Hello everyone,
My gf have a mi A1 and I love the pictures taken with Gcam, the colors especially are very good!
I wanted to compare Xiaomi A1 Gcam and A2 Gcam, however I can't find anything on the internet.
Does anyone here have both and have made a comparison with a few daylight shots?

Haven't seen any comparison, so I took the A1 and i am very happy with it.
Here are a 3 gcam pictures + 1 panorama (1st image: default app for Panorama, it's better than Gcam) retouched with lightroom mobile:

Personally, I will wait for the A3 or A4 before upgrading, depending on the camera improvements.
If someone have nice shots taken with A2, I would love to see too!

This time I am uploading the Nokia 8 camera app.
I have tested the camera app in stock. It was taking very good hdr pictures. Better than mi a1 and also stock camera.
It was capturing good front camera pictures. With white flash screen.

Yeah true... Doesn't work for me either.. on PE
Works on stock but I can't see any difference to stock camera app pictures, with HDR on.

Tap to focus clearly. Then capture. It worked for me.

I Can confirm that hdr pics are way better than stock cam in low light and less noisy too. Thanks bro for providing this app.
This needs camera 2 API to be activated or rooted?
I'm looking for a better way to take photos but almost every way i found seems to require custom ROMS, camera 2 API enabled, etc. Phone is under warranty and i can't mess with the system at all...

No APIs are needed. Works flawlessly on the stock ROM.
Working Perfectly on Stock Rom. Normal Photos are Batter than Stock Camera app thanks... @Anonymous
there is a bug when i'm trying to take a picture with front camera. Stuck on white flash screen. It has to do with beautify mode.

Arnova's latest has the option I think. But it's just a placeholder. Doesn't actually work.

Use the search function. Gcam mods have max 5 megapixel front and max 12 megapixel rear. For further details as to why, search a bit please.
And by the way, the 5 megapixel front pictures from gcam are several times better than the 20 mp front camera pictures in indoor lighting conditions.

Yes, i have camera2api enabled and the quality of the 12 mp sensor is stunning. But... i want to take adventages from the second sensor. I've tried some fu24 mods but all crashes right away you start the app.

20mp is for the depth sensor and Mi A2 doesn't click pictures of 20mp. (i think so).

I'm not sure about this. In the Mi A2 page says that it uses the 12mp sensor to take daytime photos, and the 20mp to take low light photos. I think that the stock camera app can do this change automatically. But I'm not sure if GCAM app can do this too.
Probably GCAM is using the 12mp to every situation, and doing all the work into software, even to manage the portrait (focus) effect, ignoring the 20mp sensor.
It is possible but you will have only 5Mpx, because it's quadra bayer something technology
On latest pixel experience caf I can switch to low night lens (latest arnova gcam). On stock it doesn't work

In options you can enable second camera.
Pictures are 5mpx in size. There is some pink tint, but not much. Quality is same as using 12mpx camera. I will post samples later.

Only magisk module I have is pixel3 gcam enabler for mi a2(I think I found this on xda). GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk
Quality is not too low it is almost same with 12mp. Color correction is more accurate. It works for only photo and portrait (video,night sight tested others untested)
Edit: for samples I don't have stable interneth connection for now
Edit2: I found a way to use low light lens with night sight. After switching to low light lens just close your camera with your hand. on bottom try night sight will appear if you click that you can use it with night sight

Rom is worthy , better performance than stock Android one also have some extra features such as fast charging,arcore
share a sample photos guys with comparison of 12 mp VS 20 mp of gcam ... so others can know & helpful for us

this is first beta..yes ofcourse all of them need to fix..other then that..the quality of the picture look good..thats all we need to know..

This is probably the best balanced GCam out there. Photos come out very detailed and sharp. Colours aren't overexposed. Needs very little tweak to get it work as you like. And most of all, the buffer fix is just awesome. Not only does it take better balanced photos than almost all of the GCams I've ever tried, it also fixes the ViewFinder lag. This is literally the go-to GCam for all users.
Though, the Night Sight and Photo Booth doesn't work. That's just the only two things to watch out for. Other than that, it's literally the best GCam for Realme 6 for now. 5/5

I don't have any black bar on the left side of the photo. Tested by taking pictures in the same spot using 3 different camera apps.
I can't open video mode . Is there someway to fix it?

Great Camera app btw but For me, the after applying the config the clicking on the other cameras is crashing the app is there any way to fix this?
