When you swipe up (like to switch apps) instead of clicking the app screen click the logo on top. You'll have option to split screen

Adding widgets to the lock screen

I have enabled widgets on the lock screen (Settings > Security...). From time to time I can see a big + (plus) sign on the lock screen, and by tapping it I am able to pick up a widget. After unlocking and locking again, the widget is gone and there is no plus sign anymore.
Does someone know what causes the plus sign to show up or how to revoke it?

The + sign is showed when you swipe left or right starting from the upper right or left corner of the screen.
I don't know for the rest of your problem, sorry ^^
Widgets don't disappear, they're just on another screen of your lockscreen. Swipe left or right around your clock and widgets you added will show. It's stupid, and it takes more than one try at first, but it is what it is.
You are both right. Now it works, but it is kind of useless.
Thanks anyway.

Well, I decided not to use lock screen. Now, with press of the power button I have everything needed at my disposal with no limits.

I have another question regarding lock screen. How do you change pop up menu on p7 lock screen. In the bottom row are calendar, calculator, torch and mirror and above used to be weather icons. After reseting my phone for other reasons weather icons are gone and something alse now appears. Does anyone know how to change it to weather again?

Isn't that related to the theme? I don't have them either so I can't be sure.

Getting rid of "Swipe up to unlock" - Lollipop

The stock 5.0 notification screen in nice, but kind of pointless on the Moto X since the Touchless controls do a much better job.
The problem is that it now takes two touches to get to the home screen where once used to suffice. Anyone figure out a way to bypass this yet?
On Verizon, so no root unfortunately
If you swipe up on the lock screen it will go to the homescreen with one swipe.

In Lollipop, you can set your security level to "none" instead of "swipe" as long as your guest account is disabled. If guest account is enabled, the "none" option isn't available.
You still have to swipe past the notification screen every time you hit the power button....

Huh? I'm talking about how to remove the swipe requirement. Just click on the aqua colored avatar in the upper right corner in quick settings. A dialog box appears and in the lower left is the option to "remove guest" account. Once you do that, "none" appears as option, in addition to the others (swipe, PIN, pattern) as a means of unlocking the device.
But I want to have PIN lock The Smart Lock setting will turn the pin off at home, but doesn't remove the need to swipe the Notifications screen away.

Annoyance
I agree with the original poster. This is unnecessary and annoying added step (swipe) to access the homescreen from a pattern, pin, password locks.

No fingerprint authentication after double tap screen off/lock

Hey guys
Why fingerprint unlock doesnt work after double tap to screen lock/off? Is there any way to achieve that. Everytime u double tap to make screen off , the next time u wake ur phone using fingerprint, it just ask for password. So u r stuck with only one option to press power button then apply fingerprint.
I hate pressing buttons:crying:

Nova-launcher explains this. Get the Nova settings page up, scroll to the bottom, unfold the advanced options, click on "screen lock method".

Finally, i found widget in the widget section " Screen lock" . One tap and boom.
I mean.... Really:silly:

Extra lock screen?

I have an always on lock screen that showing time on a black/turned off screen. However, from time to time when I pick up the phone from my packet there is this lock screen that showing my lock screen background and a clock. Only on that screen I cannot unlock the phone, face recognition, pattern and finger print is not available on that screen. I have to press power button to lock the phone and only afterwards I can use my finger print to unlock it.
It is very annoying because as I said I have to re-lock the phone to unlock it again.
I looked in the settings under lock screen, biometrics and could not find how to Iget rid of that ghostly lock screen?
If you dont use always on edge (aoe) then I think you mean the always on screen, but you actually can unlock from it, it should Show you the Fingerprint area.
It appears when you tap the screen when it's turned of, tapping this screen twice gets you to the normal lockscreen.
I've seen that recently... It's like a screen saver except I didn't enable one.. Lol

Ah i think i know what you mean now. It happens when you press the clock on the lock on the lockscreen, it should also display a small back Symbol on the lower left area

Bingo..it must trigger in my pocket bc that’s when I’ve seen it ..gesture back got it for me
iPhone X
That happens if you double tap the clock from the lock screen
Yep exactly that's it. But what is it for? Back gesture brings you back to lockscreen. Fp does not work. Power button lock the screen again.
Seems like some kind of Screensaver accessed through lockscreen.

That is exactly the screen I am talking about. There is no unlock input available on that "screen saver".
How does one get rid of this "screen saver" extra screen?

You can use pixel launcher mod from xda but you need to be rooted to double tap to sleep
If you have the Always On Screen option turned on, you can double tap the screen at any time to wake it up. No app needed.
