Hey guys,
I've been looking for this apk that works with no luck. I found a thread here that had a gcam app, but I couldn't get it to load. It hasn't been updated since September and doesn't have night sight anyways.
I found another one which I downloaded, but couldn't get night sight to work (portrait worked though)
I just got a replacement phone from att (got a new one due to charger point going bad) and csnt find that apk anymore.
Does anyone have a link they can forward me to so I can get the gcam app with night sight and portrait?
Thanks!

Every since developer B-S-G launched his first GCAM port for devices running Snapdragon, I have ported the software to all of my devices with good results. The latest iteration is the Pixel 3 with Night Sight that I was able to successfully port to my T-mobile branded Note 9. I am very pleased with the results with night time shots coming out appearing well lit and detailed. The combination of Google software and Samsung hardware make for a formidable pairing. The Note 9 is a juggernaut of fun and functionality made even better by the additional photographic options the Pixel software offers. It is, to me, the best of both worlds. How is it working for others?

So I was looking through all the current GCam builds, by that I mean all those modded ones, and I think I found the best one for Snapdragon phones. https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/cstark27_GCam_5.1.018_24_v3.6.apk
The Pixel2Mod one is the best, but requires a device whitelist to work. So, you know, it takes time.
@Arnova8G2 could you please add starqlte, starlte, star2qlte and star2lte
I think those are correct.
The one you posted crashes completely on my S9 Snapdragon. It works on yours? It won't go anywhere past accepting permissions.
The one I have that works is named gcam_5.1.018.177470874.41362666_SG7Exy_V8.2.apk. Looks like it's for an Exynos, but at least it runs.

I did a quick spin around looking for Gcam.... man, there are a lot of options! (and opinions)
This thread here has a 'stable' one with HDR+. And an additional one which is the 'best' for portrait.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/pixel-cam-hdr-s8-exynos-nougat-t3729169
The v8.2 one I referred to specifically is from the S7 forums, here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/themes/google-camera-portrait-mode-t3736859
I just installed a few but haven't had any opportunity to really test them out much. Phone is not my daily driver (yet?).
I installed one that is working but makes the phone very hot. Uninstalled it with away.

Odd this doesn't work on my S9+. Wonder if the telephoto lens is screwing it up? Is everything working for you including portrait? So far the only thing I see wrong with Samsung's stock app is in low light, it gives off reddish tint.

this INSTANT crashes on the S9+. It also crashes my phone. I am not sure why.
So it works on s9 but not s9+ for you too? @mweinbach. Check my gcam thread for s9+... also pm me your google hangouts ID if you have one
Hope someone ports it soon. I loved the GCAM on my note8. Sold it and bought the S9 thinking that the GCAM port would work on this too. Samsung stock camera is nowhere near the colors and the dynamic range of the GCAM.

I don't think its a mem leak as it shouldn't instantly crash both the app and phone

Did u get my message? The miniuser work but is heavily tinted in various condition, especially day light it goes blue. I was able to fix white balance settings to take great pictures in low ambient lighting.
I will try it
Hello all,
I just bought the p20 pro and it is working beautifully on t-mobile! My only issue is that my camera application does not have the night mode I've seen in multiple reviews (it's between aperture and portrait in the options) . If I got to more, I have a night shot mode but that was on my old mate 9 so I don't think it is the same. Can anyone clarify this? Thank you!
You answered your own question.
Place of night shot has been changed on newer firmware. You get the firmware update and nightshot will move to same place where it's on reviews.

Awesome, thank you! And sorry, my question might not have been clear in my original post. Just wanted to make sure I had the functionality is all.
Hi Guys,
I bought the unlocked S10 Plus from Samsung US and use it on Verizon. I don't seem to have an option of Night Mode or anything like that camera app. Am I missing something?
Also, does anyone know the trick to consistently prompt for the "Scan" feature when taking pictures of documents? It's so flaky that it probably works like 5 to 10% of the times...
Thanks!

Night Mode is meant to arrive to North American phones in a future update. Samsung is not telling us when, no estimated time frame. But it's meant to arrive for us eventually.
For scanning documents, I highly recommend this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intsig.camscanner&hl=en_US
It's served me very well.

Got it, thank you for the education bud. I know about the scan apps but the one baked in the camera is neat, but it rarely fires... ?
Any reason for the exclusion of night mode for the US?

Samsung probably used EU for testing purposes, so US customers will have a bug free experience
I use the scan feature all the time, in my experience the scan feature wools 95% of the time, sometimes I have to try a second time to get the whole document in as it only scans most of it. As long as you scene optimiser is set it should work. I am in the UK with an unlocked S10 and although I have the new night mode I still don't have May security patch. It appears Samsung are updating all phones with May update before the S10's which is their flagships.

Well that app seems to have better features compared to what we have stock. More capabilities.

Aren't the exynos camera sensors different to the snapdragon models? That's my hunch.

Hi, a few days ago I updated my p20 pro (italy version) and I discovered that the super macro function no longer exists in the camera .
Someone knows something about it!

Does anyone know when the 328 comes out in the UK? I've got the software issue which is 9.1.0.311(patched01) and asks me to download and install every day for the past 2 months. Will this update fix that problem? I've also got the camera focusing issue. I've arranged for it to be sent for replacement or repair but can take 10 days. Not good enough considering its well.kmown faults down to them

If you move the camera close to an object, with the AI enabled, the AI enable SUPER MACRO option.

Can anyone knows how to update Huawei P20 Pro CLT-L09 without root or without TWRP.
I am on June security patch and want to update my phone

The 2.5 update broke GCam (snapdragon). Anyone know of a recent one that works?

But I'm so happy that I can use my Nova Launcher now
Urnyx's 7.3 v2.2 and the associated configs should work.
I'm using Nova Launcher though, as a heads up, but whatever version I had prior was not even launching on Nova Launcher.

Do you know if the wide angle camera will work? I couldn't get it to work. Same with Arnova's new hot fix beta for 2.5. Which of the 4 config. files are you using with the SD S-10 and Urnyx's 7.3 v2.2?

Oof, yeah I just noticed now that front facing nor wide angle is working, only the back camera.
If anyone figures out which configs work I'd be happy to know. Also, GCam automatically loads configs from "GCam/Configs7", right? In the past I remember having to choose a file.

By double-tapping on the front-rear camera button, I was able to achieve both a normal rear and slightly wide-angle camera shot. It appeared to be a restricted wide-angle shot showing a little more in the photo, but not a regular, wide-angle shot if that makes sense. It did offer me a choice of .xml files. It wouldn't recognize them from my configs folder. I had to create a configs7 folder and move them into it.
Anyway, here is the link for others that want to try it. Better than nothing I guess. Color has to be set to auto in advanced settings or pictures will come out purple.

Same here. No working front-facing camera on any of the Gcams after the UI 2.5 update. Also, lots of crashes. Forced to use the Scam a lot of the time uuggghhh. Hope there is a fix soon.
Found a fix yet?
