From the official announcement :
Version number notes: For a while we’ve been using a 4 digit version number and reserved the 4th digit for device-specific updates. For instance, we find and fix a device-specific issue like decryption of data on Nexus 5, we would release that as a 2.8.7.1. After a while, some people would start asking where 2.8.7.1 was for other devices. So, going forward we have decided to change the numbering scheme to 3.0.0-2, etc. Our hope is that this version numbering scheme will more clearly identify that the 4th digit does not indicate a version change for the code base.

Red Wolf Recovery is custom recovery based on TWRP source code however some things are working here slightly different then you might expected. The main objective of this project is to provide stable recovery with features which you have never seen before in a recovery and which have not been accepted for adding to the official source code of TWRP. This recovery is also first recovery on the world with password protection.
Based on TWRP version: 3.2.1
For device: Rolex
Authors build: MacTavishAO(ataberkozen)

I tested this out but went back to standard TWRP for now. My main issue is No System Image choice to back up. Just System. I know that recently restoring a backup required using System Image and NOT system.
Thoughts from all here reading this.

I can't remember when this became an issue, but if you could include system image as one of the choices, would appreciate it. Maybe others could chime in on this exact issue. Thanks.....also, I noticed earlier Magisk 20.3 referenced instead of current 20.4.
Thank you was waiting fior a long time and i really like it
Thank you for your support!
Hi great to see another recovery
If it is based on twrp could you please add support for backing up system image?
Thank you!

Great recovery!! Thank you!
---------- Post added at 04:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:50 PM ----------
Btw, doesn't this recovery support adopted storage? I cannot seem to access files from internal storage properly, while TWRP did show them. Also MTP doesn't work. My computer doesn't even recognize the device when plugged in.
Is an update from TWRP 3.4.0 planned?

TWRP is an open source, community project. A custom recovery is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom “ROM” like LineageOS or OmniROM.

J530fn installed, runs, so far no problems
Decryption works?
Nope,
Works fine in principal, but could't mount vendor-partition on my SM-J530F.
Does someone have a solution?
So ... I have now tested the TWRP intensively.
WORKS PERFECTLY!
MANY THANKS neel0210 !!!
Only the error message with the vendor partition bothers me.
I thought we had a vendor partition on our device?
Anyway ... dear neel0210, if in doubt, you can't turn off the attempt to mount the vendor partition?
Broken link
Here it is!

Introduction:
Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch-driven user interface, with no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML-driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Key Features:
Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
Onscreen keyboard
Easy selection of internal/external storage
In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe, and run a backup.
We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open-source project.

Heyyo, a new test build of TWRP is going up! twrp-3.6.0-11-zippo-test14-UNOFFICIAL contains the upgrade to the Android 11 branch of TWRP and updated decryption blobs to ZUI 12.5.365 and the kernel to the rebased LA.UM.9.3 kernel from LineageOS official builds.
It decrypts Android 11 ROMs no problems but I need someone to please test it on Android 12 ROMs.
