I can't get the toolkit from the other thread to recognize my device worth crap. Rooted/TWRP'd, Xposed all working fine going the manual way. I would really like to scale things down on this large beautiful screen to gain more content space though. Anyone have any ideas?

You can always edit the DPI in build.prop but that will likely cause scaling issues. It does with the OnePlus 3. I imagine it would be the same with the 3T. If you want to just look for ro.sf.lcd_density. I'm pretty sure stock is set to 480, just set it to something lower like 400. There is also the per app DPI changer for xposed. You would have to set each app manually but you could set the ones that didn't work properly back to the stock setting.

Build.prop is the best method. Make sure to create a backup before editing though.
If you're rooted I recommend Le DPI Changer from the Play Store. Make sure you tick the "Use Shell WM for setting DPI". I have mine set to 400 and love it. There are also adb commands to achieve this without root but not sure if they'll work on the 1+3t
I use Easy DPI Changer from playstore and it works perfect...

Le DPI Changer failed on all normal settings minus the Build.Prop edit option. Confirmed that build.prop does work though!!! But same issue for me with the quick settings on OOS being misaligned, a bit shifted left. It's actually quite a bit left at 400DPI.
Any fix to this?
yep also getting the left shift. long press power you'll see the power off and reboot icons are messed up too. but that's about all I see. small price to pay. i don't mind it

Worked for me with "Use Shell WM for setting DPI" toggled but yes, shifts the quicksettings to the left here as well. Android N-ify Xposed module doesn't change the quicksettings either so I assume they've done something to add the quick toggles..

Power and reboot look fine for me at 400 DPI. Quick settings still on the left. Any fix?

You would have to deodex the OPSystemUI.apk. Decompile it and modify it. Someone did it for the OP3. I can't remember if it was on XDA or the OnePlus community though.
Edit: That's what I meant when I mentioned scaling issues.

Hello, i've ordered a Xiaomi Mi 8 and i'm waiting for it.
I watched many reviews and i found out that there's an useless space under the notch area, used for the notification bar, that's pretty annoying to be seen. Has it maybe disappeared with further MIUI updates? Or maybe MIUI10? Or maybe xiaomi.eu rom?
Thanks

Ok, yeah, there are a few pixels not being used by MIUIs design in the status bar.
Reducing DPI from 440 to 360 adjusts UI (a little bit more tiny, personally I found this size perfect for this screen size) and adjusts notification bar to the notch perfectly

Just to be sure, how to change DPI in MIUI?
will the notifications appear if i change the dpi ?
change dpi under accessibility settings
I saw from some users that used this method, the notification bar still isn't aligned with the notch, as on the Poco F1. Other methods?
Probably solved...
Xiaomi.eu staff member told me that this problem has been solved in the latest update. Personally I'm not able to check it now. Can someone prove it?

There are some apps on play store like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chornerman.easydpichanger
Or with an adb terminal and "adb shell wm density [number]"
On the latest xiaomi.eu version this space is automatically adjusted without those tweaks
For oreo

That's an update to Android Pie screenshot.
I think he mistyped the title. Either that or he posted the wrong screenshot.
The screenshot also says N960, which I believe is the Note9? So, he's in the wrong forum also.
I guess note 8 didn't get any update for pie. this screenshot belong n960F

No, it's a GoodLock module that allows you to do that, but the module is only compatible with Android 8.1 and up. Since we're not getting Android 8.1 and the Note9 was launched with Android 8.1, we have to wait for the Android 9 update before we can use that module.

Why you're in such a hurry to install pie? Do you know what restrictions brings us pie? e.g. call recording doesn't work anymore on stock rom... With every new edition, Android is more and more like iOS - user can't do this anymore, user can't do that anymore... And everything covered with "concern for user's privacy and security"
Ask yourself agan before install pie - do you really need this shiny sh*t instead of your free will to use OS accordind to your needs? At least you are a hacker

You install GoodLock and the Navstar module. GoodLock was only released for certain regions and might not be available for you, in which case you can just install the module. GoodLock is basically just a launcher for the modules, but there is a way around it, if GoodLock doesn't work for you and the module doesn't show up in the app drawer (GoodLock isn't strictly needed to make the modules work). You can get the NavStar module from here. Then, like I said, if the module doesn't show in the app drawer, just have a look on the market for an activity launcher app.

I have Pie Beta on my device now as well, and none of the GoodLock modules works for me, including NavStar. I think it's because the modules aren't compatible with Pie, at the moment. We have to wait and see if Samsung updates the modules to work with Pie.

This is very, very interesting. One Handed Operation+ works perfectly fine for me. My OS just simply disables the Routines app. When I "unfreeze" it using Titanium backup, it just gets disabled immediately again. It doesn't even show up in my app manager. All other modules install fine, but some doesn't open at all and others when I change settings, it just doesn't actually change anything. I'm wondering now if it might not be something related to the custom ROM I'm running, that's based on the beta. Maybe something was changed that somehow affects the functionality of the GoodLock modules.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.refy.android.g8x.widemode
This is seriously very impressive. Nice work, only issue is it breaks the navigation bar and won't come back regardless if changing between gestures or normal navbar. Only fix is a reboot.
It does crash frequently inside an app.

hi, are you the developer of this awesome wide mode enabler?
If so, is it possible to enable dual screen working when folded completely (360 deg) same as lg g8X. i guess screen turns off when the magnetic latch (hall sensor) detected.
Also, possible to turn on dualscreen, switch/swap between screens, through tasker integration? disabling on-screen buttons

Yes, thank you using!
- May not possibe to enable dual screen while 360 deg. Framework checks cover state internally, ignore power on message when cover fully opened.
- Turn On or Off dualscreen through tasker integration is possible.
- Switch or Swap screen can use only activities from same package if non privileged apps. Could not possible Switch/Swap from Tasker integration.

Is it optimized for dual notch in wideview?
This app is wonderful! It works for my LG v50, but I have one problem, the wide mode screen is smaller than my phone's screen, leaving black borders. Is there any way to fix this?
Sorry I mean when it crashes in app its due to say keyboard opening, or clicking on a link. I don't think it's to do with the app, just which LG allows you to modify. Like, without root do you think its possible to have widemode on all time even when switching between apps or will we have to always open a widemode using the toggle. It be awesome if you could remap the activity to a button such as Google assistant button or include in floating menu LG has. Or swipes up from navigation bar.

That's not what I meant. The app itself doesn't fully fit either the dual screen or the main screen, it's smaller than both. It leaves borders around the bottom of the dual screen and the right of the main screen, as if the app is too small to fit the display. Perhaps Android 10 will fix some of these issues.
Does anyone have the APK for this? I'm wanting to try it on the Asus ROG Phone II second screen attachment just to see if it might work, and can't find the apk anywhere, or get it to download.

No you cannot. Asus uses different developer kit for twindock. LG & Asus apps aren't cross compatible to each other. Asus dual screen games also didn't work the same on LG
And this app uses LG's own implementation (which is very new, not yet published in public for developers)

Even newer updated v50 with wideview mode?
I love my Pixel 5, but what I hate is the navigation line and black space at the bottom when I am in most apps. It is a waste of space and is unsightly (it's ugly and ruins an otherwise great screen experience). Are there any solutions to remove it (for example, immersive mode or expanded desktop apps or even xposed or gravitybox something like that), that still let me use gestures?
I heard the immersive mode apps that have been around for years no longer work in Android 11.
Thanks!
On Android 10 on my Mi A2 I was using a Magisk module which did exactly that.
It's called Fullscreen/Immersive Gestures (Q-R) by DanGLES3 (v8.1), last updated on Dec 13. You can find it here or in Magisk search.
I have no idea if this module will work on the Pixel 5 because I'm not rooted and can't test it, sorry about that, but it's a start. Just wait until someone can confirm it works before you unlock and root (unless of course you plan to unlock and root anyway).
It works!!! Thank you!!!
