Order of what im doing
Flash stock from rom thread.
Flash No verity image (OPS27.82-72_no-verity_boot.img)
quickly setup, then factory reset
Flash gsi.
Watch phone fail to boot. Repeat.
Other Info:
I tried flashing Carbon ( From here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...evice-development/rom-carbonrom-noct-t3821947) the A only one thats a little lower down.
It gets to showing android( Boot anim) then drops into twrp after showing android a while.
So Android 8 based gsi's work Better
Please just ask if their is anything I forgot( Probably a lot)
Well thats all I can think of.
sorry for garbage formating.
Carbon, Octopus, and AOSP Extended are broken. Try v105 AOSP9 by phone, five dot one, or latest official Resurrection Remix Oreo. V108 AOSP9 works with soak Pie only

Hi guys, I have an SM-N960F dual sim exynos Note 9 and i have recently discovered this whole other element of ROM flashing known as project treble ROMs. I tried to flash a few different ones and i could only get one to work and the rest all just either bootlooped or stayed on the initial splashscreen. I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on them a bit for me and perhaps knew exactly the best way to flash them, and what firmware is best to start on beforehand etc? I found the whole thing EXTREMELY confusing especially with venfor images and kernel images etc...
Thank you for any input/help!
We can't really use the term Project Treble when talking about Samsung phones. Technically it is implemented, but Samsung being Samsung, it's quite a non-standard implementation and not really compatible with anything else.

Ive flashed a few of them onto my phone but it seems to be a bit of hit and miss as to whether they boot up or not. The ones that do have been good in terms of the size and speed etc, I even flashed a generic copy of OneUI which worked well.
I am on Pie base using the Dr.Ketan rom, so I tried a few GSIs which are supposed to be compatible with Pie base. I took them from here.
The way I flash them is:
1. Factory reset from TWRP
2. Flash the GSI as system image
3. Flash stock kernel otherwise you will be stuck on boot logo or you will get into bootloop. To flash the stock kernel I just use Dr.Ketan's rom, because the UI upon flashing allows you to choose and flash stock kernel and skip everything else.
(They mention that we should flash Permissiver also, but it gives error so I can't flash it)
So those GSIs boot up, but they are barely usable. The "System is finishing update" and "System setup will start soon" are stuck for me and never finish. Also for example in the PixelExperience9 from this collection I was not even able to add my Google account because of the system auto-closing almost all system apps that I try to open.
It might be that these things should be done in a different way, but this is my experience for now. So..... back to Dr.Ketan ROM. I was really hoping to get the MIUI GSI as daily, but it seems impossible to me.
EDIT: Lol I realised we are the same people talking on the other thread also, so you gave me the link to the treble collection.
(Discussion, Trial and error)this was experimental project for me ( lazily browsing around and found this and tried it), as the title states i was able to get AOSP ANDROID 10 from openkirin from https://openkirin.net/download/, it says only bla l09,l29 and al00 but i no longer use this phone daily so gave a shot even though devs there warn about proceeding further, i downloaded aosp preview 10 #2 full (about 1.2gb approx) and unzipped it to get the image file, i am currently running 9.0.0.277 emui and i already have BL unlocked and flashed system in fastboot and then rebooted phone to recovery mode and factory reset and cache reset( this is a must as phone will not boot and stay at shining android boot screen) and then reboot to system and all is well, rom does not have any gapps and is very basic and u have to install all gapps from playstore ( apparently this rom has no support for volte and i dont have a sim in this phone and didnt have for over a year so your mileage might vary), i am currently using pixel 3xl for daily use and when i compare features between the rom's few of the features are missing but everything present works fine, try at your own risk and i am not responsible if your phone bricks and catches fire or explodes, you have been warned, links for screenshots below.

Hi everyone,
I got a Note 4 910F. The problem here is every time when i flash a stock rom from odin the phone gets into bootloop. Every 20 sec. the phone shows the samsung logo, vibrates and starts again.
But when i flash a custom rom from linage or other programmer it boots like a charme.
Did anyone got the same issue? Is there something that i can do?
thanks, br christoph
i have similar problem. root twrp custom roms load.
stock rom reboot goes to samsung logo black screen, pulling battery and reloading custom rom via twrp still works.
The note 4 with removable battery stylus infra red is the nicest fone i have, i loaded twrpo and custom roms to be able to run apps like sonos which wont run on android 6, and hopefully to be able to use volte.
every custom rom has little issues, all are horrifically slow to start up. Ive tried res remix and google pixle. Google pixle has a very simple camera, no voice activation, crashes all the time.
PLeeease.. anyone with a note 4 qualcom samsung 910f....
1... How do I get my stock rom twrp backup to work
2. where can I get a copy of the stock samsung marsmallow 6.01 ..samsung wont give it to me
3. Is there a stable fast custom rom for 910f with no problems based on oreo or pie or q hopefully with a working good camera, good gesture navigion for screenshot, maybe even volte working???
really appreciate answers to abvove.

For stock firmware try SamMobile or Fajia firmware downloader.

after flashing stock rom go to recovery and do a factory reset
Does anyone have any ideas on how to flash a GSI to the Dynamic Super Partition? I've been trying for a month to flash DotOS and nothing. I can get it to flash using "fastboot flash super" but flashing to system it fails. Still doesn't boot regardless, even if I flash vbmeta and stock boot. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

When I was testing out GSI I used this method:
I would just change the rom name in .bat(?) File. Everything flashed and booted fine. The only issue I had with GSI roms & AT&T was that I couldn't get mobile service.
Better to stick with one of the many custom roms made for Pixel 4/XL. I mean I'd rather use something made for my device than something universal. Cool to try out new things though I get it. DotOS is not too much different than anything else.. DotOS has a different look, a different theme/ui.. I'm referring to DotOS Android 11. I used DOT on my OnePlus 6t, before I got my Pixel 4XL. I'll see what I can find about what you are talking about here and if and when I do find some good reads I'll return and link to them in this same post. I would definitely search high and low and look around in PHH's GSI notes and see what all is in them about this sort of thing. How are you doing your install? What is your installation process step by step?
I haven't used a GSI since my Motorola phones a few years ago but I remember depending on what device installation varies. I'll see if I can locate anything and link it here and tag you if I do. Cheers.
Edit added: Turns out DotOS devs revamped the new Android 12 theme engine and plan on releasing it once they drop v5 2 of their DotOS rom!! Maybe someone will compile DotOS. I plan on getting another better laptop in six months. If it's not available for us then I'll take a few cracks at it and if I'm successful I'll first get permission from DotOS and show them what I have and if they okay it I'll post some Pixel 4XL coral builds. But that will be six to nine months away from now. Times are hard. May happen sooner..
@phenomenalblaze I found a tool thats supposedly made for this sort of thing here:
I'm usually not HUGE on using toolkits on Android because you don't learn anything that way you know. .But figured I'd share.
Hiya folks,
I've been playing around with trying to get GSI ROMs to work on this old Mi3W.
I was specifically keen on LeOS but I was under the impression that ANY GSI for 32bit is universally compatible and should work, right?
I (successfully) followed the repartitioning instructions here (and referred to here also) to supposedly make the Mi3W GSI "compatible".
MIUI 10 EU ROM boots fine, is smooth and polished, but NOT privacy friendly..
I'm a longtime user of lineageOS and other custom ROMs mostly in the interest of less invasion of privacy.
I've gone through several lists of GSI ROMs looking for 32bit / arm and degoogled / microg and downloaded what I found.
Unfortunately, I seem to have missed something because none of them boot.
The phone shows "MI" a couple of times and then just boots to TWRP recovery each time.
Either I'm doing something wrong, or these ROMs really cannot / are not meant to boot on this phone.
How do I tshoot this? A little help please? There seem to be a lot of links to telegram groups, what is up with that?

Hi @go0,
If you can still access to fastboot mode, I would suggest you try
- fastboot erase cache.
If it doesn't work,
- fastboot erase system;
- fastboot erase userdata.
If you still can, remember back up your data before executing these commands above.
Have you ever tried GSI before and did they work well on your device?
oops
