Help with installing Viper4Android.

I have tried installing different ROMs like Cyanogen 14.1 (LineageOS), AOSP, and XenonHD all of which are based on 7.1.1 r6, but I haven't been able to install Viper4Android 2.4.0.1.
First of all, I don't really know how to make a clean install but I had installed SuperSU 2.79, SElinux Mode Changer and BusyBox by Stericsson.
The only thing I have achieved was for V4A to process only media files inside storage. Soundcloud, Youtube, and any other app did not get processed by it. :crying:
Please, can someone help me install a version of 2.4.0.1 that works?
PD: I dob't want the newer 2.5.0.5 because I don't like the new UI. Viper4Arise is also acceptable .:good:

Did you uninstall AudioFx that came in with CM? I was able to flash viperdroid and make it work by removing it first.

The thing is, on my other phone, when I went to the System App Uninstaller with Root, I was able to find MusicFX, but on CM there is only a misterious thing called CM Audio Serivice and a thing called Ant HAL.
I can only get it partially working though.
I have found soume posts on the official Viper4Android XDA forum saying you have to make a clean rom installation, remove audio_effects.conf, install v4a, then supersu, then Selinux changer, then busybox, finally install v4a drivers and then remove Deep_buffer entries from Audio_policy_configuration.conf
I'll try it this weekend when I have time though.

In my CM 14.1 didnt have much difficulty though in flashing viper4droid. Hope u fix yours.

CM 14.1 (Now LineageOS has no problems in Viper4droid) due to bandwidth issues, i dont use soundcloud, however playing local mp3 files, audio seems fine.

Difference between Viper4Android and Viper4Arise?

I am coming to the modding game after an year or so.. I have been seeing Viper4Arise a lot. I wanted to know whats was the difference between Android and Arise. If it is same, why the same name?
I have being trying to get V4Android working with a few roms. I would also like to know which roms are recommended for V4A or even V4Arise(if it performs as good as V4Android).
I have tried RR v5.8.0 but couldnt get V4Android working on it. Also tried Tugapower which is supposed to have V4Arise preinstalled but was so unstable that I dint get a chance to test Arise out. Currently I am sitting on a wiped phone and waiting for a reply here.
I would prefer a rom on which V4Android/(Arise?) installation is easy and has some customization(optional)
(I would really love it if you could provide a detailed guide for installing V4A if possible)

Installed via TWRP rather than using magisk for any of the modules.
I also flashed ahrion's Dolby Atmos module which works alongside V4A.

I think Viper 4 arise is a new team of people and some were working on The v4 Android but moved onto the new project.

[OOS5] Audio mods causing OOS to factory reset

Hi,
Just found a strange bug on OOS5 OB1. When installing ARISE, (core and v4a), OOS is rebooting fine then after few seconds a dialog is opened for factory reset : https://i.imgur.com/KCM2EZI.jpg
Same thing is happening with other audio mods such as XTREMEMusic Mod.
I suspect that it is because Dolby's apps are beeing uninstalled while mods are installing so OOS wants a factory reset to recover it.
Anyone have the same issue? And a working audio mod?

Uh sorry i forgot to mention i don't use V4A... :/

I solved V4A by setting selinux to permissive, all is good now except some force closes but the sound is really awesome, thanks for having shared the project ahah

Ainur should be fine regardless of android versions, tho bugs may come out

Just use :
1- [MODULE] Magisk SELinux Permissive Script v1.1
2- Install the Viper4Android 2.5.0.5 v2.2 on MagiskManager repo
All is fine, no bug, no force close

**As an alternative, Dolby Digital Plus apk can be used. No root required.
It's not as comprehensive but will enhance your music listening experience.

This version of Dolby Atmos is working on Oreo. Had no luck with other versions.
I downloaded DolbyAtmos_Axon7_Oreo_20180125.zip to be precise.
I installed via recovery TWRP. Not Magisk. I took no other steps than to download the file listed above, install via TWRP and reboot.
Later I installed Viper4android via Magisk. Both are working fine.

I did install using TWRP and did not use magisk. None of the existing magisk modules worked for me. I don't believe SuperSU would be a hindrance at all.

This didnt work for me in the latest SuperXE ROM.
My phone went bootlooping.

Also, install via TWRP not Magisk. That's what's working for me. Good luck now!
I'm on superxe room myself. Other versions made me bootloop. Make sure you download DolbyAtmos_Axon7_Oreo_20180125.zip. That's the one that's working for me.

How do we know if dolby atmos is enabled after downloading viper and this mod?
I downloaded the zte axon 7 unity version and flask in magisk but got force close every time i open the dolby atmos app. Is that the one you uses?

I never got any of the Dolby modules to work for me through Magisk. Maybe some have, but I did not.
Instead i installed this particular zip version with my recovery TWRP (not Magisk) and it is working fine. Make sure you install by booting into recovery, then installing it via TWRP.
Make sense? ?

Working perfectly on latest lineage os 15.1......on normal speakers I didn't find much difference but headset definitely has a difference. The audio quality is superb....not placebo......... Working perfectly!!!!!!

Will this work on my 6p running Resurrection Remix Oreo? And how do i install viper4android? RROS comes with audiofx but its not all that good at times.

I have no reason to believe that it would not work.
I personally installed this module through TWRP. Not Magisk. But I did install Viper FX through Magisk. Both are working.

I've been using that version of viper since I got the phone and haven't run into any issues. I do however also have the audio modification library and audio compatibility patch modules installed as well. If those don't help, then I think there is a larger issue.
PS - I've used both the latest stable and the canary Magisk builds without issues.

Which kernel are you using? I'm using ElementalX 1.05.
Tried with audio modification library and compatibily patch modules but didn't work. Everytime i start the google camera, it crashes.

I've used both stock and elemental kernels. I'm currently on elemental 1.05 with TWRP installed.

Really, i don't know where to start. I've flashed stock rom wiping everything some days ago. So, my phone is clean. I've the latest Magisk stable and elementalx 1.05.
All i can do is try to dirty flash stock rom again and install twrp, magisk and elementalx and try another time.
About audio compatibily patch, there are really too many options and i don't know where to start to install it correctly..... but i don't think google camera crashes because of that......
Same problem if i install Viper4Android FX Legacy module.

I would be surprised if the audio compatibility patch caused an issue too. Honestly I had forgotten about the initial options that I had to choose when I installed it. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it and only chose the "notification remover" option and then opted out of the lib use (last option). I use the headphone jack, so I don't need a USB DAC (does this phone even have one?), nor do I use Spotify, etc.
However, it is important to install the audio modification library last. It should find both the Audio Compatibility Patch as well as Viper4Android and patch both to work together. I might suggest that you uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall it to ensure it is actually patching both audio modification. Also, make sure the driver is actually installed in Viper if you end up reinstalling any of these mods as you might find that the driver isn't actually installed. It's a long shot, but perhaps that would fix your issue.
I'm also using the leaked camera version 6.3.017.253834016 currently (because it has the night sight setting as a main option instead of buried in the "more" settings). But this really shouldn't matter and the stock camera app worked just fine too. Tried exactly what you said. Same issue, Google Camera crashes on start. Every V4A version i tried, same thing.... Well, i don't know what to try more..... Asked on official V4A thread but no answer. Is there any way to provide logs to discover what happen?

Dirty flashed August factory image, Elementalx, TWRP and Magisk. Same issue. Anyone who can help me taking a look at the logs?

The only issue that i have is that v4a is marked as harmful by Google protect. Anyone else?

Pixel 2 xl user here with the latest viper4android on android 10, same camera app is crashing on me

I've never had any real issues getting Viper4Android to work on Android 10, but I understand it is a common issue. Here is a Pixel 4 thread on installing Viper4Android on Android 10 and how they got it to work. The fact that it is on a Pixel 4 device is irrelevant. Perhaps this can help you get the driver installed.
PS - I should mention that I already was using the audio compatibility module and the audio modification module prior to moving to Android 10, so it is quite possible that is why I never experienced any issues.
