Hey everyone,
Here are the latest open beta builds for the OnePlus 6 and 6T.
Changelog
Code:
[B]System:[/B]
• Now unlock the LockBox without any problems in File Manager
• No more crashes in the Launcher with apps in full-screen display
• Got rid of blank screens while clearing up the background apps
• Updated Android security patch to 2020.03
Note:
1. Please keep in mind that this is beta software. These builds are not as stable as our official OTAs. By installing this update, you accept the potential risks. As always, please share your feedback through https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/. For more information on submitting bugs or suggestions please refer to How to report a bug and feel free to share your product suggestions via the Community app (please assign the category as OnePlus 6/6T with Android 10).
Please note:
If you have already flashed an Open Beta (you are currently running the latest Open Beta), you will receive this new build as an OTA.
If you are not running open beta software and would like to, please refer to the flashing instructions and the full ROM on the downloads page.
Once you migrate to the beta path, you will continue to receive Open Beta OTAs. You will no longer receive the regular Official Stable OTAs.
Moving back to the Official OTA path from the Beta path will require a full install and clean flash (full wipe of all data and cache).
Make sure to let us know how you feel about the beta builds here in the thread too, we are watching.

If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash the full OxygenOS zip that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full zips in recovery.

Announcement & Disclaimer
While we are on the Beta Thread, I thought this goes without saying, but it looks like some users do not read the thread before they flash the builds. Thus i have added the disclaimer just to make them aware that reading the thread is necessary and i would appreciate if they also participate in the discussions rather than just doing an update and remain silent.
Currently the OTA is paused and thus i have removed the existing build mirrors. It is likely that we will get a new build in the coming days and till then, i would request users to stay on Beta 3 and those who have already updated, no need to panic, please stay on Beta 4. I will update the OP once the rollout begins again with the updated builds.
As i have always said Feedback whether good or bad is extremely important to Me and OnePlus, as it is only on the receipt of such information, OnePlus can assess and improve on the software experience, so please don't shy away from sharing your experience.
Needless to say but i have added the disclaimer on the OP. This is a Beta Thread and things can go bad sometimes. I always recommend to take backup before you proceed or flash a new build. If this is your primary device i would always recommend to stay on Stable builds instead of beta or you should have everything backed up and ready to loose all before you start.
What OnePlus has achieved today is mainly because of its active community and early supporters and OP would like to keep it that way and maintain its focus on the community while building the software to enhance the user experience.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support.

Bug Reports Beta 3 :fingers-crossed:
Code:
Reported Issues on Beta 3 by the Testers:
* Private DNS doesn't work
* More to be added as reported by the community, Please Tag @Funk Wizard while posting the bug reports, Thanks
Guys as this is first build, although dirty flash will work but i recommend a clean flash to begin with and use stock system upgrade to do so. Also battery life on this build will not be as good as the stable one so keep that in mind while flashing the build.
I have kept a post reserved and will update the known issues as we test.
Please Tag me @Funk Wizard for whatever issues are faced on the beta so that we can report it to the team directly.
Thanks again for your support.

Thanks Funk!!

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.
*

You tell...
FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Information about Xposed, EdXposed or Riru Core can be obtained from the XPosed General forums .
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behaviour on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Q. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
NOTE:
WE ARE ENCRYPTED (FILE BASED FORCED ENCRYPTION). So if you are unencrypted format data partition or use any no_verity solution you want. We don't support it.
Files to download before starting:
* Download stable OxygenOS full zip 10.3.2 from here.
(XDA thread for reference)
* Download TWRP image & zip Installer from Mauronofrio
* Download AICP ROM (Link)
* Download latest OpenGapps nano or micro package for ARM64 & Android 10.0 from here
Setting the phone into a "clean" device state and/or flash AICP for the first time:
(e.g. coming from another custom ROM)
1. Connect the phone to a PC.
2. Reboot to bootloader and boot your device into recovery mode:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-18-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img
.
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data.
4. Flash the latest OxygenOS zip & Flash TWRP Installer zip.
5. Reboot to Recovery.
6. Flash OxygenOS zip again (to make sure it is on both slots) & TWRP Installer zip.
7. Reboot to Recovery again.
8. Flash the AICP ROM zip. You don't need to flash twrp zip anymore since we build it with rom.
9. Reboot to Recovery once again.
10. Flash OpenGApps (nano recommended) package and latest Magisk if you want to get rooted.
11. Reboot.
Installing ROM Updates ("dirty flashing") MANUALLY
1. Reboot to Recovery.
2. Flash Substratum rescue zip if you have a theme applied or uninstall the theme completely.
3. Flash the AICP ROM zip. You don't need to flash twrp zip anymore since we build it with rom.
4. Reboot to Recovery.
5. Flash OpenGApps package.
6. Flash Magisk zip, if you want to be rooted.
7. Reboot.
We recommend to use integrated Updater via AicpExtras to update system since it will maintain gapps and magisk. Note that update process is slow and it will be faster if you maintain the device awake.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk version >= 20.3 recommended.

Yes, no screenshots. LOL.
IMPORTANT.
Before start to flash it:
* Download 5.1.11 Firmware OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118_770880.zip and move to your internal SDCard.
* Download TWRP: twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
* Download TWRP installer zip: twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.3-0.zip and move that to your internal SD card.
* Download AICP Weekly and copy to your internal SD card.
* Download latest OpenGapps nano package for arm64 and copy to your internal SD card.
1. Go to bootloader mode and boot your device into recovery mode: (use the lastest official TWRP)
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
Click to collapse
2. wipe system, data and caches
3. flash OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118_770880.zip + TWRP installer zip in a row.
4. reboot to recovery
5. flash OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118_770880.zip again.
This way, we are sure that we have same firmware on both A&B slot's.
6. Boot into system
Now, we are ready to flash AICP
a. Go to recovery again. ( TWRP was flashed already...)
b. Wipe system, data and caches
c. Flash AICP.zip + TWRP installer
d. Reboot to recovery
e. Flash GAPPS + Magisk 17.1 (optiional)
f. Reboot to system.
On dirty flash:
** Repeat steps between a-f.
You have to flash TWRP installer after every ROM.zip update then boot into other slot and flash GAPPS + Magisk (optional)
** NO NEED TO CLEAN DALVİK/CACHES
** NEVER switch slots manually from recovery.
Enjoy !!!
Installed it and now testing  good work for the amazing ROM

Sorry, only for my interest. To use nano package instead of pico is only for the face-unlock thing or also for the account login problems I sometimes could read in other threads or of other reason, perhaps you can tell me please.
After setup AICP, can I uninstall e.g. google search and Device Health Services and face detection/unlock stuff ? Thanks in advance.

You can allways try with pico package... Try and report please
@csolanol or @semdoc , what is the reason to have the os on both slots ?
Also nessesary if I am coming from Stock-OOS 5.1.11 with July Security, just rooted and TWRP ?
The one we should flash is the rollback version which you have to flash if you
come from a higher security patch or better if you come from Android 9 to 8, but it don't format data ? So this ROM has July or August patch ?
Sorry when asking again, makes me all a lit bit confused, on other 8.1 custom roms we don't have to do so. Then I can flash and tell about pico package.

You have to. For example you flash ob2 it flashes to one slot. Not both. So you flash the ob2 then boot to twrp technically your now on ob2. So you flash a rom again that's on pie that will flash it to the 8.1 slot because your already on the pie slot. So if you keep both slots either pie or Oreo you won't have any problems with different firmware and can flash your life away and if your going from just to September which is what I'm assuming this is then you will probably not have to format data. But if you flash back to July you will. Or any other security patch before September.
@joemossjr , that's a really comprehensive answer, more than one thanks worthy.

Actually flashing procedure is same for ALL ROM's...
Trivial Part: You have to flash same stock ROM on both A&B slots... Latest Oreo firmware If you are planning to flash any oreo based custom ROM, or latest OB If you are going to flash pie based custom ROM, respectively... Or you will loose yourself in endless bootloops....
After that... As you may noticed, the flashing row in TWRP is same...
FYI.

Thank you for your work. Could you sum up what features do we get from this?
Also, do you think eventually you'll make a simple to flash in twrp to make it easier to install?

New AOD, Live Wallpapers, New Dialer, New Messages App, some of the stuff that You can see in screenshots (OnePlus Laboratory etc). One more year of firmware updates (6T was launched with Pie).
And all features that OP6T will get in future updates that OP6 might not get.
And if You want, You can install it with TWRP. Just use flash image instead of flash zip. And then flash system.img to system, boot.img to boot and OP6T Vendor Patcher and that's it!
Edit: here's a video https://youtu.be/7pxkqAYylWE. You can skip flashing op6t vendor patcher and vbmeta. Those steps are most likely optional because it's OxygenOS.
Thanks developer .You are unique and thanks for trying new stuffs on OP6 . Waiting for MIUI 10 stable plzzzz work on it .
People don't flash this it's not working!!!
Can confirm the same. Wiped data through TWRP, but it said No OS installed. Also tried through fastboot, but it gave back an "Invalid size/header" error.

I am on oos 9.02 i have downloaded the port. Then i flash TWRP to check the current slot. After that i flash system img using fastboot command .After flashing system img Phone become unresponsive so i again booted to boot-loader and flash vbmeta.img and boot.img then i again flash twrp and flash vendor patch .After reboot either phone goes to crashdump or stay on bootloader unlock warning screen??? any suggestiom
I have seen that its quite hard to install this ROM, the same kind of issues was also in pixel 3xl port, can't we get some simplified installation method just like other custom roms????
Will this erase all data in memory?

ya bro i have flashed more than five times. My wholeday wasted on this rom
some experience from myself.
1: Back up your application and data through Ti Backup
2: download the stock fast boot ROM of OOS
3: boot into bootloader and flash the stock OOS
4: when you done it, just get your ass back in the bootloader and flash the 6t's system IMG into SLOT A!
and the last thing just following the instructions.
One little problem is the system interface does not occupy the entire screen

Mi Account Fix 2: Tap to sign in with Google Account, then tap log in with another account, then log in and Done! Enjoy!
What works:
Almost everything, check bugs!
Brightness works great too!
What doesn't work / Bugs:
NFC (system doesn't support it)
Dash Charge charging indicator isn't showing up but phone charges fast anyway.
How to Install:
Make sure You're on latest Open Beta Q or H2OS Beta Q firmware!
Note: Backup Your nudes before flashing the rom! It will wipe Your internal storage.
As of 20.2.27 Build, EPR is no longer needed so just simply run force wipe flasher/dirty flasher (if previous build) and enjoy!
Use EPR before flashing this ROM! After that flash latest Open Beta Q twice,
and remember which slot You have resized!
New detailed Guide by @umangtayal
1. Reboot to TWRP blu_spark 3.3.1-x (v9.101).
2. Flash latest Open Beta Q for OP6 and twrp, and reboot to recovery
3. Again flash latest Open Beta Q and twrp and reboot to recovery (this will flash dp3 to both slots).
4. After latest Open Beta Q flashing is done, make sure you are in slot A of twrp (if you are in slot B, simply go to reboot and at the bottom select slot A).
5. Now in twrp(slot A), run epr on slot A.
6. After epr is done, your device will boot into fastboot.
7. Now run the MIUI flasher while in fastboot. This will flash MIUI to slot A (in slot B it will show "volume full" error, which is perfectly normal)
8. After flashing is done, you can reboot to recovery and flash magisk or simply reboot to system.
There is a seperate thread on EPR( enchilada partition resizer). if you dont know how to use epr, simply google it and you'll find the xda thread.
If You want to update, or You don't want to format Your data use "flasher_no_format_data".
Check screenshots in attached images!

Try this:
Flash OOS 9.0.7 twice in TWRP(flash, reboot twrp, flash again). So that both A and B partitions will have 9.0.7
And then run the flasher with cmd or terminal. If You're on Windows. Just double tap on flasher and it will start flashing.
It's important to flash this rom with fastboot included in the zip.
So just run the flasher and not every command separately.
Before I made the flasher, lots of OP6 users couldn't boot it either.

I think it might be related to DRM because in some places like Soundcloud and when You select a ringtone, it sounds fine.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled ROMs, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best ROM we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
What is PAX?
Our release of Android 10, titled CR-8.0, is codenamed PAX after the Latin word for peace and Pax, the roman goddess for peace.
PAX provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. PAX delivers a set of unique features, like a system-wide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Install Instructions:
Other than previously provided ROMs, this is using the "normal" method of providing a flashable zip.
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.
You must at least use TWRP 3.4.0-1 by @mauronofrio to flash this.
Download the ROM and optionally GApps, reboot to TWRP.
Flash the ROM
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps (optional)
Format /data*
Done
*As TWRP is currently unable to format /data you can use fastboot to format
Code:
fastboot -w
It appears that fastboot on Windows has issues with the wipe command. In that case use both of the following commands
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase metadata

Perks of flashing ROMs at 5AM, FIRST!!
Wow! Another rom awesome job!
let the ROMs start yeahhh
More roms!!! Yaaas
If coming by from another rom, do I just format data first and then flash Carbon or should I reflash OOS on both slots again?
@Myself5, you say to reboot twrp in between for flashing gapps to another partition. Do I read it right? Or do we need to flash the rom again to another partition after rebooting twrp

great work!
We dont need to format user data if you are on OOS do you?
Please do look into adding more space for GAPPs as I prefer to use mini
does oneplus 8 work?
so for me this doesnt work and i dunno what i am doing wrong.
flashed oos to both slots, flashed your twrp, flashed rom, reboot to recovery and device doesnt decrypt so no gapps to install. booting up ends in sticking at carbon boot logo.
Hey ! Do you add face unlock ??
I updated the flashing instruction in OP to reflect on various ways to format /data as TWRP is currently not able to do so.
You can either use fastboot to format
fastboot -w

or if that fails (which has been reported of being an issue with fastboot on Windows) flash THIS userdata.img using

EDIT: As of TWRP 3.4.0-1 by @mauronofrio you can flash Carbon with that just fine.
I discovered Bluetooth is broken in yesterdays build. This has been fixed in CARBON-CR-8.0-PAX-UNOFFICIAL-instantnoodlep-20200627-1418 which has just been uploaded.
Note: During the tests today I noticed that GApps seems to be finniky when updating. When I flashed Gapps I sometimes ended up in a bootloop because some parts of GApps were missing despite them flashing successfully in TWRP. Force rebooting and flashing them again fixed that. It is yet to be determined if this is a ROM or a TWRP issue but I am working with @mauronofrio on fixing the issue.

Nice! Downloading now.
Very nice, thank you!
Running very smoothly and efficiently. Kudos! Are there plans to get this bumped to official at all? Also, does this support ElementalX?

It will get official soon, probably in next week, I'm not sure about ElementalX support, but it should work fine.
Im curious, what needed to be changed/tweaked to make this build for the Pixel 3a XL? Did you grab the latest source for dotos and patch a few files that needed fixing, or some other method?
Either way, thanks for the submission - it's pretty smooth!

Pixel 3a and 3aXL are unified almost. So you just need few different files device side, device vendor, kernel is unified across 3,3xl,3a,3aXL
There are no major changes needed from 3a to 3aXL. Also as when it goes official, you will be able to see device sources used to make this rom and with ota support.
awesome thank you for the reply!
Update 16/06/21
We go official.
1.Make sure you clean flash if you're coming from unofficial build
2.June security patch included
3.Auto brightness on initial boot
4.few other minimal changes
5. added stock google camera
Note:- Boot.img added in separate link
The official build kept failing to flash with ErrorCode kPayloadTimestampError
Yes, I followed clean flash steps.
Update on GAPPS: It seems the GAPPS version of the ROM fails to fully transfer, stopping at 49% and reports total xfer of 1 while normally it should report 2. Will update again once I figure out if this partial transfer is simply a bug of the ROM file and is being reported incorrectly via terminal or if it's actually broken.
Update 2: The ROM did, from appearances, successfully flash, with everything seemingly working as it should be.
Both ROMs do seem to have issues with how their flashing is being handled however, and should be corrected ASAP.

Thank you for looking into the matter, I know the issue for vanilla version
For now gapps version is good, yeah it will show error when rom gets flashed, though it gets sideloaded successfully. Gapps version is recommended for now.
On a support call with my mobile provider and they asked me to reset network and Bluetooth settings. Get to the screen where the internet says should be a reset settings button and it's not there.

Pull up the bold text, the heading "Reset WiFi, mobile and Bluetooth" and you will see option below, also uncheck "Erase downloaded sim" if you're using eSIM, otherwise it will delete it and you will have to do the whole process all over again.
