> error message phone not compatbile
-> and even if you have the apk, it will prompt you to update the google vr service, and then you are stuck again with the playstore rejecting you
i don't know on what base it's rejected
i tried to play with build.prop, and make my phone llok as a pixel, but no luck so far
even if i compile a game for daydream with the sdk, i have got a incompatible device error message
I think first and most important requirement is MIUI based on Nougat which has native VR/Daydream support.
I got hold of an early alpha Nougat build, so I'll try to do some test when I find time for it.
Last but not least, Xiaomi IS Google Daydream partner, so I really hope it will be supported in near future.
Does anyone having issue about touchscreen delay or lag or latency or whatever..? I hav mi 6x brandnew and i hav experiencing slow touch compared to redmi note 5 zzz
Why no one is complaining about slow touch and latency of mi 6x mi a2 :3
Is there any ?
Yes, I also experienced high latency on my Mi A2 64gb, it did not feel good at all! I compared it to a Huawei P20 and my iPhone 7 Plus, and they was light years better in touch screen.
I've noticed it and it's usually very noticeable when swiping left on the homescreen to look at google now cards. Specifically scrolling up or down sometimes leads to no action actually occurring. I enabled the developer options that shows the touches cause I thought it was a touchscreen problem and was actually able to see the touches drawing (so my gesture was being recognized) but the app did not scroll up or down at all. Removing the finger and scrolling again fixes it every time but it's certainly annoying.

The contents moving very slow even my thumb is forward to and reach to that point.. ,and delayed.. ,i m noticing a lot, but thankz to that we dont hav motion blur ,hahha hopefully it got fixed by touch panel firmware updates in the near future, like they fixed touch latency in redmi 5 plus..

In this review they actually test latency and yes is it very high compare to other phones. It is around 110ms on Mi A2! Redmi Note 5 has 91 ms and phones like Huawei P20 has 68ms and iPhone X 41ms.

Big thank Fyi, one thing i hav noticed that i hav three ph redmi 5 plus ,redmi note 5 and this shhit mi 6x ,and mi 6x hav very much high touch latency and its really PROMINENT everytime scrolling to everythings even in setting app. so i hav compared with redmi note 5 side by side and redmi note 5 is doing a lot more faster and really typing accurate ..so what does xiaomi got this..?...and anothet thing i hav experienced that when i first handled redmi 5 plus ,i got exact same problem like that ,so high touch latency ,alot of ppl at that time also in our country Myanmar complaining about touch ,then i decided to wait FIRMWARE updates and really it got fixed in recent updates ,then i started to check engineering menu and touch panel firmware version is increased and it got fixed, so now its faster than mi 6x ,lol.....then i got redmi note 5 which has the exact same material with redmi note 5 (Tianma TD4310) and its touch is fast ,So we can conclude that xiaomi fixed touch latency in redmi 5 plus and then released to redmi note 5 bcz the same touch sensor is used ,So i hope that mi 6x touch got fixed by getting updates in the future .xD

i hav mentioned about Mi 6x (and of course Mi a2 is suffering also..,)touch latency eariler before.and now here is what i got like in Oneplus 3T touch latency, i always got above the greenline everytime i typed in keyboard and everytime i scrolling to smth.. so Plz check it by developer options and scroll down all the way to Monitoring tab and then Select profile gpu rendering To On screen bars and then check it by typing fast or scrolling smth.. i m having very bad experience for now in Mi a2

This may b that u may not notice to what i mentioned the problem..So plz scroll in setting app.and the content r moving slower than the thumb reached to the point. U may scroll everything backward and forward fastly and u may noticed, or compare with another devices like redmi note 5 side by side and scroll smth on both ph, u will notice, and Plz test type fastly and u may notice too much words errors
For Those ppl who didnt believe me ,here is the Test of Mi a2 from France and kindly use chrome and check the screen section they did really tested about latency and mi a2 ,same at my mi 6x hav too much high about 110 ms.,quite unacceptable tho..

and here is poco f1 test..also hav same with mi 6x too much high latency.

If you've got the NVT screen (Tianma), I was able to overclock it to 70HZ. It should definitely help with response and latency. I also optimized my kernel for latency using a lot of tweaks. Take a look at the beta group if you wanna try:

I came from Mi A1 to Mi A2 and A2 actually has lower latency or atleast that's my experience but compared to my Nexus 5 A2 has a lot of latency. Can't complain at this price point.

Scrolls as fast as I move my thumb here. No lag noticeable. And I am pretty sure I'd notice 100ms

And yes this is screen refresh rate, and all we want is to reduce touchscreen latency and response time when fingers move one point to another.bro..,poco ph and mi a2 or mi 6x hav the exact nt36672 digitizer And that is used in Oukitel ph...what a shame.
Hi i'm new here and have a question,
I have been using the MI A1 for nearly a year now and my partner who is not really very technically minded (but more so than me) came to xda and downloaded some kind of 'mod' that put GCAM on my phone apparently without any risk or hacking knowledge and in short I absolutely loved it and went from disliking my A1 to loving the nicely balanced photos it could produce.
Fast forward to today I recieved a MI A2 for my birthday and even though I'm enjoying the bigger screen I am really struggling with the camera app that came on it, I really want to be happy with my new phone and give my MI A1 to my son but atm I don't want to let it go just because of GCAM feature.
So my question is , is it likely that a similar technophobe friendly/risk free method of putting GCAM on my MI A2 will appear in the near future so that my partner can easily put it on for me or am I going to be forever stuck with the MIUI camera.
Does anyone else feel the same about the MIUI camera app, that it just seems a little unbalanced when compared to MI A1 with the GCAM feature added or is it just me being ungrateful?
Thank you for your time
GCam is already available for the Mi A2. Further more, the full MIUI camera app is also available so just let your partner dig the forum up a bit and install it As far as I've seen, the results are great

Very Nice photos, lights and sharpness, however, focus dots present in some of them. Once you seen them, you never can unseen them.
Hello guys i know this is threath about Mi A2 but i cannot decide and maybe someone can help?. I am on Mi A2 about year now. I pretty happy with it. Camera is awesome with gcam, Fast, great battery but i wanna upgrade.
And i am chosing beetween Mi 9 SE, Mi 9 Lite, Mi A3, Note 8 Pro. On Note i am not sure about MediaTek because MediaTek cannot use gcam but maybe basic camera is great i am not sure.
I am looking for great camera in that price range, i dont gaming much on phone, just camera and social networks so lot of multitasking.
What you choose from those or maybe another Xiaomi device?
Thanks for any advice

I would go with Mi 9 SE
MI 9T, new fast 730sd, 6GB RAM, super amoled, big batery.
Well Mi 9T Is awesome but in my country is out of my budget.
In this case go to Mi 9 Lite, 4030mah battery, super amoled, 3.5mm jack/sd card.
But Mi9 lite it's just ~ 10% faster than A2.
Your choice, my advice it's better to wait some time.
Sent from my Mi A2 using Tapatalk
Basic camera isn't great, that's why you upgraded to gcam on the a2 also.
All of the models mentioned by you have miui but the a3. So prepare for bloat and jibber, unless you're used to miui.
The only one to one equivalent is the a3 (mostly os wise) but careful with that, despite the amoled it's only 720p and the pixels are so big they scratch your nose.
Go pixel 3a imho if you want stock android of course. Price/quality ratio is great and you'll have your gcam (natively).
If not, whichever floats your boat.
Hi Guys,
I wanted to change my Mi note 10 Pro for something better with equal/better camera, but I am struggling to do so for half a year already.
I have bought mi 11 pro (which was not so easy considering that I am based in EU and it has not been introduced there) because it seemed that having the same camera sensor as mi 11 ultra, 5000 mah battery and a quick CPU would fit my needs. Oh, how mistaken I was ....
Once it came, I have installed xiaomi.eu firmware (I am using it on mi note 10 pro too) and shot couple of pictures on both devices to compare. Each picture was just: get the phone out of the pocket and take a picture of the same thing on auto settings. In my opinion there are only 2 pictures for which mi 11 pro bested mi note 10 pro. Please crop each image to see how grainy mi 11 pro pictures are. I am totally disappointed...

What settings are you using on mi 11? Why there is no exif?? Mine mi 11 is taking much better pictures, why your photos are so small, they're resized and overcompressed?
I used app to batch remove exif data- I am uncomfortable sharing pics with exact location over the web. It seems that it compressed the images.
I don't have the original files, so I will have to take new ones, but I can assure you that I did not fiddle with settings on either phones. Those are just shot out of a pocket.

Feel free to check up the photos now. I have taken the whole set once again and deleted only location data from exif. The verdicts stays the same for me.
