Up, I ask the same thing
Ok ok gsi and openkirin arent the same but in some ways are however as phatpows noted out there, me and another Dev are working on to fix those bugs in twrp and see what we can do to expand the custom rom availability for this device.
For bootloader unlocking I don't know anymore ask around on honor/Huawei communities and see if anyone is giving out free unlocker bootloader codes if not and you can't wait, you can get one at your service centre if you live in India apparently I live in London and I don't think we have one although we have funkyhuawei like every other country globally so just phone up or just request a bootloader unlocker codes for 55 dollars ruffly 43 pound sterling
Hope this helps and answers everyones queries for the time being.

We have to find a way to unlock the bootloader without paying, if there are few people the modding for this smartphone will be very slow, so many do not unlock it because it costs a lot the key Funkyhiawei! Prediction, there will be a way in the future to unlock the free bootloader??? I'm hoping for it day after day in a solution.
I'll stay stock because I can't afford to spend money being unemployed.
I've tried flashing stock recovery but twrp is still there as my recovery
Any help???

AI should be working as it has Huawei's camera app. However on Honor Play, personally for me fingerprint didn't work for screen unlock. It did work for gestures and everything but the screen unlock. I have tried more than a couple times with different gsi's and everytime I roll back to emui due to FP issue

This thread will be deleted, but I just want to let you know that we will start to recieve the oreo update in two weeks from now. I spoke with Huawei and they confirmed this in a private chat.
Today I found in firmware finder this, a rollback to emui 5.1 .. This is obviously because of 8.0
(I hope I was understandable)

EMUI 8.0 Beta comes with Treble enabled.
Thumbs up for Huawei for knowing what dev community needs.
With that said, hopefully someone will start developing custom AOSP Treble ROM for this device.

there is already a lone ROM for our device. i thinki it's under the mate 10 lite forums and i bet it's based on stock rom. i don't haveplans to root and try it out though as we don't yet have full firmware packages for those who want to reflash. i hope huawei won't be so stingy giving out full firmware packages tho.

Course it won't. If huawei obeys google's 2-year update policy, we should also get P as our last update but i'm crossing my fingers for android Q. ??? since huawei was kind enough to update P9 to O, making it 3 major updates. My friend previously owns a P9. Now she owns a Mate 10.
As per Huawei Officials in my country, Oreo update will be rolled out before end of 3rd quarter of 2018.

you have oreo firmware?
( this guide works perfect , i recommend that someone can make a better full guide , mine is working but i did it very fast, just to let people know, that you can root Huawei P10 Plus with OREO easily and fast without needing this rebranding thing.. )
1. First unlock your bootloader following Huawei unlock method. you can doing it here in french: https://hwid5.vmall.com/CAS/portal/userRegister/regbyemail.html
English here:
https://hwid5.vmall.com/CAS/portal/...huawei.com/en/source/plugin/hwlogin/login.php
IMPORTANT ***** Official Huawei web page for Unlock Bootloader is DOWN for a month for maintenance, someone confirmed this on xda forum, you can try to contact Huawei for a bootloader unlock request here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeGwoQ44zqykuTfjCQrVP07JOHBYnBcAxAbz9SAVxPTFqMh9g/viewform
BUT you need to do this:
Go to Settings > Developer Options and enable ‘OEM Unlocking’.
you need to do other small things if it doesnt work, i made this guide fast , i know newbies will have a few difficulties, but this guide to root p10 plus is possible to do for everyone, someone need to do a better guide than mine im in a hurry these times, sorry)
2. Follow this little guide. and use FHMate10Tool joined in the guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/guide-how-to-root-p10-p10-oreo-firmware-t3720443
After 2 reboots your phone will be rooted. no need to do this rebranding thing ...
NOTE: WORKS WITH ROGERS CANADA HUAWEI P10 PLUS. Should works with any P10 PLus phone. my version is : VKY0L09 8.0.0.310(C654) OREO android os 8.0.0. EMUI 8.0.0
DONT WORRY i know the app is for Huawei Mate 10, but it will work for P10 Plus. it was done by Funky huawei, i know these guys, i paid for their service in the past, i unbricked a phone with them, their apps works flawessly, i suppose the joined app by funky has been uploaded by the guy in the guide, dont worry use it on your p10 plus. its free

Thats true, but for new devices only. If your device is prior to may 2018, you still have 2 months time to get the code, before the service becomes unavailable. The code is available at this link:

All the links to the Huawei services are down. And they dont give the unlock code anymore..
But on the bright side, it is just a couple of dollars so well worth the money. Searching for a hour costs you more

This is not true if you are on the latest firmware.
I was refunded and told:
Huawei has updated security and its impossible to read bootloader unlock code on new firmwares.
Only 30 euro service can unlock latest firmware bootloader.
Any other way of rooting and putting on a basic ROM now ?
Hello,

Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting us, in order to ensure better user experience, we have fully stop the boot loader unlock code service on 25th July'18 and the same date is already mentioned on our Official EMUI website.
We apologies for the inconvenience caused. Please stay tuned on our official pages for latest updates.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you better. Please help us by taking a few minutes to tell us about the service that you have received so far. We appreciate your feedback and want to make sure we meet your expectations:

Hello RAR1991,
thanks for your reply, if I understand correctly, I need to upgrade my EMUI version to version 8 to have oreo and I can root the device?
Hello guys,
First of all : I will try it today and will say if it worked.
I know that a lot of people have troubles searching for a working method to unlock your Huawei Mate 10 Pro bootloader.
I tried almost all things. Bought a 4 Euro Access code for the DC Unlocker but got a error message 375 - device not supported for 8.0.0.157 C432.
Now I found someone which provides unlock codes also for the latest firmware version
I paid 30 euro to get the unlock code (wrote him in WhatsApp )
https://ministryofsolutions.com/huawei-bootloader-unlock-service-all-new-models-new-firmwares
After you get your Unlock code you have to follow these guide
https://www.droidwiki.org/wiki/Huawei/Bootloader_Unlock
Or Herr
https://ministryofsolutions.com/2016/04/official-huawei-bootloader-unlock-tool.html
As I said I got the unlock code now and will report you, if it worked. Stay tuned.
PS: this guy from WhatsApp is so nice ! Got my code after 5 minutes. Helped me and answered all my questions
Pretty high price for something that was for free till a few months ago
Yes its true but it worked for me.
Now I'm running openkirin omnirom.pie.
It the code wouldn't worked I had to buy a new phone so it's good now
I just received a refund from Ministry of Solutions, as they can no longer provide a code for my Mate 10 Pro. Not sure whether this applies to earlier firmwares (mine is BLA-L09, 8.0.0.137).
EDIT: Apparently the service is back up and running. I have since paid again and received an unlocking code. I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Wanted a much faster phone but I have to say I'm got the stock back but with twrp and root.
Stock is the stablest one for mate 10 pro.
I will delete all the bloatware on stock and I like the emui much more.
Now I have magisk and some cool modules. I can also use android auto and mirror my complete phone (main reason for root)
Do any of you guys know any custom ROM for this device ?
TWRP is available, so you can root your device and optimise it, but I dont think there'll be a custom rom for your device, mainly because it has an mtk chipset.
Yes
Wish there's one
gsi images is a great way to customize our phone.the problem is the dynamic partition.we must find a way ,to flash a gsi image in the dynamic partition.
i think we can start the fastboot mode over the twrp recovery.i dont no ,how usefull this is to flash a rom.can anybody with more practice test it. iam not sure if i can flash the system.img easily to the system partition.
Custom roms will be available after when realme release official bootloader unlock tool (deepest.apk) because unlocking via mtkclient corrupts dm-verity and fastboot mode.
Thanks Tony for the information
Thanks Tony

Thank you for writing to us.
We would like to inform you that we are constantly working to improve our user's experience through regular updates based on our receiving suggestions and feedback. We do not provide support for bootloader for EU region
