Since the nov security update my navbar became white, I previously had it black and i'm not sure how (I'm guessing either substratum, themegalaxy, ADB, or S8NavBarCC) eitherway no method currently works that sticks.
Any idea how to fix this?
Edit: i hate my life the reason isn't the security update but rather navstar which i happened to install while downloading the security update.
Cant you choose theme based on settings, display, navigation bar?

Or black there's options there...
It is to stop screen burn or lack thereof. If you keep a black nar bar it will after a few months show uneven colour due to less burn in on the nav bar.

Yes the option is there for several colors but the don't seem to set. Maybe I'm missing something?
Well just see if it depends on theme that you have.

Good thinking.
The issue is with Good Lock 2018 and NavStar. ADB and I'm assuming other methods won't survive reboot because NavStar conflicts with and overrides the default color selection. My solution was to uninstall NavStar for now but it'd be great to get it working properly.

Just for clarity Navistar mods will function concurrently with navbar animations app, and both survive reboot. Just fyi if anyone is troubleshooting.
To clarify, if you change icons in NavStar and then use ADB commands to change the nav bar color, it will change temporarily, then revert to whatever shade of white was originally selected, after a reboot. If you use one of the stock colors, there is no issue.
I noticed this only for one app so far, MX Player Pro. Only engine I'm using is Swift and that's only for a handful of apps.
I found the instructions in this thread worked for me, I just omitted the last command to stop my theme'd nav bar icons back to stock.
The Nav bar isn't black in all apps but most.
Open an ADB shell and paste:
settings put global navigationbar_color -16777216
settings put global navigationbar_current_color -16777216

What xposed module is currently working and good for the note 4?
Wanam, Greenify ?
Sent using my T-Mobile Note 4
Same as post #2 with "Disable Clear Defaults Dialog" and "NoSafeVolumeWarning".
gravitybox is by far my favorite. From changing the battery icon to hiding the bluetooth icon and much more
Wanam, net speed indicator, screen off animation, blursystemui, and xui
Net speed to show the data transfer speed in the status like an aosp type rom, blurred systemui to blur the background in systemui, screen off animation you can choose several screen off animations, and control the speed of the animation, xui, for misc animations, and center mirrored battery bar, wanam to color misc items and other misc.

network monitor mini in the play store will give it to you, if you dont want to go the Xposed /Wanam route..
and, your question about whether Xposed and all those modules cause "too many cooks in the kitchen" to happen, with a phone this powerful, if you install them properly and cleanly, there are no issues with Xposed and most of the modules that work with it.

Uninstall Wanam and gravitybox and reboot. Then download gb by itself and change settings to your liking and reboot. Then install Wanam and change settings to your liking but make sure you don't change what you already changed on gb. Reboot and you should be good to go. It's awesome cause now I have the battery icon I like, no Bluetooth symbol in the notification bar and many more
I am looking for a xposed that can do this:
You swipe down and there is something where you can see when is your next alarm.
Is there such a thing?
Is there a mod to make the navigation bar transparent or translucent and not black throughout the system or within apps?
Or invert the color of the bar like the LG G3?

Oh yeah, Just like mine now. Take a look baby

But.. Does it also work when you're in for instance whatsapp? Could you post some screenshots in some apps? Because it's only transparent on the home screen on my Nexus 6
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Unfortunately if the app doesn't allow it, I don't think it's possible
Here is the deal. When you use a launcher that allows transparency, it is only on the home screen. That is because the homescreen is designed to allow the window (of the application) to sit behind the status bar and navigation bar. Windows for other applications do not sit behind these bars. They stop when they meet them. If you actually had a transparent navigation bar and you were in facebook, you would not see the background of the app behind it. You would see dead space, which may be white, grey or black. Not the effect you're looking for.
Conversely, if the app windows DID sit behind these bars, some functionality would be lost. eg. buttons at the bottom of the app would sit behind the navbar. There are apps and mods that can achieve this, such as expanded desktop, but is it really worth losing functionality for this?

To expand on that a little bit, the notion of having something transparent depends on there actually being something behind it to show through, which really doesn't make much sense.
In fact, the transparent "effect" (at least, on the notification bar at the top) is something done by the application itself, by defining the boundaries of the application to extend above the border of the application window, hence drawing something up outside of the application's area.
The nav bar can't be made transparent in the same manner, but the application developer has the option to set the color.

I was wondering the same
Anyway someone can post a pick of the three different ones? I would prefer to see if I’m interested before I change everything because I’m only doing this to get the black notifications. I already use Nova and a specific icon pack. So I’m a fan of a dark theme, but with my stuff over it and I don’t want to redo everything unless I know I’m on the right path. It looks like there is no way to change third party apps. Since I use Google calendar and Chrome, I don’t believe there is a way to make those black/dark, unless someone is aware of one. I also got very tired on how slow Samsung’s email app is so I switched to another that I think is fantastic, but again can’t change it’s background. I have a lot of emails and there all on my phone and when I get a new one it’s not just the subject and who it’s from, it’s the actual email immediately. Samsung’s email app takes so long to go. If I change the longevity on how many emails I want on my phone it can make the new emails show up somewhat quicker, but my new app is in a blink of an eye. Hope for some guidance. Also any Nova users have any issue with swipe action to add a contact and getting “Permission Denied”? It worked fine on the LG V20 as well as other Samsung phones in the past, but not this. I think it’s because Nova won’t allow me to enable permissions for Contacts. I know this is in wrong area, but I figured someone still might know tha answer and might have advice that would be very much appreciated? It’s easier for me to put this in 1 place because of some health issues.
Here's the red one. Does anyone know a way of Turning Bixby home black?
I think the root version if one exists allows the writing to be white , whereas the ones Grant was kind enough to post shows the fonts as grey and some find it difficult to read /view.

Yeppers, for layers and substratum you need to reboot. If you decide you don't want it menu>settings>apps>uninstall and reboot.
Does anyone know if there's an overlay that keeps the System UI Blue or Red but keeps the notifications white? I'm currently using the Red system UI overlay which I love but the notifications are just too dark and don't want to up my brightness to see them.
I saw someone who had dark notifications with white writing. He can't figure out how he did it. He is not rooted he is on SD version.

There should be a flashable zip for the black notifications with white icons

I actually don't know. I'm on rooted xiaomi eu weekly, so china dev. But the requirements state that both stable and dev are supported and no root is required. You need a twrp, obviously. Here: mi(-)globe(.)com(/)miui-notification-icons-for-notch-phones/ without ()
Note that usually it takes 1/2 for them to update the mod but I always flashed the older version and it worked anyway

work on xiaomi.eu 8.12.20
This is a simple, but effective, Magisk Module that:
Fixes the bottom round corners (makes them fully rounded with no more pixelized stuff down there...check how they are now before applying this mod...you'll see that ugliness)
Disabled rounded corners on floating windows (which makes all windows transitions 100x times faster and also avoids the ugly bug that appeared when the rounded corners were fixed)
Removes WiFi with numbers icons
Changes default accent color to Pixel blue
Makes the dark theme black on Settings
This is just like a Pixel Theme but without all Pixel features present on the Pixel Theme.
The module is on the attachments.
Hope you enjoy it.

Well, those features are on the Pixel Theme for Android 10. Not only that but also other cool features. If you want, instead of using this "mini" module you could opt for using the Pixel Theme.
On the other hand, stock ROM has other colors included. You can change them on Developer settings, if you want.

The latest 2 versions of Pixel Theme already had these features. I've decided to share this "mini" module version for those who don't want all Pixel stuff included on the theme. So, if you're using the latest version of Pixel Theme, you don't need this.
