I have international version of Nokia 7 plus, and I've participated in Developer Preview program. So now I have N7+ with last preview build and September security update. Which is quite obsolete, as you can tell.
So, my question is, are they going to upgrade dev preview phones to stable version at all? Or is there any manual way to get Stable Pie?
Yoy can manually sideload Pie Stable September (this is now only one Full OTA) and next update using same way to October, to November(booth is invremental OTA), all files and info is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/development/ota-nokia-7-plus-ota-links-t3818774
BUT if you plane unlock (unofficialy) bootloader, then is last chance BEFORE upgrade, doing rollback to Oreo April using file on same link in DP section

I just bought a lumia 925, through ATT. Comes with 8.0. Update isn't giving me 8.1 yet.
I am wondering about installing the dev 8.1 rather than wait for ATT to get around to offering it.
1. Any downsides to installing dev 8.1 rather than waiting for ATT's 8.1?
2. I am thinking that installing dev 8.1 may give me the whole op sys, rather than a hobbled version from ATT (eg, the ATT 8.0 has Data Sense removed). Might this be correct?
Dev and final version are usually the same, but once the official comes out, you will updated to the final end user version of 8.1, along with the Lumia cyan update. But, on the other hand, the official release is so close, a matter of days/weeks, might as well wait. Not sure if dev version has the data sense app, but if that's what you want, flash the preview. Doesn't matter in the end since you'll be updated to the current version either way. Just less hassle waiting for the official release.

I don't mind waiting (really, I am not finding 8.0 as much of a problem as I expected it to be after reading all the raves about 8.1).
My interest is mostly in getting all that functionality that wp 8.1 has, and not have some of it stripped if I wait for update through ATT. It is my understanding that Datasense, for example, was removed by ATT. Perhaps other features also. I don't know.
So, if I can get Datasense, and whatever else might be missing from ATT version, I'll go for the dev version. If the update through normal channels will be the same as going for the dev version I'll wait. (Again, assuming that I am not letting myself in for other problems by having the dev version)
I updated to 8.1 today. Install of developer app, then 3, 8.1 updates. An d yes, it has data sense.
So far so good. no problems.
Good for you, buddy
I was looking at the Nexus 6 factory images. It looks like it jumps from 6.0 to 7.1.1, then back to 6.0, then 7.1.1......is this an error or were the 7.1.1 beta builds ?
Also is Google still making factory images for the Nexus 6 ? I thought that development was over for it, but I am pleased to see not so.
Take a look at the "shamu" section: https://developers.google.com/android/images
It's all there.
EDIT: I think you are affirming that =P Yes, we're going to receive security updates from now on. 7.1.1 is the final Android version.
Google is releasing three builds per month. One build for android 6.0, one for android 7.0 and one for android 7.1.1
Development was over at android 7.1.1 And all build has security patches only.
Correct, I was just confirming that the security updates were being rolled out. Then after Nov that's it huh ? Only custom development ? This is my first Nexus where development will stop /

Well, every Nexus get software updates from Google during 2 years.
Seeing all the ROMs in development/original development, the Nexus 6 is far from being dead... :good:
Cheers...
Basically I've been having issues finding information on the non-indian models for the g5S plus, especially retgb xt1805. My questions are
Does it have Android 8/.1(stock)
What is the most recent build for retgb (stock)?
and how can I get this build
The last two are because I cannot find any solid information on the correct firmware for it.
1) latest build for retgb appears to be the June 2018 security patch 7.1.1 NPSS26.116-26-18. https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/8w0c0c/june_patch_now_available_on_retgb
2)I don't think Android Oreo has been released outside of India, since the soak test is running at the moment. Hopefully it should be released globally soon.
3) if you want the latest build, have a look at the Google drive link mentioned in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77025728&postcount=507 that should be the June 2018 firmware leaked from the Motorola servers (reteu and retgb seems to share firmwares), but please flash responsibly and ensure you have a backup of your important data.
Right now I have OB 30.

I would recommend to wait for Stable PIE OTA (should be available by MAY END).
If you switch to CB PIE then probably your data will be wiped AND when the stable OTA is launched then AGAIN you'll probably have to wipe all data.
Performance is okay-ish and battery drain is present on current CB PIE BETA.
Why OB dont get new pie update?
stable release was more recommend?

The OB program technically ended in July 2018. I think the philosophy was that the 3T was old enough to not warrant testing of new/experimental features; and presumably OnePlus was going to focus resources on their newer devices.
OnePlus is calling the PIE update a "community beta" after completing a closed beta. So you might think of it as more or less of an open beta, whether by name or not. But seeing as this is likely the last stable update (at least the last major update) for this device, there isn't a point in testing more experimental features (such as they did with the OB builds).
Hi, the last update I have is a security patch from March 2019.
Are the offical updates for the X4 already over?
I have got a XT1900/7 device.
Thanks

Last one I got was April 1, 2019 on my XT1900-1
The latest update for the is the May 1 security update.
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/payton/official/
Using it on my Android 1 Edition and it's running very well. The March 1 update had a weird bug where the ZRAM would constantly crash slowing the phone to a crawl, no such issues on the latest update rooted with Magisk.

Hi! Is it possible to convert the reteu model (xt1900-7) to an Android 1 edition?
Thanks
I'm have the Android one edition and I just received the July security patch, if that's the updates your see referring too.
On Android One - Fi's channel (but, current sim is on T-Mobile USA) - got a system update 3 days ago and again another (2nd. one) update last night. Here are the screenshots - check & compare yours
PPW* included some system upgrade, where as the other one was a smaller Android security patch.

This could work. For a while I had run my XT1900-7 (RETEU) with XT1900-1 (RETAIL) ROMs. Everything worked except for Google Pay.
Hi, I just got July's update this morning (Moto X4 XT1900-7 RETEU)

Yes, it is possible, but OTA's will not work. Only fastboot flash full ROM every month will work (if full ROM will be available for download...)
I am getting mental with the Moto X4 xt1900-7 Reteu. What about the updates? I got this phone from Amazon Spain, but I am currentlyin Germany, the phone came with the basic 7.1.1 firmware, and got authomatically updated to 8.0.0, OPW27.2, Security Patch Level: 1 December 2017. I bought this because of the small size, and his compatibility with Lineageos, but I need the Android 9.0 Pie before installing Lineageos (this is stated in Lineagerom webpage). The update never come ...... System Update says "Your Device is Up To Date".... Frustating!!! Do you know if there is a version of Lineageos that I can install fromOreo 8.0? or can I download Android Pie for my Moto somewhere? Sorry, getting totally mental Can anybody help me please?

Solved!!! Maybe someone would be interessed about this, just posting my experience
Lineageos installation instructions say the following: Warning: Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is currently using Android 9 firmware.
My Moto X4 XT1900-7 Reteu didn´t get the Android 9 update (still no idea why), it took me 3 days looking for a way to install the update manually with no success. Then I decided to try install lineage-19.1-20221123-nightly-payton-signed.zip anyway and it worked
The process was totally smooth and extremely fast, everything seems to be working perfectly, but I would like you to know that I didn´t install any Gapps, so I can´t confirm if this could create any problem.
Thank you to XDA and all the contributors, this is a fantastic source of info
