Open/Boot The Phone Into TWRP Recovery Mode Then Transfer Any File From Computer/Laptop To Phone By Using USB Cable.

Assure to tick Enable MTP (under mount menu), you should see the internal memory folders with file explorer in Windows pc.

Can you boot anyway?
If yes open the app Magisk and let it check stable updates, download zip and tray again flashing from twrp.

Magic v11 installation question

Hi, do i need install systemless SuperSU always in twrp before install magisk v11 if I want use new MagiskSU instead??
If I try install Magisk v11 with superSU uninstalled and phone unrooted TWRP give me error and installation fails and if I install superSU and after Magisk v11, Magisk manager say system is using SuperSU instead MagiskSU. How do I install Magisk with MagiskSU??
I have Samsung Galaxy S4 with optimized LineageOS 14.1
Read the pinned Magisk thread...
Unroot again using unSu by osm0sis (Google) before flashing magisk
Installation Instructions
If you're already rooted with MagiskSU, Magisk phh's superuser (not original), or Official Systemless SuperSU
Install/upgrade Magisk Manager from Play Store
Install/upgrade Magisk as prompted in the application
Reboot and you're done!!
If you're not rooted, or something went wrong and you need a clean start
(Recommended) Restore your boot image back to stock
Download the latest Magisk zip file
If you choose to use SuperSU (only support Android 6.0+), first flash SuperSU in systemless mode
Flash Magisk zip
Reboot, and update the stub Magisk Manager to the latest from Play Store

Yeah that button doesn't work for systemless superSU. It doesn't roll back your boot.IMG like it should.
Worst case scenario, flash the stock boot.img and then flash magisk.
Thanks guys, I installed Magisk v11.1 with MagiskSU working, Magisk Hide enabled but I have CTS mismatch error now in Safetynet test. I guess I cant do nothing about this error. Optimized LineageOS 14.1 and Samsung Galaxy S4
EDIT: Finally I passed the Safetynet test (no CTS mismatch error) disabling ADB interface in developer options. Thanks for Magisk, amazing.

What settings are you guys using in Magisk? I have disabled BusyBox, enabled Magisk Hide and systemless hosts. Superuser options are Access to "Apps and ADB" and Automatic Response set to prompt
I'm still having an issue installing Magisk on my phone with RAMROM V10. It gives me an ERROR 1.
It has been suggested that I should re-flash my boot.img with TWRP following the instruction:
Place your BOOT.img on your sdcard
Reboot into TWRP recovery
Tap "Install"
In the bottom right corner tap "Install Image"
Select your BOOT.img
Select the Boot Partition, then swipe to confirm Flash
However, when I follow the step, my TWRP cannot seem to find BOOT.IMG in my SD Card (I know it is there). What did I do wrong? Can anyone help?
i think the .img thingy is only for twrp.img files. You have to use another method to place your boot image like. -> make a backup of only your boot image via twrp backup function. Then duplicate that backup folder of twrp containing only the newly just regernated files, in the twrp folder. Then replace the su-modified boot file there with your original boot file, you obviously have to rename your boot image to fit the right name. (eg. with the logo image -> logo.bin changes to logo.emmc.win -> etc;.) Then use the twrp restore function to restore your "original" boot logo.
Hierarchy folder view would be like:
TWRP->folder 1 (original folder, in case something goes wrong)-> boot file and others
->folder 2 (our modified folder)-> files

FIY: Flashing regular boot.img files works just fine with "Install Image" in TWRP (of course, YMMV, depending on your device).

The boot image is a part of your device's software. It's what Magisk modifies to do it's thing. If the installer can't recognise it, there's not much you can do... Except providing logs, that is.
The update binary is a part of the installer. It's the script that modifies the boot image to install Magisk on your device.
When you have these kind of errors, save the recovery log after flashing the zip (Advanced -> Copy Log) and post that (attach it or use Pastebin or similar, don't copy it directly to the post). It's so much easier to troubleshoot with proper logs.
First thing you can try is to use the latest beta and see if that works.

That was a bit of a shady file sharing site. Anyway...
Your installed TWRP is pretty old. That might have something to do about it. Update TWRP, or you could try letting the Magisk Manager patch the boot image and then flash the patched image with TWRP. Installation instructions in the release thread.

Hm.... It might be that your TWRP is to old, but it should be the same procedure as when flashing a zip file except you switch to image flashing by pressing the "Image" button after going to the "Install" screen.
If that doesn't work, use fastboot (or whatever is available for your device).
Code:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img

Yes, if you flash the patched boot image you don't have to do anything else. The Magisk Manager has already taken care of everything.
If you want v14.5 beta, you should now be able to change the update channel (in Manager settings) to beta and update. Just as a FYI, you could have done this already when patching the boot image.
Sounds like it's working now, or? Can you install modules?

First of all, don't even mention that piece of piracy software on xda. It's used to steal from developers and is not allowed here.
In the "Modules" part you can manually install modules that you've previously downloaded. If you want to install directly from the Magisk repo, you (unsurprisingly ) go to the "Downloads" section of the Manager. If you can't see "Downloads", make sure the Manager has internet access.

You have to flash Magisk zip via TWRP to root any ROM.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445/amp/
Download latest stable from downloads section and reboot your phone into twrp and flash that zip. After rebooting into system again you'll have your ROM rooted.

Make sure you've got the latest version of TWRP, and if you don't, install the latest version.
Download the latest version of Magisk again, and put it on a Micro-USB USB stick.
Download the Magisk Remover zip and place it on the USB stick as well Magisk Remover
Boot into TWRP, and then flash the Magisk Remover zip.
Once that's done, flash the Magisk zip from the USB stick (don't remove it; the reason why I want you to flash from the USB stick, is that I've found it doesn't give any errors, rather than flashing from internal storage).
Reboot to system and install the latest version of the Magisk Manager app from XDA Labs Store.
If you use adoptable storage, then go to Apps & Notifications in System Settings, find Magisk Manager and see under Storage if it's installed on INTERNAL storage (if it isn't, move it there). Also while you're there, check that MM has got permission to access storage.
Launch MM and accept whatever it asks you to so it can complete the setup.
Then get & install this Root Checker app (I like it because it's free, the free version has got very little ads, and it just does the job for both root and safety net status checking).

You can always flash a stock boot image. That will disable Magisk completely, but has the drawback of leaving you without root...
To disable or uninstall modules without removing Magisk you would have to have access to /cache (place a file named .disable_magisk, with the leading dot, in /cache and Core Only Mode will be enabled) or /data/adb (delete the Magisk image file) through recovery. Usually not an option on a stock recovery... If there is no custom recovery for your device you might not have many options, but if there is one available and you don't want to install it, you could at least boot it with "fastboot boot recovery <name_of_recovery_file>".

If you got the device booting (in Core Only Mode) and still have root you could just use a file explorer, navigate to /sbin/.magisk/img and delete the offending module directories. Or, you could delete the Magisk image file in recovery (it's in /data/adb). Either of those options would remove the modules.

Magisk Bootloop on MIUI 11 11.0.1.0 Global Version

Hi friends, every time I try to root the 11.0.1.0 Global, my phone end up in Bootloop (goes to TWRP every time). I tried to flash disable dm verity, but same results.
I'm using TWRP unnoficial (twrp-3.3.1-25-raphael-mauronofrio.img) but tried with the official too, same results.
This time I will try to flash Magisk v18, or older.
I'm using Mi 9T Pro Global Rom.

Okay, now I'm unrooted, what steps I need to do? TWRP >> Flash Magisk >> Flash DM Verity >> Wipe Cache/Dalvik? Or only Flash Magisk via TWRP and Wipe Caches?
Edit: same results, tried to flash magisk and clear cache and dalvik, bootloop again.
Edit²: tried to do a Factory Reset on TWRP and system booted up normally, Magisk Manager says that I'm rooted, but I can't install any module. Tested AdAway do get root, and all ok.
Edit³: Magisk Manager requested for some "additional files", I pressed to install and he rebooted the phone, now I'm stuck again in TWRP. Tried to clear Cache and Dalvik cache, same results.

To install magisk on the global version, you must first remove the encryption.
1. return the system to its original state so that it boots, most likely it is flash via MiFlash (or via twrp ROM version for twrp)
2. flash DFE-script, reboot from twrp in twrp ( https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mFVdDlnp32g2AjdKlMq6tZcqK0krP-js )

3. format data-yes, reboot in system
4. check in the settings that encryption is disabled
5. flashing magisk in twrp

I will try this now. I can do this with dirty flash? I'm able to boot system, with Magisk v20.1 installed and partially working (if I install the additional content in Magisk Manager will Bootloop again, and I can't install modules).

You can flash the magisk-uninstaller 20.1.
and after format data-yes all your data will be gone.
Go to /data/adb/magisk/chromeos find "futility" file. Permission 644 for it.
Go to /data/adb/magisk find "BusyBox" file and permission 664 for it.
Reboot and done.
In future, when you flash any rom on k20 pro. Remember that do it if you flash magisk.
Good luck!

This is great. I downloaded magiskhide and had to enable it through terminal then it showed up in the drop down browser for magisk but wasnt in modules list of magisk. None of the modules seem to download and go there. Is it supposed to be like that?

Yeap!
1. Flash magisk via twrp (suggest pitchblack)
2. Delete 2 files
3. Reboot (→solved bootloop)
4. Open magisk manager and update (if failed, close app and try again and agian) → after auto reboot (after 5 seconds), can solved issue "can not flash modules - of course with all modules flashed, it's showed in list).

Solution is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-9t/help/phone-stuck-bootloop-try-to-install-t4007259
1. I back up my Internal storage to my PC
2. Format Data (In TWRP: Wipe -> Format Data)
3. I reboot back into recovery
4. I connected my device to PC via a cable and copy two files: "Magisk-v20.1.zip" and "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_10.20.2019.zip" into Internal storage. Then rename "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_10.20.2019.zip" to "Disable_ForceEncrypt.zip"
4. I flash "Magisk-v20.1.zip", then I reboot back into recovery again.
5. I flash "Disable_ForceEncrypt.zip" . Reboot to system and setting my phone like after flash a new room, and then I installed "MagiskManager-v7.4.0.apk"
It's working for me!

Not sure sorry. I ended up waiting for a better version of Magisk to come out. Have you tried Magisk 20.3 on K20/mi96t android 10 miui 11?
Hi guys,
Try to format data in TWRP before the first reboot. Remember, this will clear your data.
It is very easy to get bootloop because of cryptography.
Good luck!
