I have a MI A2 converted to MI6x (wayne).
Everyone who mentions miui roms Always says "remove the Firmware Folder to remove arb protection".
in the Xiaomi.eu Forum it states that arb is removed in their roms but they still include the Firmware Folder
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/do-eu-roms-remove-anti-rollback.47145/
This gets now a bit confusing:
1) Is the Firmware Folder just for installing ARB or does it also add bugfixes?
2) Do Xiaomi.eu roms for the MI6X (wayne) add ARB protection or not
What be great if someone could answer both Questions.
Thanks
What I always do is remove the firmware folder no matter if ROM says ARB removed or not.
What I do instead is flash the non-arb firmware myself.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xiaomi-firmware-updater/
Go over to files -> non-arb -> select build -> wayne
This way you are always on the safe site

Thanks for you reply but there is still the question about the firmware folder in general.
Does it also contain fixes or just brings arb protection?
Did you find an answer to your original question? As it has been a few months and I still cannot find one and clear answer myself.

First time I flashed, I removed the firmware update folder. And consequent updates from xiaomi.eu, I've downloaded and flashed or used OTA without deleting any folders. I haven't fallen into the ARB trap. I was using miui for about 4 months at a stretch from xiaomi.eu so I've flashed multiple beta releases.
ARB
fastboot flash antirbpass dummy.img
you have to flash dummy/unlock every time you go into fastboot, or ARB will block your commands

Hi guys ! I have my k20 pro from 2019 and I never had access to any apps like netflix or mcdonals cause of some insecure software idrk to be honest. Anyways I want to use nfc and I actually can't . Did some research and just found out about eu rom might work but I'm new to this type of things and I need some help to flash the new rom and where to get it from .
These are some phone specs :
I have raphaelin ( aida64 )
K20pro 64 gb rom and 6gb ram
MIUI 12.0.5 Stable - Global rom
Model : M1903F11A
Kernel vers : 4. 14.117-perf-g97c1088
If someone can help I will be more than thankful !
My bootloader is unlocked btw but I don't have TWRP
where did u purchase your k20 pro from.
In India only 6-128 and 8-256 variants are there not 6-64 and also indian variant or model has no nfc.
As per phone codename raphaelin is indian device codename but how come u have 6-64gb model.
It doesn't matter whichever rom u install if ur device doesn't have nfc hardware it won't work and indian model has no nfc support...
I already found out it's 100% percent a Chinese device flashed with India rom. Now I need help to change it
OK, so just to clarify things to avoid future confusion.
Xiaomi label any MIUI version that is not Chinese as 'Global'. This is when you look in the about phone section and see MIUI x.y.z Global ROM. However this description covers 4 separate versions - India, EU/EEA, Russia and everywhere else (true Global).
In order to change region you need to flash the appropriate fastboot ROM. This is the official guide to flashing fastboot ROMs.
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
You will need to view the page in desktop mode on a mobile device, otherwise you'll just see a blank page.
The guide has download links for the latest versions for all devices, however it's probably easiest to find the ROM you want from here
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
Select the EEA fastboot ROM.
WARNING
You can not lock the bootloader of a Chinese phone when flashing a non-Chinese ROM. Trying to do this will hard brick the phone. See this from the official forums.
https://c.mi.com/thread-2584760-1-0.html
WARNING
The Mi Flash Tool default flashing option is to flash the ROM and lock the bootloader. If you do not pay attention when flashing you could easily hard brick the phone.
The Mi Flash Tool runs batch scripts contained in the ROM to flash the ROM. The easiest way to avoid bricking the phone is to manually delete the batch script from the ROM before running the tool.
In order to flash the fastboot ROM, it needs to be fully extracted. After extracting it browse the contents of the extracted folder. You'll see a bunch of .bat and .sh files.
Delete the flash-all-lock.bat and flash-all-lock.sh files before doing anything else. (Names of the files might not be exact but you'll know which ones I mean when you see them).
When running the Mi Flash Tool, before hitting the flash button, change the option at the bottom of the app to 'clean all'. If you leave it on the default option and you've deleted the batch scripts above then you'll only get an error that it can't find the batch file.
So now after updating to the EU ROM, you'll have NFC working, but you are still going to have a bunch of issues with financial and tap to pay apps. The security problems you've seen so far have not been around insecure software, but because the bootloader is unlocked, and this is still going to cause you problems. There is something called the SafetyNet test, within android, which fails when run on phones with an unlocked bootloader. Apps that care about security will call the test and fail to run if it fails. To get around these issues you will need to install Magisk. Currently Magisk can spoof the test to give a positive result.
You'll also need to setup Magisk to hide itself from apps that perform security checks before launching, such as financial apps.
Only download Magisk from the official source.

i am trying since days to find a way to update my phone to version 12.5.7.0 without success, any body can help to solve my problem.
thank you!
Is that downloaded ROM is fastboot or flashable .zip file ?
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Pro_MI11Ultra_V12.5.7.0.RKACNXM_v12-11
this is the name, i don't know what kind of ROM!
The update was received automatically trough OTA or did you downloaded the update manually ?
I had to download the full 4GB or so 15.5.7 update because the incremental one wasn't working.
Please let me know if you need assistance on installing the full update. You can find the rom on one of the threads on this forum.
Good luck !

From the filename it's not the Global ROM but the Xiaomi.EU custom ROM.
This would also mean it's an update to be flashed using TWRP.
Sadly for now the update through system settings doesn't work as TWRP doesn't presently support this feature.
So you need to download the update (which you apparently did ), then boot into TWRP and flash the update from there.

Reboot to TWRP ( use can use the shortcut in settings, device settings, my device and click on the 3 dots top right for menu). Once in twrp, enter screen lock password press return. Select install, select update zip file and slide the slider to the right to flash.
Once done select wipe cache and dalvik, slide the slider to the right to wipe, then select reboot system. This will not format your data as long as it's the same ROM branch you are updating, IE EU weekly to weekly, stable to stable or stock to same stock.
It will take longer to reboot first time but as long as you see miui and 5g, just wait, it will be fine.

You need TWRP to flash that
here is the problem, i have downloaded the TWRP and followed the instructions but the device booted in Chinese language, i have mixed up and stopped the procedure!
Did twrp boot in to Chinese or the ROM? If it's twrp, just type in your screen lock password, then look for settings and select the globe to change to English.
If your ROM is now in Chinese, you flashed the wrong ROM.

my ROM is global, the phone was in Chinese and i have unlocked the bootloader after waiting 336 hours, then flash the Chinese ROM to Global V12.5.5.0, after that i had a message that there is a new update to V12.5.7.0 and here i have stuck!
Yay done with the Mi 11 Pro, only thing I didn't notice was reboot after installation not sure where that is, had to manual restart but updated none the less.
Hi! I have been racking my brain at trying to figure out how to rollback to stock firmware because I have a faulty camera module so I cant take pictures of x1 zoom without it becoming a blurry mess.
The device is under warranty and they told me that I can send it in. However right now I have the latest xiaomi.eu rom weekly rom and I am under the assumption that you have to go back to stock before sending it in for warranty.
I have downloaded the latest version of Miflash 20220507 and downloaded the latest stock rom I could find but it ended up giving a error message. I tried the other method of using TWRP but that also ended in error, I have tried using both the global and EEA rom.
The only guides I can find says to use Miflash and find the approiate rom so not much guidance there.
Try searching that error code you've got in miflash
Which version of the rom should I apply (From Sweden) Global or EEA?
Been using this website for the Stock ROM - https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/venus/
Thanks for taking your time to reply so far!

I'm not on MI 11 but Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, but method is the same
Install the following app to download the correct FASTBOOT (tgz) ROM type for your phone - choose Global or EEA (India, etc, as you wish):
MIUI Downloader - Apps on Google Play
MIUI upgrade app for Mi users.
play.google.com
To uncompress, you first need to un-gzip and then to un-tar
Copy the uncompressed content to your adb/fastboot folder on the PC
You will see three BAT scripts (for Linux users SH scripts)
You need to use the following (to flash and FORMAT, but WITHOUT relocking Bootloader):
flash_all.bat
(read the rest before flashing)
Why not relocking BL - bcs, if anything goes wrong and you already relock BL, you will have a bricked phone that requires paid EDL support to fix (not covered by warranty)
You can relock later:
fastboot oem lock
when you make sure that stock ROM works correctly - if you really want so (not sure if relocking is required for warranty).
As long as BL is not locked, you still have chances to flash again or different ROM until you get everything ok
Hence open thar bat file in Notepad and check its last lines, that script does not relock BL (before it's last command to reboot the phone) - if the script wants to relock, delete that line
Also, in the Notepad inspect first three or four lines of the script. They are about anti-rollback. Since you are coming back from Xiaomi.eu, might be that anti-rollback will block you to proceed with flashing
Carefully inspect those first three or four first lines (you don't need to be a programmer to understand), and remove them
(I cannot give you more precise details, I would have to download again 3.5 GB tgz file, uncompress, etc - I WON'T do that again, when I needed for myself I did and then cleaned almost 20 GB from my PC)
Then run that edited BAT script. It will flash the full stock ROM (without bothering about anti-rollback), and will not relock your BL. Reboot (if script does not automatically) and configure your 'new' stock
Which is mandatory to be under warranty - Global or EEA - you said to pick as you wish but I am just making sure its all in order before going forward - I will start downloading it now and trying it out! Thanks for your help thus far.

How do I know how/where did you buy your phone and what is mandatory for your warranty?
Usually, it would make sense that you put the same, Global or EEA that was on your phone when you bought. You should know what did you have
My apologies for not mentioning it, but its bought in Sweden, (Europe), and reading the warranty rules; it says no modifications allowed to the phone, but I am not reading anything about software. Xiaomi.EU did, however, mention that you should flash stock. I cant remember what was on the device originally as I did a fastboot flash.
Having EU means you've unlocked your bootloader. It shouldn't be a big deal tho, you will be able to get it repaired under warranty because Xiaomi doesn't really go into details of unlocked bootloader.
Please post the error code/screenshots from MiFlash for the errors you faced.
Also, it's pretty easy to figure out whether you had a Chinese or global variant. If the box and all the info on it was English, you can flash any of the Global versions (EEA, MI, IN, etc)
It doesn't matter really as long as your phone was a Global variant and not a Chinese one.
Please answer my all questions properly .
how to unroot redmi note 9 but there are some conditions will it still work though -:

Please reply all the questions..
Am regretting why I rooted without having zero knowledge please help me
Unfortunately, downgrading from MIUI 13 (A12) to MIUI 12 (A10/11) is/may not (be) possible because of the security patches and MIUI's anti-rollback feature. I could only downgrade my MIUI 12 back to 11 as it was still Android 10. You can unroot your device by flashing the MIUI using the Mi Flash. Just remember to choose a lock option and not Wipe Internal storage as you may lose the IMEI numbers and the whole NVRAM. I can't verify if it will work for you. It worked on my Redmi Note 9 Global (EEA). Also, I'm not sure about the MIUI and Android vendor downgrading as I've seen many people hard bricking their devices by forcing and bypassing the MIUI Recovery "Can't downgrade this MIUI version" error. Maybe I'm wrong in something. Feel free to criticize and fix my mistakes. Unlocking a bootloader and flashing a custom ROM is considered to be "irreversible and permanent" as the user's goal may be to get rid of the MIUI and full control of the phone/OS.

Lock option locks the bootloader, like it came out of box. You can find the boot.img file in the ROM's package or in the MIUI's folder called Images. Lock option needs to wipe the device as it's enabling back the security layers to the memory to prevent injecting bad codes into the device. Unlocking disables it on the other side, that's why a full wipe is necessary.

You can download the rom offer with a pc then put it on the phone and update via update, 3 points at the top right select the update file and so on to arrive at the last.
If the bootloader is unlocked use Miflash or TWRP it will go faster.
