this way of obtaining root doesnt work with global phone (firmware 7.1.0.0g). you need to have chinese phone with firmware 7.1.0.0a to get root with mroot site Global firmware 7.1.0.0g cant get root yet
if you want to put chinese firmware 7.1.0.0a to your global device and get root check this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pro-7/how-to/meizu-pro-7-firmware-chinese-to-g-t3690752/page14
i see you are a new member the guide is difficult for beginners and i suggest you dont try it
you can go back to 7.0.0g and get root easier.

Do you know if root obtained in China ROM 7.1.0.0 A is enabled for a specific Flyme account? If it does, would be possible to enable root in 7.1.0.0 G for the same account after it obtained root in A ROM for the same account? Does Meizu server remembers that it gave root rights for that account and would enable root further, no matter what ROM (G orA) that account logs in?
I tried only latest Beta ROM but in this firmware it isn't possible to use mroot method because Beta ROM uses the same old root prior to 7.1.0.0 G and I didn't bother to install latest A stable.

I followed the guide and installed 7.1.0.0A and i automatically had root i didnt had to follow the mroot procedure.
Now that i check the mroot site my phone is in the list together with my other meizu phone mx4pro.
So there is a possibility for root to work even with 7.1.0.0 G
But i havent tested it. If i have time ill try it

That's too bad. I gave up Beta ROM and settled on 6.1.3.2G, it's more battery friendly than 7.0.0.0G.
One more question, maybe you know the anwser: did you managed to replace stock root with SU and install SuperSU and Xposed framework in 6.1.3.2G?

Read my answer again i edited it . I tried the mroot site again and my phone is shown in the list. Maybe it works even in G firmware but it needs testing. Supersu doesnt work it causes bootloop. If you remember from the guide it also told us to no reboot after superSu installation and use

Well, this is interesting, I'll test it myself as soon as I'll repair my windows computer.
Do you have some words about the other issue from my previous comment, about SuperSU and Xposed?
EDIT: my phone also appears on mroot website, but I can't apply for rooting because I'm on an older ROM that doesn't support mroot app and I can't find PSN and CHIPID elsewhere And I didn't noted these numbers nowhere...

I havent managed to make superSu to work either with 6 or 7 flyme with meizu pro 7. It causes bootloop after reboot.. superSu works with my other phone mx4pro that has flyme 6.2 firmware but based on android 5.about xposed i didnt try it in my pro 7 .

After a short period on China stable and beta ROMs, I decided to come back to the latest Global ROM, 7.1.0.0G and I had a very big surprise: I obtained root!
So, after installing latest Global firmeware, a couple of days ago, I checked mroot.flyme.cn and reapplied for root authorization, mostly because my device appeared on that list of devices to chose from (a code and Meizu Pro 7 name, as in the screenshot). This was not the case before installing chinese ROMs, when only two weird alphanumeric strings were showing, with no particular name or phone model. Today, I checked the mroot app and the root button turned blue I pressed it and, after a few messages, it dissappeared and a short chinese text was shown on the app main page. I went to activate root like the tutorials suggest: in easy mode create a shortcut to root.OpenSystemRightActivity and activate the root function by entering Flyme account password. After the phone rebooted the root capability was enabled, every app I use that needs root works flawlesly.
So, I confirm: root can be obtained on the latest Flyme 7.1.0.0G for Meizu Pro 7 M792H.

Ok, I downloaded 4.1.0.524.apk from the link below for my UK T800 running KitKat v4.4.2 and it worked, and knox is still valid.
Build Number KOT49H.T800XXU1ANFB
I am still on the stock rom, I have never flash my T800.
I tried the latest KingRoot a couple of weeks ago and it just failed, both apk and pc.
I have tried 3 root checks and they all say i have root.

EDIT : I just needed to install an SD Card Fix, All works great now.
Ok, I love File Manger HD Free, I have enabled root in the settings, I can delete files from my microsd, but i cannot delete a directory, I get the cannot message about v4.4 third-party apps not being ablet to do stuff.
So what is wrong.
Thanks.

Ok, when i go online the app on the right with the Chinese characters, translates as "Purification Master" according to google translate pops up with some message Is this just checking for updates, can i disable it.
I will need the app that pops up when it askes for root permissions is that kinguser, and the other is kingroot all three are running.
What can i remove or disable??
Thanks
John.
Delete it, it'll start bugging you. It's an app management app. Leave kinguser and delete everything else.
Why not convert to supersu?
Do i not need kingroot or is it`s job done? , So if i need to unistall root, I need kingroot or do i just install it from the apk i used to root in the first place.
I will have a look at supersu , is it a replacement for kinguser.

You don't need kingroot any more.
To replace kinguser you need to follow my rooting guide.
Should be easy for you you've already done half of it. Just install your original Rom if you want kitkat.
I dont want to do any flashing, I am happy with stock kitkat rom now that i am rooted.
I have done enough for today.
Thanks for your help.
John.
I am not interested in Lollipop, too many reports of problems and i dont like all of the white in the stock apps and settings crazy for an oled tablet, there is nothing new that i need now that i have rooted and can read/write to my microsd, I wonder if we will get Android M.
Look at the amount of power white uses compared to an lcd display.
I had my T800 running constantly for over 260 days, No restarts or shutdowns or crashes or anything, kitkat is totally stable at least the way i use it.
John.
Did lollipop get the battery charge and discharge time listed in the link below.

So kingroot really does work on my T700 with Kitkat without tripping Know. BUT - I cannot get rid of it and replace it with SuperSU. Tried any method I found, but it simply seems to protect itself. Did anybody manage to replace the latest Kingroot installation with SuperSU? Any help is VERY MUCH appreciated!
Sorry if this sounds a litlle harsh, but what is it with you guys, do really not bother reading or searching the forum? It's a firm rule of XDA.

Ah, O.K. I will try the method to remove Kingroot, that is explained there and will propably stay with KitKat.
BUT - if I wanted to go to Lollipop with my SM-T700:
I do not understand this part:
Now we need to flash a Lollipop BOOTLOADER. I have provided a link below for the T800 and T805. If you have a T700/705/T807/T707 or if the ones provided don't work then you will have to extract it from the Lollipop stock ROM and then TAR it up.
Could anybody tell me a little bit more in detail how this is done?

Here are my MIUI 8 Global ROMS for the Mi Max Helium (64/128GB versions.) I'll update the rom as each new Global stable build is released. I recommend an unlocked bootloader and TWRP to flash this although it will also work fine with a locked bootloader and TWRP. I will keep these as close to stock as possible while maintaining most of the stock features. I am not responsible for bricked devices as a result of flashing this on a locked bootloader. You have been warned.
Features:
AdAway
Debloated
Insecure boot.img
Latest Gboard
Louder Volume Mod
Nougat Boot Animation
Rooted with Magisk
Instructions:
This is for 64/128gb Helium only. Do not flash this on 32gb Hydrogen or you'll have a bricked phone
Unlock your bootloader
Boot into TWRP
Do a backup
Wipe and flash ROM or dirty flash ROM
That's it, you're done!
Please hit the thanks button!

HELPFUL TIPS:
To permanently set your region if you own the Chinese version, edit the cust/cust/cn/cust.prop and change the region to US and variant to us (or whatever region you're in) then reboot. Your region will stick.
Do not do any OTA's if they come up or you will be in a softbrick.
If you're having an issue PLEASE STATE YOUR PHONE MODEL AND WHETHER YOU CLEAN OR DIRTY FLASHED. Saying you're having an issue without providing any information about the problem will result in your problem not getting fixed.
If you flash or recover a new rom and your lockscreen pin doesn't work, boot into twrp and delete the locksettings.db file in data/system. Then when you restart the pin will be gone.
Reserved
Gonna try it with locked bootloader and report back.
Edit:Yeah, booted just fine on locked.
I usually don't use custom roms, unless I made them myself.
That's exactly what I was planned to do:
Bloat-free miui with root.
You just saved me a lot of time.

32gb is a hydrogen device, you already have global.
This one is for 64-128gb.
If you want global, you can install it via fastboot. It's all available at miui com.
If you need root, then you can either use my guide, or if you are planning to play with cm based ROMs, then you will want to unlock.
@ajsmsg78, I played a little with a rom.
Things I've noticed so far:
In build.prop device is still hydrogen.
And I saw you removed video player...but there is a another app called miuivideoplayer and it's dependent on removed player. Basically when you open a video in file explorer it may result FC, and you can't choose default player unless you remove the second app as well.
Idk why,but hw decoder is broken for some video formats in Mx Player.
The "default app" setting is for external apps, not for build in file manager.
Also had one reboot on a clear phone, while I was setting permissions in a security app and 'Locale" is keep switching to China .

I can fix the build.prop but i was using the entire system from the Global rom. I removed Google videos which you can download from the Play Store. Removing MiuiVideoPlayer is what causes the force closes. On one of my flashes of a build I was working on before I must have had a bad flash because I had a few random reboots while uninstalling some apps while testing it. On this build I haven't had any. To set the locale permanently to your region, go to /cust/cn and edit the cust.prop and change the region and cust_variant to your region then reboot. Thanks for letting me know these things, I appreciate the feedback as well

Here is MIUI 8 Global ROM for the Mi Max Helium. I wanted to post a link to the rom so you guys can download it. I'll finish the thread soon. The rom is pre-rooted with SuperSU, busybox and is lightly debloated. I removed some of the preinstalled Google Apps to save space as you can simply download them from the Play Store. Included is AdAway. I'll update the rom as each new Global build is released. I recommend an unlocked bootloader and TWRP to flash this although it will also work fine with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP.

I'll be following this thread for your updates!
Thank you!
Will be using your donate link!
@ajsmsg78 Nice update to the thread! Enjoying your custom ROM!
this looks great - i cant wait to try it
So far so great, but I did notice a couple of odd things.
1) After a reboot my locale switches from United States back to China
2) It appears "ROOT" has disappeared from the Settings/Permissions area...?
Great ROM. Exposed framework doesn't seem to work, can install frame work and modules but nothing happens when activated. Is it a MIUI thing?

Here is the MIUI 8 ROM\'s highlights and downloads.

Thanks!!
For everybody, I recommend to use the recovery method (download the file, open the Updater app on the phone, select the .zip, confirm data wipe, done). Note that this will completely wipe your phone!
I will switch my rom tomorrow.

only way to install global rom is fastboot method and should unlock bootloader
Yeah need to unlock bootloader as I have China Developer ROM, but haven't Mi Unlock is currently not working here (Network Error), so I can't unlock it.
There is some hope to put the recovery on it, with the Chinese PC Suite, but that download is also not working
So yeah, still running Chinese Developer at the moment.

I have unlock and install the global rom without any lost of local data and even apps.
Steps:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Use miflashtools (pick global)(choose save user data option at bottom)
3. Done
But I did factory reset because those chinese apps remains and I am too lazy to uninstall them one by one.
Does bluetooth or any other smart unlock work in this build?
Can anybody try it?
Thank you very much in advance
Guys there is a new update available, check the screenshot

I flashed the mp4 CN via twrp then from there, all OTA update up to joyui 12.5 came with no problems. Ends up on CN MR1 which i noticed more stable than MP3 GLOBAL

Yes i figured out how to put google services (as you can see in the video) but it requires root. I updated my reply with the link. Flash it first using twrp (format data recommended) then update up to MR1. You will put twrp + root on MR1.
I might write a tutorial how to put playstore on CN MR1

On CN MR0, 5G SA was added and on MR1, most bugs fixed. I noticed a significant stability on 5g connection.

The only way to root with Magisk is by pulling up the boot img via ADB in TWRP but as of updating to MR2, using the same TWRP img as before only shows black screen then reboots back to the system.

Ok sorry, let me repeat my question...
I was able to download an install Google Pay, and register my debit card in the app.
However, when I try to use the NFC (contactless payment), the reader does not "read" or "acknowledge" my phone.
I am actually considering to trade my CN version to a Global version. I am using Mi 12 Pro...

Hello, I am actually afraid if I do that. So the easiest and safest solution I can think of is to trade my CN unit to a Global unit (once it becomes available).. But also I am considering if I can make use of the NFC payment method..

I had the same issue, you need to go to "Connections & sharing" then "Default wallet" and change from Mi or Sim to HCE Wallet and then you'll be able to pay using Google Pay. Make sure under "Contactless payments" the default payment is set to Google Pay and "Always use default app". This means you won't need to open Google Pay, just tap the phone to the terminal while unlocked and it'll pay. Magic.

Hello there!
I will try to set this up and see if the terminal will be able to read my device.
However, my next struggle is on the Mi Pay app.
I also now have the Xiaomi Watch S1, and in-order to set-up the contactless payment on my watch, it needs to be configured using the Mi Pay app on my phone. But the Mi Pay app has limited (Chinese) banks only... I have attached some screenshots here. Any advise?
EDIT:
After further research, I learned that the Mi Pay for the Mi Watch S1 will only work on certain regions. So I guess I cannot use it in my country.
Thanks for all the help!
