Coming from a Gear S2, I had the option of an automatic "cellular on" when my watch was disconnected from Bluetooth.
I can't find any sort of option like that on my new to me LG Sport.
I am trying to comfortably make it though the day with my AOD on, and it seems having cellular on all day makes it tougher.
That being said, when I go for a jog without my phone, I don't want to have to fumble with the watch to enable cellular.
Is there a program that can do that for me? I am looking into AutoWear... but I am starting from scratch on that... and maybe there is a setting or app that already does this (although I could not find it)
Thanks

Hi - ive tried looking through the threads but cant find anything, so apologies if im repeating something all ready asked..
Ive been noticing on recent phone bills that im getting charged for gprs calls that i definatly havnt been making but my phone company insists that i have. After further investigating, ive seen that if im using wifi, and the phone turns to standby, when it switches back on gprs has been activated and is running underneath wifi.. and this is where (i think) my call charges have been coming from...( i hope that makes sense!)
Is this a common problem with the stellar/kaiser/tilt or just a problem with this individual unit - also, if it is a common problem is there anyway in which i can stop it happening?
I can understand where it is coming from.
When you go into standby (ie turn off the screen), the phone turns WiFi off to save battery. This makes sense, but imho WM is still too stupid to understand the concept of money. Result is that when it tries to continue doing whatever it was doing it will open a new connection and it's first choice is the GPRS/HSDPA connection.
As far as I am aware, the options to stop this from happening again are....
1) Stop WiFi from turning itself off when the phone goes into standby. I'd do this using KaiserTweak - the Option is under "Data -> Wifi standby mode"
2) Disable the GPRS connections so it can't connect. One way is to remove the password so it asks before it connects. There's also a tool on here somewhere that allows you to quickly enable and disable connections. Here looked promising, posts a link to modaco
Hope that helps.
Hi
Is anyone aware of any software that automatically turns wi-fi on and off, for example:
- by location: turn wi-if on at home/work and off when outside these locations
- when available: when internet is accessed turn wi-fi on, if access point available connect, else turn off again.
etc.
Thanks!
auto profile, use Phone Alarm

Yep, try Phone alarm, works perfect with time based profile switching and location based switching. My must have for any WM phone. Trial advaliable before you buy.

Too bad this is a today screen based plugin, which doesn't work icw TouchFlo3D. And ... it doesn't work automatically. I would also like wifi to turn on the moment I park my car in front of my door
Have a look at "Secondtoday" this app should allow you to use phonealarm on touch diamond.

Sounds like you want "GPS-triggered" events, not automatic events. If someone would develop a GPS app to trigger certain things based on location, that would be awesome. But I guess the trade off would be battery-life. How long would it take to kill the battery if GPS were active all the time?!?!?!?!
similar to navigating via GPS (okay without display turned on -> maybe a few minutes more)
with standard battery pack something about 3-4h...
not realy usable imho;D
Yeah, that's probably true ... Couldn't it work on cell phone signals?
Hey,
Love Tasker, like love it...but, some of the things I'd like to do, the major ones, just aren't working out....it's probably me not setting them correctly, don't know...
So I need something simple really...
- Come home, turn wifi on, connect, turn mobile data off (would prefer to turn to GSM from WCDMA Auto but not sure if you can without root...)
- Leave home, wifi off, mobile data on...simple in theory...
Have tried locale based (gps) profiles, wifi near, cell locale...to not much avail...if just swaps back and fro, doesn't know whats going on. So I'm just seeing if anyone has been able to do this easily and efficiently...
Cheers.
I recently raised this myself. Basically the issue is that Google no longer allow apps to turn WiFi on or off. As such, that kind of profile won't work.
i have a Verizon Note 3 Stock/Root Rom and Gear with NULL Rom but no Nova launcher. i install NULL for the extra features but like the stock look and feel. this should work with NULL installed period regardless of your setup.
i have used Network Spooker, PdaNet, etc etc etc trying all scenarios trying to get the best results with the least amount of work to set it up and having to reconnect etc...
i am posting this just 10 minutes into my testing and so far so good.
here is what i did and with others help perhaps we can figure out if this is the best way and how it may or may not work with Gear Connection Bridge etc...
1. on Gear i put it in airplane mode
2. on N3 i turned off wifi and BT
3. on N3 i went into settings > Wireless and Network > More Settings > Tethering > tick BT Tethering
4. on Gear leaving it in airplane mode i just turned on BT and connect to N3
5. on Gear Settings > Bluetooth > tap the settings icon next to your phone device name > scroll down and tick Internet Access
7. on Phone you should see in Taskbar "Tethering Active"
8. on Gear open Browser or whatever to test
6. DONE
i have no other items running like Spoofer etc.. and everything seems to work perfectly. i now wonder for location how Gear Connection Bridge will wok?
also wonder what a day or 2 of testing battery will look like?
please let me know if this works for others
Looks great

I don't get it? That's how tethering is meant to work...

well at least for me on Verizon (not sure what carriers matter) i could only get internet access with Xposed Network Spoofer set to "Wifi" then PdaNet+ running on N3 and then PdaNet Tablet running on Gear and it was a lot of steps to get them all going. it did not work "out of the box" for me on Verizon as you were thinking.
if tethering wasnt an issue for you this will mean nothing but to me it was HUGE and very excited to figure it out.
lets see if others agree that may look at this and maybe im just nuts and this post was pointless
Some phones need wifi connection off before you can use Bluetooth tether, but other than that if you have the option on your phone to do Bluetooth tethering, then the profile will appear whenever your watch is connected

well i would never get the profile to appear and when i simply selected BT Tether in phone settings it would just turn itself back off again shortly. it wasnt until i set Gear in Airplane mode and with BT on phone off and then selecting Tether on phone that the option ever worked. trust me i had hours testing this in every way posted here
anyway it works for me now and so maybe others will benefit if they were having issues like i had.
I used Tasker with BT auto connect on the gear. When the gear connects to the note 3 blue tooth with is automatic Tasker will signal BT auto connect. Now I have sprint so I used BT auto tether on my note 3. So in other words I can reboot either device and it will automatically tether the gear. I can turn blue tooth of as well then back on same result if you are running Tasker on the note 3 also. The only issue I have is if I turn tether off on the note 3 from the settings then back on. I would have to re-enable it manually on both. But I think there maybe a way to have Tasker on the note 3 send a blue tooth packet to the gear that Tasker there can see and respond to. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have two questions about the touchwiz lollipop, and how tasker interacts with it (or doesn't).
1. I used to have a profile that turned on "silent mode" during meetings scheduled on my calendar. There is no more silent mode, but we do have a "sound mode". Putting that on silent turns on "Do Not Disturb". No biggie except tasker doesn't seem to be able to turn it off. Does anyone have a working profile that will silent the phone, then make it noisy again?
2. The other thing I used tasker for was turning on tethering when I got in my car. Tethering looks WAY different now than it did before, and at&t seems to want to limit your control of how tethering is used (to the extent that you can't choose your essid or even your level of security). Anyone successfully access the tethering option outside of at&t's mess?
Thanks in advance!
