Magisk bootloop on MI 8 SE xiaomi.eu Android 9 - Magisk

I tried the version 16.7, 17.1, and 17.3.. all of them make me to get stuck in the bootloader ( MI logo turn on and then off rebooting).
The 16.4 makes me boot to the ROM, but in magisk manager it says that I still don't have the root rights.
I'm trying to figure it out for hours but seems that I can't get the root at all.. any of you know how to fix this? Thanks.. :crying:
At least if magisk is not working, there's a version of SuperSU compatible with android 9?

I got the same issue. It is may because we dirty flashed different version.
In my case Xplore apk was disabled from root access without reason. I just uninstalled/reinstalled it and that brings back the root.
Try it

Hello,
Do you find a solution please ?

Solution please
No solution? Help-me please!

Me too facing the same issue. Version 16.6 is working. But can't update to latest. It leads to bootloop.

Is your device Chinese version and not international??

a question about flashing magisk

I have the latest hydrogen OS and unlocked bootloader , and i want to root my phone but i just wants to know if theres any other files I need to flash other than magisk.zip
Nope, just flash the latest magisk zip and it's done. But yes, you also have to install the Magisk Manager when you boot up after flashing the zip.
I installed the latest one that came out today and my phone took a crap! Phone became very laggy and would freeze and sometimes not even detect root. I had to restore my phone back to last weeks version.

Hm... Absolutely no issues on my OP3T, OOS 4.1.6 and Franco Kernel r25 with Magisk v13.1. Maybe you have a module causing issues (long shot, I know)?
No issues here with Open Beta 10, Stock Kernel, Magisk 13.1 and Manager 5.0.4.
Root is working, passes SafetyNet with all modules activated and properly hide root from my Banking App. All good!

Just Simple flash the Magisk v13.1 and install the latest magisk manager v5.0.4.
I feel you should flash magisk immediately, while flashing the ROM through custom recovery. Install magisk manager after first boot.
You can do a dirty flash without formatting anything to get rooted.

Version 15.0 bootlooping Note 5 SM-N920T

I have 2 Note 5 T-Mobile SM-N920T my first one i had version 14.0 after i did update to version 15.0 it got stuck on T-Mobile Logo and i had to restore it after that i tried to install twrp 3.2.0 was bootlooping samsung logo , i tried 3.1 and 3.0 was giving same issues on the phone that i had to restore. I used CF-Auto Root and TWRP worked fine with CF-Auto Root then i uninstalled CF-Auto Root and Installed Magisk version 14.0 no issues but once i updated it to version 15.0 same thing so with this phone is only working on version 14.0, now what is confusing me is that my other phone has version 15.0 everything most recent updates with TWRP but no issues on that one so i really do not know and understand why it works on that one but it does not work on this one if they are both same models same phones, can someone explain thank you.
Grab a logcat when the device is bootlooping and then upload that together with the Magisk debug log (you can pull it from /data/adb/).
I just downloaded catlog? how to get the log after it booploops or before? and upload the files here?

After I installed Magisk v15 I saved the log with catlog
what's confusing is keeps failing to install smali module as well, I have done it right same steps as my other note 5 something is blocking this, now maybe I need a clean stock the one I have it does the job but I noticed OEM is enabled after developer option is enabled that usually stays disabled after stock firmware is installed, I am just so mad why it's doing this it used to work before now is giving hard time with the same phone.
Catlog File after I installed Magisk 15
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1faS5d6V6DfpGd-afa_3M0-n9zfqYYoSw/view?usp=drivesdk
finally got it to work now. Clean stock firware then i did update to 7.0 naugat, now for my phone SM-N920T the only way i can root with magisk is this way i add TWRP first through Odin once install is done i go to TWRP recovery then i load 2 files Magisk 15 plus antiroot removal tool 4.1 most recent for some reason its working perfect with these steps if antiroot is not in it gets stuck.

Bootloops on open beta 24

Hi
Updated to latest open beta last day with twrp 3.2.1 and after flashing Magisk 16 am getting bootloops , tried turning Dev off and restarting no luck , tried Magisk 15 version also same bootloops , any idea why is this happening ??
Anything else you flashed with Magisk? Any Modules?
Nothing just Magisk only
Try using Acuicultors black themed TWRP and see if that fixes your issue.
Tried but the password is not getting accepted

Huawei P20 PRO EMUI9 bad module error

Well hello,
I'm on the canary build on Huawei P20 pro. I've installed, I guess... A module, which was not for this version of magisk, or whatever...
The phone, when I press the + button during boot -> to boot with magisk running -> the phone stays in bootloop
If I boot without the + button, therefore without magisk running, the phone works.
But now I'm stuck with some problematic module, which I can't disable nor uninstall, because the Huawei P20 pro has encrypted /Data and the magisk uninstaller tells me it can't access the /data so I should uninstall the magisk with the magisk manager.
But I can't, because I'm booting only without the magisk, so the magisk manager doesn't see any Magisk running.
So, I even flashed back the stock boot, which worked and then flashed the magisk once again (the installer told me I got stock boot and it's patching and stuff...) But I'm back where I was. without +button the phone works, but no magisk. With the +button boot I got stuck in bootloop.
I've serached everywhere to find some "patchable magisk module disabler" but without luck.
Thanks for any advice
Have you tried magisk recovery management? That may work.
Hi thanks, didn't know somethiung like that existed... But still doesn't work. I'm stuck at "error 1" in twrp. I've tried multiple versions of TWRP, tried magisk again, tried reflashing stock boot. but still error 1.
It's wierd...

TWRP and Magisk help

Hi everyone.
So I had a moto x4 for about year and a half before fricking up the charging port. So I recently acquired another one. Everything went smoothly the first month or so, with twrp properly installed and magisk too, but then I tried to install a magisk module and the phone bricked. I tried restoring via twrp backup but it didn't work and I ended up in a bootloop. So I flashed a stock rom. And when I wanted to install twrp it just didn't stick after a reboot and magisk would just get my phone stucked on the splashscreen.
I realized that, for whatever reason, a previous version of magisk would work (magisk 18.1) but I've no idea why. Magisk 18.1 is the only version that works. If I flash any other version from twrp my phone gets stuck on the splashscreen, same if I update magisk via magisk manager. And if I try to install any magisk module my phone won't start. But root permission works fine on other apps i.e. system app uninstaller, root explorer or swift installer.
Does anyone have any idea? It'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
