I used adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.amazon.cloud9 to remove the Silk browser and would like to restore it. I have tried several things but no luck. Can anyone tell me how it is done if possible?
thanks,

This action can not be reversed short of performing a 'factory reset' or reinstalling (sideloading) FireOS via stock recovery.
thanks
I figured that. Sure am glad I did not uninstall many other programs. Instead, I just grouped all under one 'Group Icon' that I named STUFF, and then installed the Apex launcher from the Google store. When the tablet defaults back to the fire launcher, (even with the LauncherHijackV3.apk installed), I just click on the Apex icon and a simple replacement desktop with BIG icons is there for my mom with no ads or other screens.
Thanks for your reply.

Thanks to everyone much more adept than I am and who write clear directions, I've been able to root my NC and load APK files onto it using ADB. But, being the relative newbie that I am, here's my question--how do I REMOVE applications that I either don't want or that don't seem to work once I install them? I don't see an ADB command for that, but maybe I'm missing it. Thanks!
If you haven't already, install LauncherPro. Then to uninstall apps all you have to do is drag the program icon icon that you want to uninstall over to the the trash can on the homescreen. Hold it over the trashcan until the "drop to unisntall" comes up and then release the icon. Done and done.
I installed Launcher Pro, and dragged the icons to the trash can. But the apps still show up in my list of apps (in Launcher Pro) and in the Extras of the NC. I want to get rid of them entirely. Should I use Terminal Emulator to do that? And if so, what's a good apk file for that?
Thanks!

If you follow my instructions carefully it will uninstall the app. You have to hold the icon over the trashcan until the dialog pops up. Then release.

adw also does this. just as a note.
Additionally, using task killer, open the program, and then open ATK. long press on the app in the list, and select "details/force stop". There's an option to uninstall the app from that list.

I thought I had replied that I had realized I hadn't followed your instructions to the letter but that on re-reading, I recognized you had given me the answer. (I also clicked on thanks). Apparently the "quick reply" didn't get the job done. Chalk it up to my inexperience.
Everybody should be using Titanium Backup. It is probably the single most useful app I have.
You can uninstall, "Freeze", and back up. Its one of the few apps I've paid for and its worth it. The free version is fine too.

Is that clear?
Hello,
I installed AVG from the android market to my rooted NC and when i uninstalled it. . . I wasn't able to get rid of the message ("this phone belonged to:xx protected by antivirus" at the lock screen next to the time.
How do I get rid of it?
I though the uninstall would get rid of this addition, but it hasnt.
HELP!
Try reinstalling AVG, disabling that feature, then uninstalling AVG again.
reinstalled and no option to take it out
How do i get rid of it. Help.
How did you uninstall it?
After you posted, I installed it from market, ran a scan, laughed that it found super user as malware, saw the banner on the the lock page, long pressed the icon to bring it to desktop, long pressed again and dragged it to the trashcan and did not release till I got the uninstall pop up. Looked at lock screen and banner was gone.
I am using Launcherpro. I do not know if other launchers uninstall apps like that, adw does too.
THANKS!
thanks! it helped alot. yeah, the problem was that i was using the market app uninstaller. I am using launcher pro and your instructions got rid of the text.
Thanks!
yup Launcher pro works.
just the treat.
Cheers

You could just reset the watch or enable debugging and use
adb uninstall package
Maybe it's just Marshmallow but should my FB messenger icon not have the number for the amount of messages I received? Same with texts, missed calls etc nothing shows. Ok I'm reading a thread that someone had the same question and it mentions Nova launcher. Do I need a new launcher or is there an app to add it?
the n6 does not do that by default. the lg phone is also running lg software on top of android, that's where your numbers are coming from.
I'm happy with asus zenui launcher, it shows what you need.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.launcher
The Asus launcher is fine if you happen to like the iCrap look.
There are multiple third-party launchers that have an unread counts notification. Most require you to download a separate app to provide the functions. Many will require you to purchase their "Pro" version to get it. Best of the bunch is Nova, hands down.
Cool thanks everyone. I'm gonna try the Zenui launcher and see how I like it
How do I uninstall Zenui? I'm googling but my "uninstall" button is greyed out in the apps section

In settings under security there is a device administrators section. If an app is set as a device administrator it will cause the uninstall button to be greyed out. If you uncheck the box so the app is no longer a device administrator you will be able to uninstall it.

just got my x2 pro and i am having trouble in turning on "swipe left for google now feed" feature. have never used color os before so i am clueless. please help me out.
It is very possible the Feed is not on that launcher. You may need to install a third party launcher to do that.

i got it working perfectly but it took some time to get it to work right.
i am using nova/nova prime and downloaded the nova google companion apk from teslacoils website.
this is what i did in this order:
download nova(and nova prime if you have it)
use adb to uninstall the stock launcher(com.oppo.launcher)for swipe gesture controls to work you can only use the back on left or right bottom selection
use adb to uninstall the oem browser (com.nearme.browser)
use adb to uninstall athena (com.coloros.athena)<--- once you remove this when going to recent app you will have to swipe them away manually to close the X will not close them
use adb to uninstall (com.oppo.quicksearchbox)
then go to google and type in nova google companion (should see a link to download the apk) install it
give nova/nova prime/companion all autostart/background running permissions
it should work after those steps are followed. also the good new is once the athena is removed notifications come through without issue for 3rd party apps (facebook/instagram/snapchat etc) just have to give all permissions to display (autostart is only allowed for 5 non system apps) bust since athena is gone even the apps that i dont have autostarting are coming through without delay.
hope this helps!!!
