Hi, I just bought the Mediacom SmartPad M-SP7HXAH Tablet with the programmable power on / off function.
I'd like to use this tablet in my car and
control the power on and off based on power connection (AC or usb).
Can Tasker interact with the On / Off timer function in the settings menu?
(Example:
if power AC connect - "timer on" = now!!!
If power Ac disconnect - "timer off"= now + 30 seconds).
thank you for your availability

Under the power options, I have the 'turn off device if not used for' options selected for both 'on battery power' and 'on external power'. I also have the backlight options to turn off the backlight if not used.
My question is: when connected via Activesync, should the device turn off (as per the settings above). It seems to activate the backlight feature, but not turn off (as per the setting).
Am I understanding this functionality wrongly? thanks.
Hi
My understanding is that when you connect to activesync then that is the same as external power. So, the external power settings apply to activesync (via USB).

Thanks Dave - in that case my power settings do not seem to be working correctly - ie: it does not turn off after 1 minute when connected via USB, however does operate correctly when not connected.
any ideas? thanks.
This morning. My phone was still fine, but it was acting a little strange. So i did a three button reset, power and volyme up and down keys. Vibrate once, then 3 vibrations. I left it alone for 10 minutes. Now i cannot even turn it on. Nothing happens.
connect your phone to the wall charger, not the dock > press and hold power & volume down for 8 seconds > let it charge for 1hour > try to turn it on

hi everyone
I bought a Z3c but won't turn on, but when charge it is on!! displays sony logo, and battery level and then turn off D=
I have pressed the power botton many times, but it was not power on
The battery was 100%, still I put it on charging, but it is showing charge light.
charging it and power on (on sony logo or battery icon(?)) then vibrates 3 times and power off, no responses I have disconnect and connect one more time and every time is the same; also I tried at the same time press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds. and press and hold power & volume down for 10 seconds, in both cases the phone turn off, and i can't power on
I connected on PC, and then led is on red-green, immediately the led turn off but the pc PC recognize like SOMC DEVICE, and flashtool says "Device connected in flash mode", and no hold volume down, automatic is in flash mode.
I tried connect to pc holding volume up, but nothing happens

I tried this but the same result
A panacea for your device.
For those coming to this post in search of an answer to their seemingly dead device.
After looking at Sony's support website, the answer I found was to hold the OFF button inside of the Micro-SD/SIM cover for a total of 2 minutes (120 seconds).
This is tricky for some users, due to the length of time involved.
It is important that the OFF button remain held for the full duration of time.
After this, your device 'should' power on normally by holding the power button.
This worked for me, and I hope it will work for you!
Thumbs up and stuff if this helps~!
Pretty new to tasker and struggling to create the above
going to fix an old phone into car dash to use as infotainment.
Wanting to save as much battery when car ignition/usb power is off so though airplane more and enabling a battery saver might be the way to go
any thoughts?
To trigger a task when there is no power applied, just create a profile state -> power -> power then select "any" and check the "invert" box. Then add your actions to turn on airplane mode or whatever.
That context will be active when the power to the device is removed. The invert tells it to recognize the opposite condition. So instead of triggering when power is connected, it triggers on disconnect.

I use the Huawei power saving mode on my phone all the time, but I have to remember to disable it every now and again to allow account sync or remember to manually sync my accounts as power saver doesn't turn off when a charger is plugged in.
Is there any way to automate it so that when unplugged power saver is active but when charging it is disabled?
I'm thinking Tasker or something similar. Does anyone have any ideas on how to set this up?

Anyone?
I've managed to set up Tasker so it will enable/disable the native Android Oreo power saver mode on plug/unplug but this doesn't change the Huawei power saver that runs via phone manager (I think)
Also, enabling the native Android power saver turns the statusbar that ugly orange colour, so that was turned off immediately haha
