Mi Mix with the MIUI 10 Global Stable Rom TWRP & Root - Xiaomi Mi MIX Questions & Answers

Hi Guys !
Since today I have a Mi Mix with the MIUI 10 Global Stable Rom.
MIUI Version 10.0.1.0 (OAHMIFH)
Now my question: Which is the right TWRP version and which Magisk version to use.
2. It suffices, if you only want to boot boats TWRP only via fastboot and to flash Magisk
3. no-verity-opt-encrypt not necessary?
4. Last but not the least Which encryption password must be entered in TWRP.
Exact step by step instructions would not be wrong, because I'm not quite sure from the read here
Thank you in advance for your help

this : www.mediafire.com/file/lv7sncx1np9d41u
and this : https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v17.3/Magisk-v17.3.zip

Thanks first of all,
Flashing over Fastboot and if so direct flashing with "Flash twrp" or first twrp boot and then TWRP.img flashing
or something else to consider?
no-verity-opt-encrypt not necessary?
Need password after boot in TWRP or not?

Solved

Self solved !!!
Flash TWRP via Fastboot
fastboot flash recovery C: \ adb \ twrp.img (adapt path to your path on the computer))
fastboot format userdata (because this way is not asked for PW or pin)
If you just want to start #TWRP, you enter the following.
fastboot boot C: \ adb \ twrp.img
To start TWRP, hold the following keys for a few seconds: VOL + & Power
Then copy your Roms and or Magisk from the PC to the phone and flash, alternatively flashing with OTG
Sorry for my bad English

Hi,
I'm on chinese MIUI 10 10.0.1.0 (OAHCNFH). Unlocked bootloader and fastboot flashed TWRP (lithium) 3.2.1.0. Also rooted with Magisk Manager v17. Had to also flash from twrp the no-verity-opt-encrypt to avoid twrp being replaced by the stock miui flash tool. All running smoothly. For now just used root access to install Goolge camera (editing camera2prop); also installed Kernel auditor but did not play with the settings yet.

if you can't even boot miui10 that you got from official site, then maybe you shouldn't modify anything in your phone, stop it and using it like normal user. good day.

If flashing an official recovery ROM doesn't work, usually you must flash a official fastboot ROM to restore everything, i.e. via USB from a Windows computer.

Sorry, I received my MIUI 10 via OTA before unlocking mi device. But I know the official MIUI 10 can be downloaded from the MIUI forum (check here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html), there is a fastboot method to flash it but you will probably lose al data and applications (is not like an OTA)

Thanks for the info. Just tried to flash with fastboot. I got "Mismatched image error". After did some reading deleted these lines,
"fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *MSM8996_A8" || echo Missmatching image and device
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *MSM8996_A8" || exit /B 1"
Then got a "command write failed" error. Why Xiaomi has to make it so complicated? Any other suggestion?

Did you check this https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/devices-xiaomi-firmware-updater-t3741446 ? I think these can be flashed using twrp. There is also a discusion here about the correct twrp version to be used.

[SOLVED] Mi 9 stuck on Bootloop, no recovery

So I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to flashing custom ROM's and such stuff, and always follow written tutorials where available.
Yesterday I managed to flash Revolution OS to my Mi 9 (with unlocked Bootloader) and using Twrp it worked perfectly.
Now today I tried to reset the device due to some Issues, and I must've accidentally deleted the ROM itself somehow, because now the phone just Bootloops all the time.
Recovery is not accessible, or I'm unsure if there is even a recovery still on it, but I can access fastboot.
I tried different commands like flashing ROM to the device via Fastboot or Mi Flash tool, but it either fails with unknown error or it doesn't progress the command.
So I wanted to ask, if there is any hope for my Mi 9 or if I just made a expensive mistake.
Any answers, tips and possible solutions are appreciated, thank you!

Did you've tried to flash system (download an unzip your first miui rom e.g. Global, eu...) and twrp via adb?
For me it was fine in a same situation.
You can download the fastboot ROM from xiaomi side, extract following from tgz file
-boot
-recovery
-vendor
-system
And flash it manually via fastboot. Welcome back to Miui world....

Hey thank you very much for your reply.
I was able to flash TWRP via Fastboot but when entering the command fastboot boot recovery.img it still bootlooped again and I still couldn't acess Recovery through button combination.
Is there anything I might be doing wrong or so?
The only option you have now is to flash the full rom via fastboot

Just spend the last couple hours following your advice, but I still get abootloop and no recovery option on the phone itself.
Flashing all the parts worked but it seems like it's not really applying them?
I used the stock cepherus ROM

And which twrp?
- Download XiaomiADBFastbootTools.
- Connect through Fastboot
- Download a stable official rom via the program
- Flash the Rom via the program

Try using MiFlashPro tool. You can download the rom directly from the app. I had this issue before and that is the only way I fixed it. Make sure you download the rom that is labeled as fastboot.

For me this one
https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/how-to/recovery-unofficial-twrp-recovery-3-2-3-t3912118
Was working with the system flash to start twrp.
Also I've found in this twrp more usefull options and also more partitions of the phone could be backup.
I'm now on v17 but I've didn't got the link right now.
But don't reboot after flashing twrp and system with adb command, use instead the hardware keys to boot in twrp.
If you've got a backup then you can restore it, may be you've got to flash then also magisk again.
This was the way which was working for me.

Bricked Mi 9 Lite
Hello. I know this may not be the right topic for which I am sorry. I need your help!
At night my mother's phone caught a bootloop (MI 9 Lite) This is a factory phone used for a month. I was looking for ways to solve the problem. The phone sticks to the MI logo and restart. MI flash sees the phone but there is an error during flash. The program sees the device but does not want flash. I have no idea how to solve the problem. Please help.

[ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP7TP] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 7T Pro

Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via recovery (either stock) because is no more needed. The updates will be done on the slot not used for example if you are using slot a the update will be installed on slot b and the slot b will be set as default. If you brick and you are in bootloop how you can restore the rom? You can't with Stock ROM you have, because the zip can be only installed via Update Engine, so what can you do? Flash a stock rom via fastboot. I have extracted all images from the stock zip and i have made a new zip with the Fastboot ROM with a flash-all.bat included. This will work only if your bootloader is unlocked. This will erase all your data and will wipe your internal storage.
HOW TO FLASH
This version is only for not branded devices
Download the zip;
Unpack the zip in a folder;
Reboot the OnePlus 7T in fastboot-bootloader mode (Power and volume + and volume-);
Connect the OnePlus 7T to PC;
Run flash-all.bat flasher you need;
Wait until the process end;
The phone will automatically reboot.

For now branded device are not supported
MANUAL FLASH: Windows - OSX - Linux
If you want to manual flash these roms these are the commands (You need the latest sdk platform tools, you can find it here
Is reccomended to format data or the rom cannot boot:
Code:
fastboot -w
Others Commands to flash a fastboot rom
Code:
fastboot flash aop aop.img
fastboot flash aop aop.img
fastboot flash bluetooth bluetooth.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dsp dsp.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash LOGO LOGO.img
fastboot flash modem modem.img

fastboot flash opproduct opproduct.img
fastboot reboot fastboot
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash product product.img
fastboot reboot
REMEMBER
"Invalid sparce file format at header magic" is not an error, you need to wait a bit when you see that string, just wait.
If the device automatically reboot in Stock Recovery mode don't reboot it and wait the flash end.
These ROMs can't be used to update or downgrade your phone but just to restore your phone.
If the rom seems doesn't start go in recovery stock and follow this guideline: English -> Wipe data and cache -> Erase everything.
If you want to rebrand your phone from HydrogenOS to OxygenOS you can follow this guide: Rebrand Guide
If you want you can use also my tool to flash Factory Images, unlock bootloader, flash twrp or to understand if the device is recognized: https://toolaio.tk/
If you got some problems like write error or no partition, check this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76658555&postcount=34

Hello! Can I flash this ROM to change from Hydrogen OS to Oxygen OS as per instruction "Rebrand guide"? Because on official website Oxygen OS ROM is not available for 7T Pro!
Can you (or anyone) post the oxygenOS build zip which I can flash via updater?
Right now I'm on hydrogen OS and want to move to OxygenOS by official means.

Have I bricked my 9t Pro (Global)

Hi everyone,
I've unlocked my mi 9t pro (8gb version) today (purchased from Hong Kong sent to Melbourne/Australia) and tried to flash TWRP. When I finally got into TWRP I deleted everything through advanced wipe (this is probably where I stuffed up). I rebooted and now I'm forever stuck in the fastboot screen.
I can use the cmd fastboot to re-load the twrp.img successfully. If I do that, I hold UP+PWR and it just returns me to fastboot screen. However, when I try to use 'fastboot boot twrp.img' I get the following error;
Code:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.398s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error)
finished. total time: 1.408s
I can't go anywhere from here. I've attempted to use the miflash tool, but it's just throwing errors at me.
Any help here would be great.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks,

If you have access to fastboot then you haven't killed it. You need to use MiFlash and try different official fastboot ROMS until you get the same as it came with (same rom not neccessarily same version number). Make sure you flash using "clean all and flash" and DON'T select lock.
Eventuallly one will work, you may have to try diffent versions of MiFlash and different ROMS but stick with it.
Also put the IMIE from the box it came in, into the Xiaomi authenticator site and if it's in Chinese, stick to chinese roms.
Your phone's only bricked if you can't access fastboot... something I once did to a Mi8 Pro.
reboot on fastboot
download first FASTBOOT ROM for your china version (Miui 10)
download miflash
install this rom throough miflash
regards

Is there any particular version of miflash that will work? When I try to run the latest (MiFlash20181115) I get the messages to 'Please install driver'. I click install, and it gives me errors. I'll attach what I'm seeing. I'll try different versions of miflash.
edit: Ok I've tried a different version of Miflash which doesn't throw driver errors at me when I install it. It can detect my phone in fastboot mode. I guess I need a list of mi 9t pro global fastboot roms. I'm looking for that. I've downloaded miui_RAPHAELGlobal_V10.3.3.0.PFKMIXM_67fb825970_9.0.zip but I'm pretty sure that's a regular ROM. I'm going to google 'mi 9t pro global fastboot rom' and see what I can find. Thanks!
Hopefully this works. Will it re-lock my bootloader if I select 'clean all' only?

I'm guessing you may have a China rom if it's an 8gb version and definitely if it's 8gb/256gb. Latest fastboot roms can be found here:
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/raphael/
I'd try the latest of any rom with clean all. DO NOT SELECT CLEAN ALL AND LOCK unless you're sure its' the original rom variant that came with the phone.
PS I have the China rom, debloated and with all google goodness and it's easy to do, if you ever wanted to relock the bootloader in the future for google play.
Probably disable driver signature in Windows or an older version of me flash ( can't recall what i have since my laptop is semi dead ) , and make sure you actually install those drivers ( about 5 of them ) .
SOLVED
Ok, here's the fix that worked for me.
The latest Miflash didn't work, it's the portable version (I think) so it didn't come with the drivers and didn't run. I downloaded the next miflash which was MiFlashSetup_eng.msi. I can't find the download link at the moment, but it was an install package not the .zip with the contents.
Next, I found the global fastboot rom, which was called raphael_eea_global_images_V10.3.1.0.PFKEUXM_20190723.0000.00_9.0_eea_f70f6415ea.tgz (3.2gb).
From fastboot I ran the XiaoMiFlash.exe. I moved the fastboot rom to the same root folder of the flash program. Pointed it to the folder the fastboot rom was in, and clicked flash. Don't forget to select 'clean all' not 'clean all and lock' from the app.
That was it, and it worked. After it flashed everything (took a bit of time) I unlocked my phone again using mi unlock app. Installed TWRP, and DID NOT do advance flash, just left it on the default stuff. Did that, and am now using pixelexperience 9.0.
Again, thanks to everyone for replying, I'll be clicking thanks. I hope this helps anyone else in the same situation as I was. If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to post here.
Thanks,
Raddest

Help with miflash

Hello. When I decided I wanted to revert to the stock MIUI rom, I used the miflash tool to try and flash the fastboot rom for my device (K20 pro Chinsese variant). However, I'm facing a problem where miflash seemingly does nothing, and is stuck on this message:
$for /F tokens = 2 =: "%i in (fastboot -s b2cf370 getvar anti 2 > $1 | findstr/r/c: "anti" do (set...
Any help would be appreciated
Mmm, Miflash is really finicky, everything has to be perfect for it to flash fastboot roms. Just to clarify, have you got the latest drivers updated? Device in fastboot mode? Tried different usb ports and cable? What version Miflash? Fastboot and Miflash files in C: drive?
If all that fails then you could try going into the fastboot rom itself and their should be a option 'flash all' and it'll flash the rom in command instead. Not recommended but usually works for me.

Here's the fastboot flashing guide from the official Mi forums
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
On a mobile browser you will need to view it in desktop mode.
There is a link to the latest Mi Flash Tool. If you didn't get your copy from here, then download it and try that.
With the phone connected and in fastboot mode, try the 'fastboot devices' command before flashing, and make sure you get a valid response.

Bricked k20 pro . Need help!

so here how i bricked my phone.
i wanted to try new miui 12 on my k20 pro .so i download the latest beta release from official sources, then what i did next is change the device name in update script of miui 12 zip file ,i replaced 'Raphael' by 'Raphaelin' as i am using Indian variant after tring it for some time i decided to go back to my previous version as i had an backup.
After i restored my back up and reboot it went into boot loop , keeps booting till logo.(restore was 100%ok)
so next i took it to just install a custom rom ,i decided upon pixel rom and installation went successfully but on reboot option it showed me no os installed .
So i decided what the **** lets just go to stock rom using 'mi flash tool' (i have used this method as last resource many time before in case if all went to ****) but in this time it showed my an error of mismatching image and device . i don't know why this happened as i have done it many times before and every time it went pretty ok.
then i tried to boot to recovery but to no avail it was not happening i keep booting into bootloader next what i did is try to reflash my recovery
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
it went ok
then
fastboot boot twrp.img
it showed me an error
creating boot image...
creating boot image - 38807552 bytes
Sending 'boot.img' (37898 KB) OKAY [ 0.836s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')
fastboot: error: Command failed.
so my current situation is i can't boot into recovery and i install stock miui with mi flash .
so Guys any idea why this all is happening.
Are you able to boot into recovery by using 'volume+' and power button combination?

What ROM did you try and restore in the Mi Flash Tool?
If you tried an Indian ROM, then try to flash a Chinese ROM instead.

You need to remove these lines from .bat files within fastboot ROM folder. or if you are on Linux then corresponding lines from .sh files.
Code:
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *raphaelin" || echo Missmatching image and device
fastboot %* getvar product 2>&1 | findstr /r /c:"^product: *raphaelin" || exit /B 1
