Good morning people,
Hope you are well!
I updated my Mi A2 via OTA to PIE, it was in Bootloop, I got MiFlash back to OREO (V9.6.16.0), and I tried to install PIE, now for Fastboot MiFlash , but my cell phone was again in Bootloop.
Does anybody know how to solve this?
Or what happened to someone else?
Thanks for the help!
Claim warranty by far the most easy solution.
And yeah more people have this isseu.
had same problem... twice but solved very easy
just boot to recovery boot (volume down ad power)... connect power and left 10-15 minutes...
dont disconnect phone from power and press and hold power until reboot, release power button and voila, phone normally boot!!!!
i notice if you not wait long enough in recovery boot, phone remain in bootloop... just be patient and maybe helps... works for me twice...

But when I do this, it goes into Fastboot mode (power and volume minus).
Are you talking about going into recovery mode?

just enter in fastboot mode and do nothing... only connect to power charger
is weird because i had two times this problem.. once after android 9 upgrade week ago, and second time today after factory reset
every times i cant do anything to work... this with power charger was stupid idea but is worked.... just connect charger in fastboot mode, wait 10-15 minutes and restart phone with power button... both times this worked for me...
i remember few years ago similar problem with Nokia/MS windows phones batteries and similar steps helped...
After instal january update and restart, on the phone see Android One logo and nothing is happening. After 5 minutes it switches off.
I'll get to the bootloader, but I can not unlock the bootloader (neither unlock critical). Is anyone able to help?
Use official xiaomi "MI FLASH TOOL" on Windows and flash with full stock image named "fastboot rom"
(Download image here: https://xiaomifirmware.com/roms/latest-android-roms-for-xiaomi-mi-a2/)
(You have to extract on Windows this tar.gz and tar also, and then flash with Xiaomi tool)
If you need help with this tool, read this "mi flash tool" tutorial:

Hi Everyone;
I unlocked my phone for flashing custom rom. After unlocking i reebooted it and was normal. Then i flashed cwm via htc one toolkit. It was successfull as well. Then i go to cwm and made factory reset + wipe cache + dalvik cache. Then i go to install zip from sd card but i could not find my rom file. Thought, it was deleted while unlocking device. Then decided to reboot phone again to copy rom file into the phone and reboot.
But, when i rebooted phone from cwm, it stuck on HTC Logo( Quietly Brilliant screen). Waited sometime, but nothing happened. Then i tried to power off it and boot into bootloader or recovery. I press and hold power button but it does not respond anyhow. When i am holding power button ,back and home buttons are blinking but nothing happens. Almost five minutes i waited as holding down power button but phone does not power off anyhow. i tried all methods like vol down + power, vol up + power and both volume keys + power. But really nothing happens, just blinking back and home buttons. That's all.
I can not simply power off device. :crying:
I also tried boot device via fastboot commands but it says "waiting for device" means computer does not recognize device.
Guys, i need an urgent help. Please...
just keep trying to reboot via holding power or power+vol down. if it doesnt reboot after 30 sec or so let go then try again. if that doesnt work you will have to wait for the battery to die. once you get to bootloader use all in one toolkit to erace cache. then boot to recovery and you rom should be there if not boot back to bootloader and sideload rom

First thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunatelly, power+vol down does not work at all. Maybe i tried 50 times.
Anyhow, after battery die. How can i boot into bootloader. I mean, can phone be charged again in this situation? Also, even if i manage to boot into bootloader or recovery how can i put custom rom file into phone. Actually, i did not use sideload or whatever you mentioned before.
I am serouisly confused now and don't know what to do.
Anyhow, as you said, firlst i need wait to battery die i think. Then i will report back whats happen.
Thank you again btw.

yes your not the first person with this problem. hold power+vol down to get into bootloader. press power button in bootloader to get in fast boot mode. use all in one toolkit to erase cache and side load rom. i recommend all in one toolkit because it automates the process. just select the option then follow on screen steps
Good to hear that i am not the first person That means somehow there is a solution i beleive. Still waiting for battery die. even i had 50 percent battery at the begining but still it holds on I never say again htc battery is bad
I exeprienced that stucking on boot logo several times before with my other htc phones but holding power + vol down/up worked always. This is the first time for me that i faced with power button can not power off device.. Well, ,i hope i wish i can handle out this problem. Definetley with your help.
Regards,
I am having the same problem and don't know what to do :crying:
Today I just got my One. Unlocked bootloader, rooted, flashed Android Revolution rom. Everything worked fine for a while... I wanted to reinstall the rom because I wanted to change some options in the installer - I did not wipe because it was the same rom (big mistake I guess!!). After making the installation option changes, when it was done it proceeded to reboot but now I am stuck in a white HTC logo boot loop hell... (with the red text at the bottom that says "this build is for development purposes only" etc). Holy crap I never had a phone that I could not remove the battery. I cannot get this back into recovery or ANYTHING, it just keeps looping... computer recognizes it, no problem with drivers or anything it just doesn't stay connected long enough (because of the constant looping) to be able to use the toolkit.
PLEASE any advice?? Can't even shut it down omg. Do I have a $600 brick here? :crying::crying:

Did you read the other posts in this thread? The way you do a "battery pull" on this phone is to HOLD the PWR + VOL DOWN button for ~15seconds. Your capactivie buttons will blink, too. On my device, it took exactly 15seconds to reboot. There have been some reports of some phones that get so stuck that you just have to wait until the battery dies and charge it back up.
Alternatively, if the computer is recongizing it, try to adb reboot recovery to try and get into the recovery.

hi again. this morning my battery finally out. Then i put my phone to the charger and started it in fastboot mode( that is a good new) Then i left it for 20-30 minutes to charge a little bit for flashing custom rom. Then i went to recovery and started adb sideload. Sideload was succesful and finally came to aroma installer of trickdroid. I chose my installation options and started to flash rom but process was frozen on 10 percent. It was saying unmount system, unmount cahce and both of them has notification as "already unmounted". But installation was not going on. Then again i tried to go back fasboot mode again by press and holding power+vol down but unfortunatelly lights are blinking but nothing happens again. I think i need to wait to battery die again.
Isn't it quite weird? Why power+vol down combination does not work for me anytime? So, do i need to wait for battery die in every frozen? Do you have any ideas or comments ?
Do i need to go back to stock first ?
EDIT : Battery was out again and i tried once more. This time installation (trick droid) was successful but it frozen at the end this time. And unfortunatelly i can not restart (power+vol down) it again again Holy crap, i am really pissed off with this problem.
O..K...Finally, i managed to start my phone and now it works... Especially thank you skinsfanbdh for your support.
But still i don't know how to solve button configuration problem. But anyhow i think i won't need quite sometim to use it I hope someone can find a solution for that later.
Guide me with steps please

Hello, my young brother just bootlooped his new phone, he tried to root the device.
He was following this tutorial - https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-t3405701
Unlocking bootloader went fine, then installing TWRP went (probably) fine, then the phone needed another factory reset. And since that moment, there is just "Your device has been unlocked..." and we can't do anything. Going to recovery is impossible. The battery is above 50% so waiting for it to go down on its own will take over a week.
We have a backup made with HiSuite.
I'm not really into huawei, so I've not a single clue what to do. Please, help us guys. Thanks in advance.

I'm not any good at such things, really. I don't want to brick the phone, that's why i'm asking you for help. And your help didn't enlight anything, really. So sorry for my ignorance, but I would be greatful if you could explain it in easier way. Thanks in advance.
Just HOLD Volume Down & Power Button Together . Realese Power Button & HOLD Volume Down button when Huawei Logo Appear than You reboot to TWRP(If Install)
Just cheack TWRP installed or not
It's not installed. I have no idea how to boot into system, it just loops. I can't even enter fastboot mode.

Turn of your phone than HOLD Volume Down button than connect to usb than yout phone reboot into fastboot
That's what I try to do. Fastboot doesn't load when i hold volume down + power. I can't turn the device off because it just continously starts over and over again. The phone starts normally when battery goes down completely, system loads but then phone goes off due to lack of battery.

I can't enter fastboot, it doesn't start. It just restarts and i see the screen "phone has been unlocked and can't be trusted, phone is booting..." something like that.
you cant enter fastboot, if you have not... do you even know, what you need to do, to enter fastboot? there is more than two thing to do, so, does you realy know what need to do ? call all thngs you need to do, to enter fastboot please.
got similar problems, because i instaled wrong custom recovery.
there are 2 sugestions, got in fastboot, im sure, its working if do it properly and instal proper recovery, for your model. second, use dc phoenis here
ps. why this post are in p9 not p9 lite forum?!
Well, I plug the device to PC using usb cable and when it's bootlooping I hold volume down and power button. That's how i was entering fastboot before. Now it doesn't work.
I've got stock recovery.
hold power button ~30 sec, force restart. even then nothing? well, if fastboot not working, then its gone. Ofcorse, there need to be a way, how you put on board files to work software, but im sure, thease things have only huawei.
The phone is just bootlooping, nothing else. If the battery goes down and i plug it to its charger I'm able to boot normally into the system. But once i try to turn it off it bootloops again.

I will tell you how to Unbrick. Don't worry i will want money from you
I can't turn it off. It automatically turns itself on and catches bootloop. I just wrote that fastboot doesn't load at all
Hello, it's my first question on XDA but I really like this community. So for my problem : after bug in lineage os I wanted returned on the official ROM but after flashing (with my flash tool) the phone doesn't want turn on, the screen stay black no vibrate no LED. On my computer the phone was sometime detected as a MTP devices. So i turn the phone on the fastboot to flash but went he is on fastboot the screen doesn't wake up but on the computer the phone is on fastboot and I can flash. After I tested the recovery so I flash TWRP and boot on this but the screen doesn't wake up but with ADB tool I see my phone and I can move in the phone with "adb shell". I tested all the thing I know to unbrick my phone so I answer you. I really thank you if you can help me.
PS: I don't speak very well English so I really sorry for all the mistake
Absolutely identical situation here, but for me the phone just died by itself at night. Reflashing stuff with EDL / Fastboot does not help at all.
With some combination of boot AND recovery it is visible as adb + mtp device, with some does not.
Should be noted that fastboot boot recovery.img does not boot recovery and loops, but holding up button while inserting usb cable does.
@Celeste.cote
@skydev
Usually you should try removing and reinserting the battery, but the Mi5's battery is not removable, as you know.
So what you wanna do is to force this behaviour by pressing the power + vol up + vol down buttons all together for about 1 minute (be serious about this - also try like 2 minutes if it doesn't work quicker!).
You'll notice that it has been working by seeing the Mi logo.
Solved the black screen of death error for me once.
How about you?
@Phil_Smith, thanks for the advice, well, it seems that the problem we have is a little different.
I have that behaviour (black screen + adb + mtp) sometimes only when trying to boot recovery, but when trying normal boot i get bootloader bootloop with "Mi logo unlocked".
I think i should make a thread for my own problem.
P.S. I think the power supervisor should shutdown (restart) phone if power button is being held for 10 seconds, except if in EDL mode!
I can also recommend doing poweroff from adb shell and removing USB cable immediately afterwards - it should power off the phone.
@Phil_Smith y really thanks you for your answer but that don't running on my phone... I think it's the motherboard who is broken because I have no vibrate no led and no screen. I give up for this phone... Thank you and @skydev I hope you find a solution
Hi all, this is sadly my first thread in xda, sadly because two things: for being a help-ask thread and because the reason im posting it:
So i decided to flash the new ASIG firmware to my S10, and I don't know what went wrong because odin flashed all right. when i rebooted my device did the key combo to get into recovery mode but it didn't work. Can't pass from the first boot screen because it keeps rebooting
some info to feed your sugestions:
-i was rooted and running a custom rom (August securitypatch on BeyondRom)
-patched AP file in magisk
-ianmacd TWRP
I have tried to get it into download mode, recovery mode, normal OS, magisk boot.... nothing works it keeps rebooting. I remember the battery was like 60~70 % and have been like 7 hours and keeps rebooting.
Also i have tried to get it to boot in download mode waiting till screen goes black pressing voldown and bixby and catching the right moment to plug the cable in it and stops rebooting but doesn't boot either. If i press power button starts again rebooting and the same happen if i disconnect-reconnect or free-press any of the button combo even for one second...
so i have been tweaking my devices like 3 years and this is the first time i think i screwed up one, i always tought it was not possible (hope don't) but this time i think i made it
Do I? there is no fix?
i'm waiting to the phone gets fully discharged to see if powered off can i get it to boot into download mode and fla**** again
is there another way to get it to go into download mode? like old phones with the usb jig
it is a way to turn it off??
do you know what could be the reason to get in this state?
sorry for too much questions but i had a s7 edge before and i messed with it a lot, one day deactivated oem unlock, flashed wrong custom roms and broke it (software way) a lot of times and i always was able to get into download mode and fix it but this time i can't get it to work
so please help me and thanks for read and try to help (if anybody) lol r.r :crying::crying::crying:
FIXED
i'm happy to have been right, its hard to hard brick a device hehehe just after some minutes after (panic atack) post battery went out of energy pressed key combo comected cable to pc and booted un DM im sorprised because did not lost a byte of data
When the S9-S10 Starts bootlooping and won't go to DWNLD mode or Recovery, Just hold Power + Vol DWN + BIX for 5 seconds, release, repeat for ten seconds, release, Repeat,
After that the "upload mode" should appear. and you can just hold Power+Volume Down until the phone reboots. This time the keys will finally boot you into the desired mode...
So, I recently updated magisk on my phone and as usual to update my phone restarts, but this time it didn't boot up.
I think its in bootloop because when i connect it to my pc with a usb cable it goes on and off also, i cannot access to TWRP.
Can you get to bootloader (fastboot)?
If so you can restore a stock boot image and start over, or try to boot to TWRP with fastboot boot twrp.img and restore the boot image from there and then flash the installer (rename the .apk to .zip as per the new v22+ installation instructions).
I am unable to go into the bootloader or maybe im just doing it the wrong way do you mind guiding me? :/
or maybe i don't have the drivers..
my phone just connects and disconnects, so im not so sure i can go into the bootloader and launch a comand.
Can you shutdown your phone?
i don't think, because it's always turning on and off because the usb sound is going off and on in my pc so i dont really know
You need to use a button combo to get to bootloader or recovery (since you can't boot to Android). A quick web search gives this:

Exactly like what happen to my device as well
Nope, it does not let me go into the bootloader. Not even with the button combo.
Do you have twrp installed on your phone by any chance? Also a stock boot.img?
First you need to calm down I know how frustrating seeing your device on bootloop and can't even shutdown it ...
i do not have twrp, but i can download a stock boot.img
would you like me to guide you how to fix it i don't have anything to do?
Yes, thank you.
Your device is going on bootloop right now and keep vibrating right?
it's not vibrating. but it probably is in bootloop
lol mine is vibrating while on bootloop okay enough chitchat let's start
vibration is actually good indication for the next process
prepare ADB and USB cable
Now press Power Button and VOL UP at the same time wait for vibration let go Power Button keep holding VOL up for at least 3secs then let go
it's still not vibrating
now press VOL DOWN there's 3 out of 1 chance that you actually made it to fastboot mode ...
