Dear forum members, i have just purchased MiA2 and i already have Redmi 3sprime, now i want to transfer all my call logs and sms to new MiA2 from old 3s Prime, so does anybody please guide me on this, i have tried with CloneIt app but it was not connecting, I already tried with Sms Backup & Restore app but with this app sms and call log can be transferred, but after transferring call log will not display whole call log as same as old 3sprime, it will display only around last 20 days of call logs, so need any app that can transfer call log from old 3sprime to new MiA2.
Thanks in advance
Do you have root? You can use titanium backup for that
Otherwise you can restore from Google backup

I always backed up the settings.
After I installed cyanogenmod I restored all my apps using Titanium backup manager.

If you have Titanium Backup Pro....think you can extract from the Nand backup...I would suggest you to try MyPhone Explorer where you can backup your apps, messages and contacts+files to the computer easily via wi-fi, USB, BT as well.
Hope this helps.

I have tried extracting from nandroid and still not appearing.
I had saved a message in private box and it is there but the other messages are not.

This feature is only with TB Pro and not in the free version.... u have that?
I know I have the pro version and have restored the app from it and it's still not there.
I think I backed up settings and not the actual messages.
I thought titanium backup would restore it though

Did u do the batch restore?with apps+user data?how was it?
yes it did not work. On the stock rom there was a app that backed up I think messages, contacts, calander etc. Do you know what it was? Maybe I could use that to get them back?

I am not sure if I used it.I agree there was something which used the battery and drained it fast....think the devs removed it as we can use the TB for almost all things....
My sim contacts don't show up in cm also.
Titanium doesn't save sms, at least for Go, I've never had them restored except for private box. The only way is to save them from within Go. Try Appextractor that can retrieve sms from nandroid.

Open the Contacts and I remember there is something to be selected, to show the SIM+Phone contacts....if not, only the phone contacts are only shown. Check the CM thread...you will get some answer there....
BTW perhaps Go just read sms in stock sms app that's why they are not saved by titanium. Try to restore stock sms app's data.
If you backed up the sms you will find them in GOSMS/backup just take the latest backup and paste it into /sdcard/GOSMS/backup/SmsRestore and then from GO SMS app restore the msges.
Hello!
For backup of your SMS, calendar and contacts use MyPhoneExplorer – as already stated - it is free and will backup those including all SMS.
Titanium backup is good for your apps – but since you contact/sms/calendar app has changed it with the update to CM7 – Titanium won’t help you cause it only restores data for specific apps – and if they aren’t there it doesn’t restore the data for them.
As for the contacts from SIM - did you do import from SIM?

Yes I have and it says "No contacts on your SIM card." I have tried my sim card in another phone and there is contacts.
I have tried AppExtractor and it restored contacts!! They still not showing from sim though
Hello!
I don't use contacts from SIM since my old Nokia 3210-days - so I don't know any other methods...sorry...
You could try to bluetooth the contact using your other phone - if it is able to or try to export some other format (i.e. vcal).
I used Thunderbird with plugin for vcal to import my old contacts from my SE P1i.
Me too, I use only google sync.
Ok. Thank you for all your help.
I have got them back using AppExtractor. On the stock rom contacts there was a option to import facebook contacts. Is it possible in cm?
Hello!
I don't use facebook - so I will guess...
I am pretty sure it should be automatic if set it up in...
setting > accounts & sync
...if you have installed the facebook app - that is - of course...
When you set it up to sync with calendar/contacts it should do so automatically - at least this is the way it does with my MS Exchange and WhatsApp account.
dear all,
since Cyanogenmod 10.1 ported 4.2.1 to our Note [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046592], believe many have used it, I tried on mine but cannot migrate call log and sms to the install rom
I tried Titanium Backup and MyBackup but after restore data Contacts app FC when open call log or dialer and partly sms showed in Message, never happened with previous rom
so if anyone managed to migrate call log and sms into CM10.1 please help to share how you did that
thanks a lot in advance
It's clearly stated in the op of that rom that not to retore any data from titanium backup. So there is no way to restore the call logs. For SMS you could use an app from play store called "SMS backup and restore"
This has always worked for me. But try at your no risk.
Make a Nandroid backup of the old Rom. Then when on the new Rom, use TB option extract from Nandroid backup and choose the call log option
thanks a lot for your sharing I will try when back home

I have been using Go backup pro on a lot of phones to backup my apps along with their data. However, the same fails on Mi3. The backup simply shows a 'fail' status beside the apps. However, it is successfully backing up my messages, call logs, contacts etc. Please let me know if this app cannot be used to take backups on Mi3.

Check if it has all required permissions. MIUI restricts suspicious permissions for apps. Go to Security app> Permissions or the App Info screen for Go Backup...
After backing up data from twrp, what needs to be done to restore it back after flashing new rom?
Also, will it backup all my data, i mean, including the app data like i open whatsapp and all my chats are there and it doesn't open like newly installed app.
You need to go back TWRP and then Restoring that you backup
Nope, i ever backup with TWRP and then restore, but i need to download game source again. For whatsapp history chat u can use the feature from it self, u can found it by Hold press on the chat / Setting menu (i'm not sure, because my main chat is LINE but i also use whatsapp )
I usually use Titanium Backup, but your phone need to be rooted before,
Hi all,
Can Samsung Smart Switch restore/transfer 3rd party launchers like Nova? Can it restore all my apps data?
Thanks
No, but you can do the backup and restore with "Helium Backup", create a backup of Nova Launcher inside of Nova Launcher on a SD card and restore the backup on your Note 9

You can do a Nova backup to an SD card or to your Google Drive and restore to your new phone.
Doing a full phone backup and restore to new phone takes some work and time. As others stated above, for Nova backup your settings to your SD card, then put your SD card into your new phone.
For texts, calls and phone settings, Samsung smartswitch will do all of that. For apps AND their data you have to use Helium. Helium is slow and often takes many tries to get certain apps to fully migrate their data. I suggest backing up the app data from your old phone, then when you install the new apps on your new phone, just have Helium install the new apps fresh from the play store but let Helium add the DATA for those apps in as they install. That has worked the best for me at least. You can try to do full app and data backup via Helium, but that takes much longer to transfer the apps and data to your new phone.
I really, really wish Titanium didn't need root to do app/data backup and migration. Titanium works so much better/faster than Helium, but at least Helium works (most of the time).
Is Helium safe?
It will not mess with warranty, knox fuse, secure folders?

It's completely safe. Does not mess with any of those things. Warranty is safe. Helium is the only non-root app and data migration tool that works (to my knowledge).
I just tried Helium, it can't backup about 70% of my apps :'(
I need help to restore my GBWhatsApp Plus chats!
On Samsung Note 8 Android Pie, GBWhatsApp Plus 6.65 ([email protected]_hoak)
1. Did my phone backup va Samsung Smart Switch.
2 . Followed the steps to get the call recording function (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/call-recording-android-9-t3846235/post78869864)
3. After my restore, when I tried to start GBWhatsApp and clicked the red button "Restore", loading bar appeared and app closes by itself.
4. Tried the following to reattempt s/n 3 but no avail:
a. Restarted my phone
b. Upgraded to GBWhatsApp Plus 6.70 (GBWAPlusv6.702.18.327_arm64v8a)
c. Restored GBWhatsApp application backup specifically from Samsung Switch
------------
P/S: I did not manually backup my chat in GBWhatsApp as I subconsciously treated that it was automatically backup-ed like the original WhatsApp / taken care of by Samsung Smart Switch.
Also, was trying to research on restoring GBWhatsApp chat backups and I stumbled on posts mentioning about GBWhatsApp folders on the file mangaer, however my phone shows WhatsApp folders instead, is this because I'm on the GBWhatsApp Plus version?
Is this all making any sense? Is there anything that I missed / else that I need to do successfully get my chats back?
Currently, I'm running GBWhatsApp 6.70 (from s/n 4b) in the meantime. Really want to get my previous chats back and later do a merge of previous and current chats.
Appreciate any kind help/advice on this! :crying:

1stly backup your whatsapp account to your Google Drive. Insert your GB SIM into your device and install whatsapp normally. There will be an option to restore from your back up,
This is the very reason why prefer Telegram over Whatsapp.

You're referring to backing up previously or currently? Since I'm on GBWhatsApp Plus, I don't see the option of auto-backup to Google Drive except manually clicking back up. What do you mean by GB SIM? Original WhatsApp? I'm confused

I felt the same when this happened. Unfortunately, most of my contacts on still on Whatsapp and I need functions from the GB mod.
