Why it so difficult to get unlock sim code from att?

Let's talk to the point, already have this moto x customized phone from moto maker, u bought it from swappa, after it arrive to my country, I put my local sim card and, the message sim network unlock pin pop up, I have already try 4 third party unlocking service, but not result, they all said my code not found, don't know what to do, anyone here have suggestions or opinion? Feel free to share, Thx

I also ordered one from at&t and RipCo unlocks got me the code in two days...
(They are selling it on ebay)
They also return your money if they can't get the code.

I have the same question as OP. I am about to order a MotoX and will be traveling in 1 month.
Who is RipCo?

For Motorola are more services available,there is a cheaper service that does not work for all phones,but tere is a service for not found phones ,which even if is a bit more expensive ( around 12$) should unlcok your phone

Let me see if I understood correctly, you bought your Moto X from motorola's website (in the Design Yours section), customized your phone and at the end you choosed Carrier -> ATT -> No Contract (that's 499$) and you got it to work in your country?

Just got myself an AT&T Moto X. I am in India right now and dont see any option to e-mail the guys at AT&T. For some reason they want me to register. Can anyone help me out with this? I need to SIM unlock the phone. How do I reach AT&T via e-mail?

This is the AT&T International (+1 916 843 4685) phone number.Can call that 1-2 times if you can and try to convince you to give you a code,but lately seems they do not give codes unless you have or had a contract with them and use the form from their website to request for it. If that is not working can just buy an unlock code should be around 12$

Anyone have a phone with imei starting 3532 that has had problems unlocking?

AT&T Nexus 6 on Verizon?

Will this work? I can't find definitive info and I'm an hour away from meeting someone to purchase

all nexus 6 are the same. they will all work on sprint, tmobile, att, and verizon. but with sprint and verizon, you need someone to add the phones imei into their system.

How hard is that typically to pull off? Do you know if a Verizon store rep would be able to do that?

Supposing I can get the SIM unlocked, it should be a go in getting it on VZW then? I'm trying to quantify the risk I'll face in not being able to get it activated on my VZ account

the first problem would be getting att to sim unlock it. everything else would be easy. you can by a tmobile n6 and use it on verizon right away though.

I got the Nexus 6 an hour or so ago. Went to cellunlocker.net and they are trying an alternative database. Hopefully they can produce a code!

I'm on Verizon, no code yet from cellunlocker.net.

Hey dude I just got ahold of a_t_&_t customer care and they are saying that in a few good days you will be able to sim unlock with just an email and the Imei supposedly

IMEI Unlocking Code?

Hi,
I'm trying to unlock the "imei" on my Moto x XT1097 Telus Mobility so I can use a Rogers Wireless Sim Card but am having difficulty to find a reliable Unlocking Service online. Has anyone done this with their Moto x lately? And if they found one?
Any info would be much appreciated.

The cheapest unlock service I have found and used was on ebay. It costs about 3 bucks. I'll send you a PM with the link.

AT&T is unlikely to give out a lock code for a Telus phone.

I bought an unlock code from cellular unlocker.net and I got it the next day. I think it was over $20. I have the at&t xt1097 variant

I just input the given unlock code they gave me and it worked on the 1st time. I do not live in the US, however my local carrier here pretty much uses the same bands as at&t. I've read that users have issue with trying to get it to work on T-Mobile network after updating it to lollipop. Might want to double check your APN settings or maybe there's a bad coverage in your area?

I am in awesome T-Mobile coverage area. Do you know where I can find a fix for that?

I cannot confirm a fix for that because i do not stay in the United States. Try downloading an app called secret phone info in the playstore. You will be able to switch the network from the default gsm/LTE to wdcma preferred. I found this that I'm able to get better cell reception. Maybe try calling T-Mobile or keep searching in google. If I'm not mistaken theres a slight hardware difference between the T-Mobile (pure edition) and AT&T variant regarding the bands it supports.

If you have an ATT XT1097, you can request an unlock code from ATT here:
https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/
If you are not an ATT customer, you select non-ATT Mobility customer when requesting your unlock code.

I have the ATT services but I can't request that code because the person I received the devices from has completed their contract yet.
That is why I am trying to figure this method.

Believe it or not, AT&T has been unlocking phones that are still on contract or are still on Next payment plans. There are threads about this in the iPhone forums.

I have only IMEI unlocked AT&T iPhones so I don't really know how it works with Androids, but I do know that people have IMEI unlocked their Androids that were still on contract by simply requesting the unlock through that link.

I am trying to subsidy network unlock E4 Plus from Verizon, but no one seems to be selling the codes on ebay. I tried a few sellers, but after buying they all say the device is no longer supported or server is down.

You can't. They can no longer be unlocked.

Verizon doesn't allow the unlocking of bootloaders. Ever. They even lock down their Pixels, last I knew. It's just how VZW is.

Try ebay. Cell Unlocker Pro worked on mine. It was only $3,

Anything under 3 days is considered "too new" and has a high chance of being ineligible.

If you bought it second hand and it's paid off but on your T-Mobile account and is network locked, I should be able to unlock it. There's no guarantee but I can give it a shot as long as it's been on your T-Mobile account for more than 3 days. Drop me a PM with the information I require and I will get back to you on Friday.

All SIM unlock requests that I received via PM are done.
