Can't access ODIN mode - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello guys. I just got a note 9 recently from abroad, and wanting to change its CSC via rooting, I tried to access ODIN mode. However when I press the bixby, volume down and power, it doesn't go there. Im pretty sure that those buttons are working. I wanted to flash custom recovery, but how do I do that when the bootloader isnt loading in the first place? Any ways on how to restore everything back to stock first so I can go back to ODIN? Please help.

Can you get into recovery? by swapping the volume buttons.. It has a reboot into bootloader option

Just tried what you advised. Nope, the phone goes into a normal reboot instead. Perhaps the bootloader is corrupted? Cause the knox is 0x0 and samsung pass is still working.

Yes it does recognize my phone, but again it just does a normal reboot. The same thing when I try to reboot to bootloader using stock recovery.

Yeah that sounds fubar, you might have to take it to Samsung. Have you tried using Samsung desktop software to try and load firmware

I might try Smart Switch and see if it gets the job done. I'll update you when something has changed. Thanks for your help.

I might be wrong, but as far as i understand
accessing Download mode on Note 9 is slightly different than the previous Notes models ?
(The button combo is slightly different?)

tried but no luck...Im guessing that my bootloader is somewhat corrupted. I might really need to get this fixed in a repair shop.

No, it is not corrupted.. Try to hold down the volume down + bixby and then plug in the USB-cable. It should boot right into download mode.

[HELP] Briked phone

Hi Guys!
Yesterday I change the Sim Card on my phone. I power off it normaly and change the SIM. When I try to boot the phone again this didn't boot.
My case is the same as in this video, but I did not try to flash the device before (In the explanation of the video, the user says that he tried to flash a custom rom, In my case it was the original rom)
I had to attach a txt with link to Youtube (sorry)
I try to Flash with Odin. Apparently Odin flash the device correctly (with de original firm). But the result is the same, don't boot.
Anyone else did the same?
Is the display turning on?
If yes, where does it hang?
If no, it's a hardbrick and your ace is dead.

Yes, the display turn on (same as you watch in the end on the vídeo); the device turn on the screen and then turn off (< 1 sec) and don't shown nothing (No Samung Logo or Galaxy ACE...) . But the phone boot in "downloading ..." mode and "RAMDUMP" mode.
Thanks for your reply :good:

Do you reach revovery? Home+power button. If yes, do a factory reset, and reboot. It should work.
If this doesen't help try flashing this firmware with odin XWKB7. It's 2.2.1 Froyo (4 files and multi-CSC, how to: http://droidangel.blogspot.hu/2011/05/samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-original-stock.html), and after that flash a 2.3.6 firmware.

No, the phone don't boot in recovery.
I like to try the first firmware in the first link (to hotfile) but it's down. Can you send me in a PM? Thanks!

I'm working right now, so I can not open a lot of sites. Use google, search for XWKB7. I guess, you will find a working link.

Yes, sorry I use google and I find them. And I flashed with Odin and he situation did not change. The phone don't boot. .
Tanks for your Replies!
i think as per your comments....your phone's hardware is damaged internally...as you have no try to flash a rom...how is it possible ? to brick a phone ? go to samsung service center and get it repaired...

Yeah, maybe that's the right way. Bring it to the service, but do not tell them anything about odin and firmwares, even about sim card. Just tell them that you used the phone it suddenly stop responding than turn itself off, and since than you cannot turn it on... Or something like that.
Thanks guys!
This afternoon I will send the phone to Samsung to give me budget...
Thanks for your replies!

Cannot boot into download or recovery...what to do?

Hi all
I am using stock Uk firmware ending LSO 4.1.2
The Home button is unresponsive sometimes and i have to press it a few times to get it to work.I read about the voice/talk double click problem so unticked that then disabled the app.
I think i bricked the phone a few weeks ago as it stuck on the flashing samsung screen at boot.I returned it to phones4u for repair and although it works a little better i think there may be a few conflicts so want to enter recovery then totally wipe everything and start again.
The problem is that i cannot enter recovery or download! Before it was sent for repair i was only able to enter download so tried some other stock roms 4.04 etc through odin but nothing changed.
Is there a way for me to enter recovery mode without up/home/power ?
I really hope someone can help as my note is near to useless just now with lag and major battery drain.

That worked great thank you.
Still cannot get in through up/home/power despite a total clean.
Any idea why that is? (although happy enough going down the adb route for now)
cheers

if you did clean everything, you can try to flash JB and see if that makes any difference. If still doesnt it could be hardware fault.
Edit: even if it does not work on JB you can use 4 way reboot option and you can choose to boot into recovery or download mode.

I think EMMa should work also with unlocked bootloaders.
http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/
Nope man, I think you need to install Flashtool on your pc, then install adb drivers from drivers folder in Flashtoll installation folder. Next download any firmware which you want to flash and move it to C:/Flashtool/firmware/here. Then just connect phone in flash mode and select that light in the left corner and select that firmware and tap flash. Done, your phone should boot now.

Bootloop after root

SM-T815
I have try to root with odin and cf autoroot and all work fine, then I have installed twrp for 815 5.0.2 version. After the installation the tablet restart on recovery mode, I try to make a backup and twrp works good but at the restart the tablet is in bootloop.
I can’t shut down. I can only access download mode and not recovery mode.
I have flashed the original firmware with odin and odin says PASS but at the restart it is bootloop again. I try to flash twrp again and odin says PASS, after this I can read on the start screen (the only one I can see) “recovery is not nandroid enforced”. I tried different firmware but nothing work.
Someone can help me?
Grazie 1000
Boot into recovery POWER +HOME +VOL DOWN then as soon as the screen goes blank immediately change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons.
Wipe data. If that doesn't work then factory reset.
Thanks for the answer. I try more than 100 time but it don't go in recovery mode. I tried to complete discharging and then recharging with the buttons pushed. Nothing. Every time it's stuck in the start screen and i can't shut down.

Not possible.
Try booting to Download mode then hit CANCEL then immediately hold HOME + VOL DOWN + POWER make sure you hold the buttons in that order and you must be quick.

Hi All!
I would like to share with you how I fix the preblem after root of my T815.
After long night and reading whole net I found the solution.
As you I also wants to root my device because of availible only one user. I wanted to have multiusers. So folowing the instructions downloading all software and after root I got bootloop. Trying everithing but no success. I wasn't able to flash even some of the stock ROMs.
Solution:
I found in Sammobile what is my current ROM and downloaded it. Then flash - no any problems. Went smooth. Then I root the device... and now I have rooted device with multiuser support.
It seems that after fresh flash everithing is OK. It seems that after you playing with your device for a while you enabled some options thats make your device to loop after root.
I wish you Happy New Year!
Nikog
Whoops sorry, I completely forgot to come back to you about this!
