Hi,
I flashed a custom rom (Imaginary ICS Final) on my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 and now the in-call audio wont play over the bluetooth stereo in my Toyota Yaris.
Music plays fine through the speakers, but the actual call audio occurs solely on my phone speaker in headset mode.
I have tried:
- removing the existing "GT-S5830" from the paired devices and re-pairing them on the stereo OSD.
- pairing the phone as "audio/phone" and then as just "phone" following the stereo manual to the tee.
- restoring my nandroid backups in CWM, but they don't work.
- flashing some different custom and stock roms with CWM, but the issue persists.
- flashing an official stock firmware from samfirmware.com with odin, but the issue persists.
Can anyone suggest further avenues of troubleshooting for me to try?
See next post.
So I did some more research and there were a few people talking about how the wireless and bluetooth radios operate according to the baseband version.
Then there were also people talking about how flashing the firmware for a different region often fixes issues with the wireless/bluetooth.
Anyway, I went back to the samfirmware page and downloaded the latest firmware for Vietnam (version 2.3.6 PDA: S5830DXKT7) and flashed it via odin. (The baseband with this firmware is S5830DXKT5)
Audio now goes through my stereo again!
Phone model : oneplus 3t 128gb.

been using Oreo stable all was working ok until i stopped hearing during a call,i hear the ringtone i pickup using voice answer feature or button and then nothing=silence.
paring is ok , i tried multiple devices.
i can listen to youtube , music from google play etc , but nothing during calls whether i`m calling or someone calling me.
all three options are ticked(phone audio, media audio, contact sharing)
tried to: factory reset, full wipe and installing open beta, installing nougat stable 4.5.1 ,disabling Bluetooth and WiFi scanning , clearing Bluetooth cache.
all clean installs.
i connected my bluetooth headsets to my samsung i9100 and everything works ok.
also tried booting on safe mode and same problem.
Hello,
I'm trying to fix Bluetooth audio routing issues on Pie vendor + GSI installations. Basically, the phone can connect to the Bluetooth speakers but the audio still comes out of the phone speakers. Please comment below and let me know if it works for you and if yes, what vendor and ROM you're using (no MIUI based) so that I can try to fix it. Thanks.
I'm using 8.11.15 vendor provided by UtkuAblak in his thread. Not working also. Same to yours, can connect but media goes out via phone speaker.
ROM: Havoc 2.0 & 2.1 beta
I'm wondering how I can upgrade my vendor without losing data? The system keeps noticing me that I should use the PQ1A.190105.004 vendor image.

Thanks for reporting. I've never seen that kind of notification, I'd probably ignore that message as I think it's an Havoc bug. Anyway, I would advise against flashing only vendor as every time I've tried to do that I ended up with a bootloop or super weird issues.
@Prabin813 could you connect to the Bluetooth speakers, play something and post the output of
Code:
adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager | grep -A 45 "Profile: A2dpService"
?

I know, that's why I'm asking you. I need an example from a working installation.
well someone in the telegram group said that
i use miui eu 8.11.15 vendor and delete /system/vendor/overlay/blutoothrescommon.apk. restart and bluetooth earphone works for me, not try bluetooth incall.

Turns out, Bluetooth for me works out of the box with Xiaomi eu 9.1.4 vendor (which broke hotspot, though).
I'm struggling with GSI vs Bluetooth tonight:
1. I don't see a EU ROM v9.1.4
2. on EU ROM 9.1.3 as a base I don't have a BT at all (phone pairs, no BT call, no BT audio)
3. on EU ROM 9.1.24 and 10.2.2.0 as a base I don't have BT call (phone pairs, no BT call, BT audio works fine).
Did anyone managed to work both BT call and BT audio on GSI? I wonder if the problem is with:
a. GSI ROM
b. Vendor
c. BT Firmware

I use china 9.1.24 vendor and eu 9.1.24. I think I mistyped it in my previous post.
I have done quite many tests, none combination fully worked for me.
On Android 8.1 Oreo I based on:
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_8.10.25_v10-8.1
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_8.10.11_v10-8.1
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_8.9.20_v10-8.1
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_V10.0.1.0.OEBCNFH_v10-8.1
On those bases I flashed many different Oreo GSI System Images builds: ArrowOS, Bootleggers, CosmiOS, CrDroid, dotOS, Dirty Unicorns, Havoc, Resurrection Remix, XenonHD. Some of these with different builds. Most of them BT audio streaming was good, but BT call was broken. Only two ROMs were different, the other way arround actually. BT call was good, but, BT audio was silence These two were ArrowOS GSI and lineage-15.1-20190204-UNOFFICIAL-sirius, which is a proper custom ROM for Mi8SE.
On Android 9 Pie I based on:
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_9.1.24_v10-9
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_9.1.3_v10-9
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_V10.2.2.0.PEBCNXM_v10-9
And the results are the same. All of the ROMs I tried (a least 10 different) BT audio is good, but BT call doesn't work, the in-call sounds go to the phone earpiece.
I honestly don't understand the situation and I don't have any more ideas to make more tests. It looks like it is not a Vendor problem, or at least not only a Vendor problem, as on Oreo I tried many GSI without a luck and finally I flashed this ArrowOS (system partition only as usual) and BT call sudenly worked. And it was not a coincidence, as I tried the same procedure a few times.
As much as I love AOSP ROMs this is the first phone that I cannot find a properly working build due to the BT calls issue, that I use quite a lot.

It could be that it's not only a vendor issue, maybe make sure the GSIs you're flashing are up to date. Most GSIs I find on here are pretty old builds so they might not have the latest phh patches.
Also, you didn't mention the china rom you have as base, I know xiaomi.eu flashes basically everything, including firmware and boot.img, but who knows.
edit: have a look here https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/issues/347
another guy said to delete a file in vendor, I guess you could try that
I have tried to delete bluetoothrescommon.apk from Vendor before, but it didn't help.
About GSI releases... I have downloaded and tested about 20-30 different builds, Oreo and Pie, from aprox 2018-04 till the latests 2019-02.
I haven't tried any official MIUI ROMs like China Dev/Stable. I'm afraid of getting Anti Rollback. Must read some more information if it is safe.
I did a few more tests with China ROMs this time, Dev and Stable Pie (no Anti Rollback triggered ):
miui_MI8SE_9.1.24_5b8ecb2326_9.0
miui_MI8SE_9.2.15_5acb027cb1_9.0
miui_MI8SE_V10.2.2.0.PEBCNXM_711395aa40_9.0
But still no luck. The Bluetooth behaviour is always the same for me:
- BT call and BT audio works fine on every MIUI ROM (Apt-X available as a bonus)
- on GSI ROMs BT audio works, but BT call goes on the phone's ear speaker
I also stacked with Fastboot problem after flashing China Stable miui_MI8SE_V10.2.2.0.PEBCNXM_711395aa40_9.0. Could not run any MIUI EU, could not even enter TWRP after a correct fastboot flashing. Just like recovery was erased or something. If anyone face the same problem you must:
1. flash some older official MIUI build with MiFlash
2. flash some older TWRP via Fastboot
3. format Data (not wipe only)
4. flash MIUI EU zip or other custom ROM
I think I am going to stick to MIUI EU Stable until someone finds a good solution for Bluetooth issue.

Do you think you could make a TWRP backup and upload it somewhere, so I could test "your files" on mine hardware? I believe the backup should include the following partitions:
System Image (not System)
Vendor Image (not Vendor)
Boot
Firmware
... that's for sure. But maybe also the other little partitions as well (excluding Data, System, Vendor, EFS).
You could use WeTransfer for example. PM with the link if you have a time. Appreciate.

I'm sorry but I can't do that. The backup would be about 8gb and my Internet connection sucks (about 50kb/s upload). It'd take me ages to upload the backup.
That's a shame, but I understand of course
Hello,
This has been driving me nuts. I can't be heard in normal calls, the mic picks up nothing.
I am using global 9t pro.
I have tested the hardware and the mic is working. Speakerphone works also. All roms tried present the same problem (stock, lineage, Xiaomi.eu). I have now clean flashed stock MIUI 10 and updated to 11 and problem remains.
I've read there can be sim reader problems, but speakerphone seems to work. I've read there can be audio routing problems relating to headset with mic being detected, but I can't find evidence the phone thinks there is a headset connected. I've disabled Google Assistant and the problem remains.
What puzzles me is that even after a complete clean flash of stock rom there is no improvement.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello I had a similar problem, my autorotation and mic started to fail and I got confused, after some research it turns out if I flash MIUI 11 and go back to MIUI 10 a partition called persist gets deleted and it completely messes up your sensors and it won't get fixed regardless you flash another rom, what I did was download fastboot rom and flash it. If that doesn't fix it extract the persist.img from the rom files and flash it through TWRP and it should go back to working. Wait now that I think about it you try flash persist.img from the files and if it doesn't work then you flash the fastboot rom. Good luck
First of all, I'm running MSM Xtended v9 dirty flashed from v5 which was clean flashed after Havoc OS Pie rom some time ago.
Okay so here is the problem as specific as possible.
At first, after doing an online call using headphones (Either via Whatsapp, Messanger, Discord) the mic would suddenly stop working, no voice input would be detected whether its Voice Notes, regular calls, google assistant or any other app that detects voice input. This was back on MSM Xtended v5, which was Clean flashed. The problem then persisted and turned into the mic doing the same thing even without the headphones, then onto doing it again for regular calls too, not just the online ones (so that means I have to reboot after every call). I thought it was a problem with my android version so I upgraded to v9, dirty flashed. I wanted to opt for a clean flash but I had some data on apps that couldn't be backed up at the time. Problem still remained and now the mic suddenly stops working after reboot for no reason without making any calls.
Obviously, as every developer recommends I thought to clean flash the rom again, and prepared myself to backup everything and lose that which I can't back up. Then while looking for a different rom, I noticed multiple people having the same problem for different ROMs, though all were Android 10 ROMs.
So I wanted to ask, is there any solution to this problem? It makes the device basically unusable without any mic, and I do understand that not everyone has the same problem but when I saw others having it I realized it might not be specific to my unit.
Anyone trying other Android 10 ROMs without this problem? Should I downgrade to Pie? Any help would be appreciated, please.
If you recommend downgrading please tell me how, as I seem to have forgotten and can't find the method online (it may be there but I haven't seen, I apologize if that's the case).
Thank you in advance.
Known issue on Android 10, most probably it is Gapps issue, so try Weeb Gapps if you don't need 'Hey Google' thing. Downgrading is not that hard on OnePlus 3T, just download OOS 9.0.6, backup your data to PC or OTG, wipe all and format data and flash OOS, that's it.
