OxygenOS Open Beta 17 for the OnePlus 3

"Hello everyone,
This update gives you a few new features and more optimizations.
Release notes and descriptions for this Open Beta build:

Ambient display 2.0
Lift up display
Sharing functionality for Shot on OnePlus
All new OnePlus Font (Available in English, Chinese, and Japanese only)

Optimizations:
Enhanced launching speed of 3rd-party apps
Optimized management of foreground and background processes
Other changes:
Setup wizard adjusted to suit the style of Android 7.1
Refined contact import process from SIM card, now supports dual numbers and an email address
Automatically add corresponding country codes when making calls during roaming
Updated Android Security Patch level to 1st May 2017

Please note:
If you have already flashed an Open Beta (you are currently running the latest Open Beta) you will receive this new build as an OTA.
If you ARE NOT running open beta software and would like to, please refer to the flashing instructions and the full ROM found in the downloads page here: http://downloads.oneplus.net/
Once you migrate to the Beta path, you will continue to receive Open Beta OTAs. You will NO LONGER receive the regular Official Stable OTAs.
Moving back to the Official OTA path from the Beta path will require a full install and clean flash (FULL WIPE of all data and cache)

My OP3 won't update. It downloads it and fails. Never did that with any other OTA. I am unrooted, everything stock, stock recovery, etc...

My PC won't let me sideload it. Something with one of the drivers, won't let the PC see the OP3 in ADB mode, but I can access it just fine when the phone is booted. I spent a week fixing that last time and apparently something changed and I don't remember how I fixed it.

How's it treating everyone?

Ok, I got my PC to see the device in Recovery mode, the device pops up when I type "ADB Devices" but it cannot read the file when I use the sideload command. I redownloaded it, still can't install it.
UPDATE: Got it to install. I needed a newer version of ADB that can handle larger file sizes... Installing now.

Why is the file name showing OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_025_all_1705270102_2e4d850d2b924bf9?
is it Beta 16 or 17?? i need the beta 17 full google drive link. Can some 1 help me up?

Here are some fixes, a few optimizations, and a new feature. The Downloads page will be updated, and the OTA will roll out shortly.

Parallel apps:
All new parallel apps feature that lets you run a parallel version of the same app using a separate account. Right now this supports Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, and Instagram (and a few more popular apps)

Updated to Launcher V2.1.5 ：
Optimized home screen folder icon, with a preview look of first 4 icons in the folder
Redesigned UI for folders, allowing switch between folders by swiping left or right
Added double finger slide support, you can now slide the home screen with one finger while using another to hold an item

Supports light theme
Supports opening RAW format images
Updated File Manager to V1.7.1
Long pressing search items now shows edit operations

How to use parallel apps??

i have a problem, i've dirty flash from ob 19 and when install magisk 13.3 when reboot get black screen..

which file for root and twrp must flash ?

Gallery app seems a little buggy to me.
Anyone notice that?

[Notice]
If you want to revert back to the last Open Beta N build (OnePlus 3 Open beta 24 or OnePlus 3T Open Beta 15) you will need to flash the special build provided below. Because of the nature of downgrading from a major version, this will cause you to lose partial data.​
[Instructions and Info]
The build will wipe app and cache data, but Internal Storage will be saved (ie: pictures and files)
Users who revert their device back to the special build can still OTA update the device to Android O build at a later date.
Steps to revert:
Download special build
Copy to Internal storage
Reboot to recovery Mode to install
Choose “Install from Local”
Choose the downloaded build to install

That is good news. I was getting significantly worse battery life, especially on stand by, with OB 28.

For me "pached" zip (around 400 mb) give me error 7.
The full (1,6 gb) zip by SpaceInstrument works fine.
Magisk 15.0 works on ob29.

works fine on 15.1 here

I have dirty flash it on OB28, then TWRP blu_spark 8.61, reboot recovery and then flashed SuperSU 2.82. Phone won`t boot up, it`s stuck at Oneplus logo. I have managed to boot into recovery again, flash the image again, then blu_spark TWRP recovery and phone is booting fine. What SuperSU should I use then to obtain the root ?

My fault, I have used SuperSU 2.82 instead of 2.82 SR5. It`s fixed.

Hi ! I don't understand please I had unbrick my OP3 because to many mistake and update it to Oos 5.0.7 after I had flash on fastboot Twrp and on Twrp Magisk 17.1.
I had make a nandroid and want to use a custom kernel and before just want to dirty flash Oos 5.0.7 after flash on Twrp Oos 5.0.7 and flash Magisk 17.1 my OP3 comes brick with white led ??? I can't dirty flash officiel Oos 5.0.7 ?
I can reboot to twrp and restore my nandroid but can't dirty flash ? I don't understand why ? My OP3 are encrypted.

Yes, via everytime turning on the otg I can use earphone. I meant I want just plug and play. Turning on everytime otg is painful.

5.0.8 is now out. Company says that i's a hotfix. Changelog is same as 5.0.7

Seem like there is a hotfix out bumping the version to 5.0.8. Just installed it using VPN. Update was huge 1.5 gigs considering description in change log. Wonder what's cooking up in this update ( #pie)

I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but there is an OTG quick tile. Makes it a little quicker than navigating through the settings menu.
