Firstly,
it depends what "Samsung phone" you got.. a Note 9 or what?
Secondly,
as far as i know ? ,
if you use a 3rd party lockscreen app, you canot use Fingerprint etc to lock/ unlock and certain other apps eg like some banking apps.
You have to use a stock (Samsung) method.
Good lock 2018, is only available to certain markets,
worldwide.
I do not have option to install Good lock 2018.
I have installed standalone, NavStar app (Samsung)
(ApkMirror website)
which i believe is part of Good lock 2018.
It has navbar lockscreen option.
Works fine, no issues.
I'm sure there is other Samsung options also. eg Edge panels etc.
See screenshot
If you don't mine an onscreen floating button, you could use the Assistant menu found under Accessibility, Dexterity and interaction to get a floating always on button. You select the features that you want or turn off all the features except the lock one.
you can just set it to lock after 5 seconds when the screen goes off.
Nova Launcher Prime is another option - You can use gestures to screen lock by double-tapping screen or double-tapping the status bar.
Sorry not mentioned , it's Samsung Note 9. I tried install Good lock 2018, but can't use.

Then you are in same boat as me.
I couldn't install Good lock 2018 directly, due to market restrains, etc.
I had to separately in install each standalone app
that's included in Good Lock 2018.
I downloaded these standalone apks.
from ApkMirror website, also i had to download
Activity Manager (free) from Google Play .
It's an app to create shortcuts, to enable you to access each standalone app settings, as it the apps
won't appear in app drawer.
See screenshot, for
some of standalone apps (Good lock 2018) and Activity Manager app.
I have a Note 9 and use a screen lock app from the store. It lives in the notification area and you just tap to turn screen off.
I use Nova Launcher Prime gestures to lock screen by double tapping screen...

Use the Navistar "add a button".
Just on screen lock put the nav bar with the off button.

I'm a fan of not having to use any of the physical buttons, this is why i liked using custom roms, on my other devices, that allowed this and also taking advantage of the gesture features with the launcher i use, Nova Launcher.
So for rom version 5.1.1 i like it the way it is, but it's just lacking the option to lock the screen without having to use the physical button. i've installed the app "Reboot Menu" and it has all the features i need but the Lock Screen option lacks for me, because when you use the feature, and wake the phone up again, the Reboot menu is still open. If it closed after the selection that would be great. If Nova Launcher had this feature within the gesture options..that would be even better! anyways, anyone with me on this? is there another app better than the Reboot Menu app?
there is an app called screen off in play store once u use it, it put the screen off
what i do is im using nova too and in setting the gestures i designated the double tab gesture to use this app
result ... double tapping the screen puts it off

this is the app

thanks, yes i found something similar..i went with a very basic app called Lock Screen and, i too am using Nova Launcher. The experience just keeps getting better!
Coming from a few gens of LGs and Nexus devices (with this feature hacked in) I am kinda missing it on my new Note 5. I am almost there.
Knock On is easily replaced by Home button tap. I'm cool with this.
Once Unlocked, I use Action Launcher with Double tap to sleep. That works great. Nova also works with a 3rd party app.
But the Lockscreen is another animal. I can wake the device by the home button, but no way to turn of screen off without gripping it and pressing the power button. I am thinking maybe an alternative lockscreen might have the features I need but any suggestions for a Lockscreen knock OFF?

hi ,
yes , i seen and used/tested a few Lockscreen apps ,
some has a feature ,like this (you mentioned /looking for in you above post .)
Currently ,i have C Locker .... sorry, ( paid ) version .
But there is a free "trail/limited version ? , for you test ( Play Store )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ccs.lockscreen
I really ,like its"wide/many " features.
Well ,it has gestures function you can set .
I first set it to double knock off on lockscreen, but changed it to two fingers swipe down .
My setup is like this ...
To wake ..to only see ..lockscreen notices , time at night , etc
I wave my hand over proximity sensor once (Samsung stock function, enable in Settings /Dexterity and interaction /Easy turn on (screen )
Other method ,i used sometimes ,
I say Hi Galaxy ,( S voice is disable, so S voice does not activate,
only the Samsung process Voice wake up .I enabled S voice ,then enabled service Wake up .Then disabled S voice )
After checking my lock screen for messages, battery ,time .. etc ... etc,
/ or it can be set to a shortcut app, to check app , directly from lock screen .
It will return back to lock screen ( a C locker setting )
I double tap lock screen /swipe to sleep.!!
According to me C locker app on play store is one of the best lock screens out there
( i have about 3 other paid version ..eg Hi locker etc ,
but for me its the best functionable one !!. )
i also have Nova Prime launcher so i also use gestures to put device to sleep .
Good luck
Hello!
I had an update (April security update for Pie) and now multiwindow has stopped working. Holding down the recents does nothing, I can't even find a mention of multiwindow in settings. WTH? Anyone else have this?
To clarify, I'm talking about split screen. Windowing still seems to work OK...

In the recents screen, press and hold the app icon and a menu with options will Pop up including split screen.
Install Good lock and MultiStar module to get the full multi window features back. The only thing is gone is the holding down the recent key to multi window. Now it is all in the recent screen by taping the app icon or dragging the app down or up on top of an active app. (Have an active app running, tap on recent button and sliding the desired app up or down to activate multi window. )

Thanks, all. These options work. Weird how they removed the long-press on recents....

Correct, it was a leftover from betas/android oreo - they never intended to have it there (iirc), thus they removed it as a "bug fix"... I also don't agree with their decision + they are big customer for google, I also refuse to accept the reasoning how google policy forced them to gutter the great multitasking they had on oreo, nougat and even MM. As said, multistar/goodlock returns 90% of the functionality + you can even turn on two activities same time, that way while you game you can open another app in pop-out without game freezing on the background, etc.
So I shifted from my s9 to the rm3 few days ago... So far I had some issues but I adjusted to live with them... But I need a In-built app lock like Samsung have... Any ideas?
Please describe the "in-built app lock" Is that a Google or Samsung thing?

Hi,
I assume he is talking about the ability to "lock" an app in recents.
So that, when you wipe the "Recent apps"é the app that is locked remains there.
That is really handy when you're using an app that has to get access ao "Accessibility" features.
Killing it from the Recents will disallow the Accessibility service.
Here's an example.
You want to have Gestures navigation. The Red Magic 3 does not have that (yes, I know, I think it's the only device that doesn't have it released in the past 2 years).
So you install an app like Vivid or Fluid. Both require Accessibility service.
Once you run them, you won't have Navigation bar anymore... but if you kill then in Recent apps you're screwed : np navigation and no gestures so you're stuck (OK, there's a workaround, but still a disaster).
Huawei, Google, Xiaomi, Samsung... They all allow to lock an app in Recents. The Chinese ROM allows that also. The Global ROM does not.
Another stupid decision by ZTE/Nubia... after the decision to release this crippled device.
I think AOD (Always On Display) has something to do with it but it seems that the option to change the custom text on Lock Screen is removed from OP10 Pro. If true, it is pretty stupid. I mean remove the text set during earlier OS versions and remove the option.
Now I have a text there which could be a wrong info (ex-wife and such) but no option to edit/remove it!
Any help please.
I think you are looking for this...
Settings; personalizations; always on display; display settings; display message.
Is that it?
First of all, thanks for replying.
I do not have Personalizations at all, under Settings. "Always-On Display" is found under Settings > Wallpapers and style > AOD. Under this > More Display Settings > Info does show some info that I can add/remove, but can't edit the message that was already set before OOS13
BTW I am on OOS13.0 (Android 13), v NE2211_11_C.20. No root, no magisk, no customization of any type!
Same problem

Made an account just to post this and come out of my lurker hole.
To get Google pay option in the lock screen shortcut section available, I have to open "wallet" from the status bar drop down menu. If you open the wallet app this will not work.
Once wallet is opened from the drop down menu's icon, three dots on top right will have 1 option for lock screen settings. Click that and the first option is to change lock screen message text and the first toggle option is to allow wallet access from lock screen shortcut.
Here you can fix your text and or make that other setting available for use.
These lock screen settings are only accessible through this drop down quick menu that I have found and not the wallet app for some odd reason.
I accidentally set a "test" text to see where it would be placed and then couldn't get back to the setting and spent the next 8 hours trying to find it.
Hope this helps all who are as confused as I was.
Probably try Google Assistant application, by voice searching through it for "lock screen text" . It worked for me on Android 13 (OnePlus phone)

The issue is with the AOD custom text message, not the locksreen one.
