DND still setable by apps? - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

I use Macrodroid to set "Do not disturb" but lately it doesn't work.
Does it still work for you in Android 9 with the latest security patch?
Maybe not only with Macrodroid but also other apps that set DND.

I found out that apps seemingly can only set the mode you preset in the settings anymore.
I set DND to alarm only but the app should have set block all mode.
This doesn't work. The app has to set the same mode as set in settings. Then it will work again.

Google now reminders ignoring Interruptions settings in Priority mode?

I'm on 5.1. I want to set priority mode so that it behaves similarly to the old silent mode on prior Android versions. For example, when I'm sleeping, I want to set up priority mode so that I ONLY get alarms (no sound or vibrate for calls, messages, reminders, other app notifications, etc.).
Anyway, I have configured the following settings:
When calls and notifications arrive -> Allow only priority interruptions
Priority interruptions:
Events and reminders -> ***OFF***
Calls -> OFF
Messages -> OFF
My problem is that, even though "Events and reminders" is set to OFF, I STILL get a notification sound and vibration for reminders set within Google Now. However, this DOESN'T happen for reminders attached to notes within Google Keep. I haven't yet tested all the other possibilities with Calendar events and reminders.
In the "App notifications" settings for the "Google App", Priority is OFF.
What is the expected behavior?
This seems like a bug to me.
As an additional comment, it seems like it would be useful to have customizable presets for the Interruptions settings. Depending on the situation, I may want to configure interruption settings differently. For example, sleep vs. in-a-meeting vs. driving vs. in-a-movie-theater, etc. Rather than having a single "Priority" mode, there could be a drop-down where you select from an arbitrary number of customized presets.
Finally, how do the per-app notification priority settings interact with the Interruptions settings? For example, what is supposed to happen if I turn on Priority in the per-app notifications settings for Hangouts, but have Messages OFF in the Interruptions settings. What happens when I get an SMS?

Have you checked the settings in the Google Now app itself? Notifications are set up as either priority or none for the app. Looks like they are set to priority by default. Google Now> tap the 3 lines and select settings> Now Cards.... see the screenshots below.
I have Ringtone set to silent and vibrate turned on. In priority mode, I still get a sound for reminders. I don't really understand what these settings do.

Clock alarm issues

Hello all,
I have noticed the following issues.
1. When using the built in Android alarm in conjunction with automatic "do not disturb" rules, the alarms only works for a couple of days. After that, it will not go off. I must turn off and then back on to get the alarm to sound in the morning.
2. When I use the huawei alarm in conjunction with automatic " do not disturb" rules, the alarm will never sound. If I unlock the phone, then the alarm will go off. I have ensured that priority notification was wet in the alarm settings and from the app menu.
If I "must" wake up, for example for a flight or something, it is impossible to trust the P20 Pro. I need to fire up my old iphone to make sure my alarm goes off. The last flight I had last week, the iphone saved me because the P20 wasn't interested in sounding the alarm.
Anyone else have these issues?
Yes I have the same issue! Very annoying
Kinda disappointed as I thought I've found the perfect phone
I have to make sure my DND mode ends before my alarm to make it work. The alarm override option in DND does not work
Fixed!!!
Go to Settings > Apps & Notification > Apps > Clock > Notifications
And turn on "Priority Display"
Now it works!
Your DND setting must be Priority. Doesn't work with alarm only.

[Huawei Mate 20 + Android 9] Tasker does not execute tasks

Hello guys,
I try to set tasker to my new Mate 20 phone. I installed it with all authorizations, and I disabled the automatic save power control.
I set a first task – turn Bluetooth ON at 9AM. The task is running but at 9AM the Bluetooth is steel OFF and on the screen I have a popup “Allow Tasker to enable Bluetooth ?”.
A second task – Put the phone in Vibration mode at 10AM. At 10AM the phone switch to Vibration, but on the screen I have another popup “The vibration mode is activated”.
Why these popups, what I missed ?
Thanks for your help
Sounds like those popups came from another app. Maybe some security app or a preinstalled app from Huawei, which monitors who enables / disables system services. Do you see those popus also when you enable / disable bluetooth in the phone settings?
Try to identify the app / service owner of the popup by pressing long onto the popup. When you see a context menue choose app info.

Automatic Do Not Disturb

With my Pixel 3 I could set it to automatically go into Do Not Disturb during a calendar event (such as a meeting). I can't find this setting on the S10. Is it there, or is there an app that will do it automatically?

You can set this up in Tasker. It's a bit of a learning curve to create each scenario you want, but it can work very well.
I currently have it changing my sound mode to Vibrate and media volume to 1 when I connect to my work's WiFi. And then it will change the sound mode to Normal and media volume Max when I connect to my car's bluetooth.
I'm using Bixby Routines to set separate Do Not Disturb rules - one for weekends and one for weekdays. Surprised Samsung didn't include this ability in the Do Not Disturb settings like the Pixels have.

[Q] Notifications

By default these were set to off, and now I seem to have to go through app by app to check they can all show. Does this sound right? Is there a way to just turn them all on?
