Tiny Notification Icons on AOD & Lockscreen - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Is there a way to make the Notification Icons on AOD & Lockscreen larger?
I've searched the settings and the Google for an answer. I assume it's 'no', but I am hoping there is a way, because it's hard to see what they are, especially without glasses.

Have you looked in the accessibility section of settings to see if there's anything specific to AOD/Lockscreen options?
With all of the 9.0 Betas/leaks & regional/carrier stable versions of 8.1,there's a possibility some phones may have something & others don't.......
I'm not seeing anything specific to AOD/Lockscreen on SM-N960U1 official 9.0 beta, but,if you're on any of the 9.0 betas, perhaps Assistant Menu may be of help (Settings > Accessibility >Interaction & Dexterity >Assistant Menu > Assistant Menu Options)
The floating menu button with this may be of help when Magnifier Window is selected as one of the menu options.
It's definitely not the most polished solution I could find,if it even works on the AOD/Lockscreen,but,it's the closest thing I could find to what you're looking for.
The only other option I could think of is looking for lockscreen &/or icon resizing apps in the Google Play Store that may address this.

Persistent Accessibility Notification Help

I updated my SM-N960F to Android Pie yesterday and now I can't get rid of accessibility function in use notification. There's no option to hide it and I've been poking around all day. It's the Single tap to swipe option in case you're wondering. Has anyone encountered or resolved similar issues? I can't seem to find any information on it either.
Go to accessibility in settings, 3 dots top right. You will find hide status notifications..

Thank you so much! This helped tremendously.
I don't have such option . What now? In the 3 dot menu I have only "Add to homescreen", nothing else.

Greyscale display mode on Note 9 Pie variant

When I had a OnePlus I would use it's greyscale display feature quite often, very useful for power saving etc.
I am aware that within Google devices running Pie that a greyscale option is available along with Do Not Disturb.
This feature does not appear to be ported over the the Samsung Note 9, which is a shame.
Does anyone know of a third party app or Tasker feature that could enable greyscale mode on the Note 9 where required?
Thx
You can enable Monocromacy in the Simulate colour space option in Dev options and probably get a similar effect.
Go to settings -> accessibility -> visibility enhancements -> colour adjustment , turn it on and select greyscale.

Many thanks for the tip. This achieves the desired result but is a bit fiddly, do you know if this is accessible via Tasker, or does a shortcut exist?

I made my own Tasker task shortcut on the main screen for this purpose.
The task only uses one action:
Add action -> Settings -> Custom setting
Type: Secure
Name: accessibility_display_daltonizer_enabled
Value: =:=toggle=:=
If it doesn't work for you, you can try finding the correct custom action with built-in Find function.
I see you got an answer regarding tasker. I can't help with tasker cause I've been too lazy to dig into it yet

Under the accesibility settings go to advanced settings, from there you can set the power + vol up shortcut to control the monocromacy. I've gotten quite used to this function on a OnePlus 6 and have been using it this way on the Note 9.
I think the OP6's reading mode gave it a yellowish, e-reader like tint though, which made it better imo.

Question Task Changer/Manager Alternatives?

Coming from Oxygen, there's still a lot of visual stuff I dislike about One UI, though I will say, it's FAR better than the last Samsung I used which ran TouchWiz.
Running Nova and Theme Park to get things looking/running the way I generally prefer.
The one last piece that I really dislike but can't find a complete solution for is the Task Manager. I have Home Up running, but the part that annoys me is the Recent App shortcuts. They appear to be randomly generated, and the icons are horrific and cartoony. I just don't like it.
Is there an alternative or way to just turn the recent app shortcuts off? Screenshot attached for clarity.
Home up, task changer, disable "hide search bar"
Enter recents, three dots menu in search bar, settings, disable "show recommended apps"
Now you can hide search bar again

I actually discovered that RIGHT as I got a notification of your reply.
Big thanks for chiming in.
While I still generally think One UI < Oxygen, with enough tweaks, I can deal.
Question for you OP. How'd you get home up working while using Nova. None of the settings seem to stick when changing task manager using goodlock homeup when move is set to default.

there is a recent update to One UI Home that fixed that issue for me with lawnchair.
if youre not getting it through samsung, you can sideload it from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...rience-home-touchwiz-home-12-1-05-11-release/
you also may or may not have to update home up.

Thanks that worked! Looking clean now. I also hated the suggested apps at the bottom. I use a higher dpi and that was not affected by the dpi change. So it looked even worse on my phone. They looked huge compared to everything else.

Wake up lock screen when received notification

Can someone assist me.... For some reason am not seeing the option on my device to enable Wake up lock screen when received notification
Open settings, search Wake screen, pick first option
That's the thing, am not seeing the options, even Double Tap on screen to wake up
There is a search field in Settings. The wake screen option is somewhere in Notifications, all the gestures(double tap included) are in Accesibility features.
Use the search feature for other toggles/settings

Question Custom Message in Lock Screen

I think AOD (Always On Display) has something to do with it but it seems that the option to change the custom text on Lock Screen is removed from OP10 Pro. If true, it is pretty stupid. I mean remove the text set during earlier OS versions and remove the option.
Now I have a text there which could be a wrong info (ex-wife and such) but no option to edit/remove it!
Any help please.
I think you are looking for this...
Settings; personalizations; always on display; display settings; display message.
Is that it?
First of all, thanks for replying.
I do not have Personalizations at all, under Settings. "Always-On Display" is found under Settings > Wallpapers and style > AOD. Under this > More Display Settings > Info does show some info that I can add/remove, but can't edit the message that was already set before OOS13
BTW I am on OOS13.0 (Android 13), v NE2211_11_C.20. No root, no magisk, no customization of any type!

Made an account just to post this and come out of my lurker hole.
To get Google pay option in the lock screen shortcut section available, I have to open "wallet" from the status bar drop down menu. If you open the wallet app this will not work.
Once wallet is opened from the drop down menu's icon, three dots on top right will have 1 option for lock screen settings. Click that and the first option is to change lock screen message text and the first toggle option is to allow wallet access from lock screen shortcut.
Here you can fix your text and or make that other setting available for use.
These lock screen settings are only accessible through this drop down quick menu that I have found and not the wallet app for some odd reason.
I accidentally set a "test" text to see where it would be placed and then couldn't get back to the setting and spent the next 8 hours trying to find it.
Hope this helps all who are as confused as I was.
Probably try Google Assistant application, by voice searching through it for "lock screen text" . It worked for me on Android 13 (OnePlus phone)

The issue is with the AOD custom text message, not the locksreen one.
