This will only apply really to anyone who uses the good Sam app
I am a first responder for the ambulance service and when off duty am normally notified of any cardiac arrest via the good Sam app (my trust sends the arrests via the app to authorised ambulance staff ) I have not had any notifications since I have had the mate 20 pro and missed one last night on the same street where I live
Long shot as it's a limited user app but has anyone had any issues with it ?
I know I'm logged on as I'm shown on the map correctly but don't get any notifications
Thanks

Hello All
I just wanted to warn you all about Phrase Book which have just appeared on the market. It is marked as a free application but after launching it will send a premium sms which can cost you even 5 dollars (I am in Poland and here the cost was 6zl ~= 2dollars). You can't avoid it because application sends the sms in the background without even asking about it!!! There is no word about it in the description too. I have already flagged this application as an inappropriate and I hope that they will remove it from the market.
Here is a webpage of the company which created that app, take a look at the application cost:

Hello,
The application does not send premium sms in a background mode, sms goes only with the consent of the user, the information on cost is given before sending.
At the moment the application is updated according to your wishes, you can establish the improved version free of charge soon.
Is there an application the integrates google voice as it does in Android
There's two Google Voice apps on the marketplace that I've seen - GoVoce (£2.49) and GV Companion (£Free)

Since you already have the paid version. How well is it integrated ? looks like you still need to go in the app to make outgoing calls via google voice. does it share the contacts from the phone or do you have the transfer your contact book to google voice online ?
Go voice is very nice. But I don't think o can use it as phone Vmail.

Bottom line, you're not going to get google voice integration like it is in Android.
That said, GoVoice is a solid application.
It can access your phone's contact list and from the dialer part of the application and you can choose to text or call the person you selected from your contacts list.
You can also carry on threaded text conversations from your google voice inbox via GoVoice.
The only downside is that you don't get notifications from the App when you get a new SMS or voicemail. You can work around those limitations using google voice settings, though..
i.e. you can have it forward your SMS messages to your actual nuimber and you can reply to texts from the native SMS app and have it come from your google voice number to the recipient and you can have Google sms you or e-mail you when you get a voicemail from somebody.
It's not ideal.. but if you want ideal as far as Google Voice support, Android is the only real answer. Perhaps later the developer will be able to set information for live tiles so you can keep track that way.

Thanks for the detailed answer looking forward to seeing next version from the developers
GoVoice is slow and laggy. No push notification as mentioned. can't make calls out still. I have sent the developer an email stating such. There is a way that he sets up a certain number to use to not be charged the international calls. Not a good work around. I did pay for it.
I hope that Google Voice makes it way to the Marketplace. I use it to dial out to China, El Salvador and Vietnam. Comes in really handy.
GV companion is not in the marketplace. He is currently working on it. I think that will be a better app.

Really we can not make any outgoing calls using this APP then it is useless.

This has not been my experience, also a paid user of the app here, my time with the app has been more like the longer reply than this one I've quoted.

I wish I could say the same thing. But if you look at the preview beta video of the GV companion it has so much more functionality. It has been over 35 days since he has tweeted. I am wondering what is happening with the final WP7. I sent a tweet to him and an email. I hope to hear from him soon.
U can use gvoice as default Vmail! Enter gvoice in phone settings.

I am sure this topic has been raised before but I just cant find anything. Anyone that has had an iphone before may be aware of the VIP feature which is nicely intergrated with the mail app. If a contact is a VIP the email is presented as a popup on the lock and home screen. I have been looking high and low for something like this, either in a mail app that has exchange active sync capabilities or an secondary app, for example a great example of such an app is popup notifier (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nlucas.popupnotificationslite) but its filtering simply sucks. In other words its all or nothing you can not nominate contacts to see notifications from.
Does anyone know of such an app, free or otherwise its something that I live by.
for anyone looking for this enotify seems to do the job ok - does not work with active-sync (exchange) but has EWS and IMAP.

I use Touchdown for my corporate mail. Not quite what you're looking for feature wise but it does have one neat trick up it's sleeve I find useful. You can create a client rule (based on subject, sender etc) that speaks who it's from & optionally the subject line.
I regularly do on call so find it useful to get an audible alert if mails arrive into a specific folder or from a specific set of users.
Also if I connect my phone to my motorycle helmet via my Garmin and put it in Car Mode I also get audible alerts if I'm on the road.
Dear fellow xda-ers,
I am an early adopter of Project Fi. I used to have a feature in my previous AT&T number that can send me texts when people send a mail to <my number>@txt.att.net. After multiple searches and chats with various Project Fi Support techs, I now understand that there is no SMS gateway for Project Fi, at least not yet. In this scenario, can the revered xda-ers suggest me a workaround/alternative. The case in point is this; for my work, I get paged when there is a critical/high priority issue that needs my attention. While I was with AT&T, I used to give <my number>@txt.att.net in the call out field and I get a text whenever I am paged. I am trying to get same/similar functionality now. Alternative is to be stuck with a pager, which should be in a museum & not in anyone's hands.
All your suggestions are appreciated!
I have the same issue. I send my alerts to my fi gmail address.
Contact ProjectFi and ask about it. It's like voting.

I'm up the same river. Google Voice USED TO have this feature, e.g. <number>@txt.voice.google.com -- but ProjectFi sadly ditches this for some reason.
If you are looking for email-to-sms, please let Google know. The more people who ask, the more likely it may be (re)implemented. https://support.google.com/fi/contactflow?hl=en
There's some interesting info over at the /r/ProjectFi subreddit. For example:

I probably should have checked this out before I ditched Verizon. Now I have to figure out how to get server alerts from work...
Edit: I ended up creating a label in Gmail and a filter to match specially-addressed messages and assign to that label ([email protected] or [email protected]). Then I configured Gmail app to sync that label and play a certain tone on new/unread messages. I also use the Alert.me app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hidtechs.alertme) which can repeatedly alert on unread Gmail label messages. So it's all the same but as a friend pointed out, would require to always have a Data connection so Gmail app can receive mail.

Another app workaround option is LightFlow which can trigger individual notifications on specific gmail labels. I happen to have already bought this (load of use it is for the abandoned LED on Nexus 6 but I had already bought the paid version so I use it for this now).
I submitted a question through the ProjectFi contact page, and this is the reply I got:
Hi Nate,
Thanks for contacting Project Fi support today! I see in our notes that you're not getting any responses through our SMS gateway.I really wish we did support this but because we use the gateway for our back end it isn't currently something we offer.
Project Fi incorporated a few Google Voice features and in that process, users who use both services don't have all of the same autonomy they used to experience. This article from our Official Project Fi help pages helped me to understand it better: What Google Voice feature I get with Project Fi.
I do get a good deal of questions about the email to text features. Almost everyone who reaches out to us is also able to contact their bank or company and have them send the same notifications through a short-code channel. I hope this helps!
If there is anything else that we can do for you, or you have another question, please feel free to reach out to us anytime. We are always happy to help!!
Thanks!
- Austin

Again, the more people who ask about this, the more likely for it to be implemented.

An IFTTT + Push bullet recipe would work well in this scenario. That would give you the ability to send notifications to multiple devices at once too.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I've done something like this,
(1) Ifttt recipe that'll trigger a text to my phone with content of the paged email I receive by pattern matching the Subject line
(2) As a level 1 redundancy, Have Ifttt call me with the text content
(3) As a level 2 redundancy, Send the mail to Pushover which then sends me a high priority notification straight to the phone
This setup is running fine so far.

Hi everyone, as the title suggests, I have a serious problem with notifications from the Vivo X90PP on Garmin Epix Gen 2.
To be more specific, notifications from all apps on the phone are ALL working, except Whatsapp message notifications for one-time chats and group chats. Phone calls on whatsapp, the backup start notification, arrive and are displayed on the Garmin Epix, only the messages NO!
I gave every existing permission on the smartphone and the garmin, I also tried to format the garmin and install WA again. NOTHING. They worked for a day (Monday) then yesterday morning it stopped sending WA Business notifications and normal WA in the afternoon (I use the phone in dual sim).
I tried with only one account on the device at a time, but nothing. I don't know what to do anymore, I also wrote to Garmin Assistance and I'm waiting for a reply, and above all I trust a lot in the help of the XDA community.
I forgot, all the Apps are updated to the latest version and Vivo is with version PD2227B_A_13.0.20.7.W10.V000L1 (any news for security updates and various improvements to the software?).
I thank all those who will and can help me.
Update: I'm trying a Galaxy Watch 3 with TizenOS, same problem here too. No notification of W.A. messages only. Could it be a W.A. app settings/permissions issue?
I'm receiving my Epix 2 PRO on Tuesday, I will let you know if I have the same problem.
Update: The problem lay in the DARK mode. I deactivated the dark mode, I was able to verify that everything is now working. Setting the black theme through a single app doesn't create the problem, the problem is only through the dark theme through the VIVO settings. I hope this feedback helps
