I installed the rom TouchWiz Lite 8.1.0 and the status of course custom not official because TWRP recovery installed..
Anyway, I did use Triangle Away to reset the flash counter and get official status but did not work. Any other way to fix it without losing TWRP recovery?
You can't. The only way to change the STATUS to OFFICIAL is to flash Stock Rom/Firmware

Hello,
I was wondering, I'd like to root my OP3T , following the guide w/e here or on OnePlus forum. But will be my flashed update as stable as if I keep it on stock recovery ? ( Since people w/e they have OTA on stock or flashing new update on custom recovery )
Besides, I'm already on Nougat 7.1.1 if I root, I won't lose it right ?
And I looked for the right TWRP and the right SuperSu but on their guide are for MM 3.5.1 and not on N 7.1 so where can I find the right version ? on their Website ?
So thank you very much for your help !
If you root your phone, the System Update app will detect it and download the full ROM for each update rather than the partial update. This occurs regardless of the status of your recovery. Since root modifies partitions that the user generally does not have access to, the updater will always overwrite all non-/data partitions during the update. Plus, when you flash an update, it removes root anyways.
My advice is keep TWRP as a custom recovery. When an update is released, you can still go into the Update menu in Settings and download the full ROM (it will do so automatically if it detects root). Then just flash the full ROM in TWRP, flash whatever you used to root, wipe cache, and you're done. If something goes wrong, you can always use TWRP to restore a prior backup. The same can't be done for the stock recovery.
Ok thank you very much for those informations !
Still, do you know which version I should download ? Since I'm on 7.1.1 , thread only shows for 7.0
I searched and I found : SuperSU 2.79 and for TWRP it's the 3.0.4-1 ? Are they right ?
Can I use TWRP flash stock ROM ?
Thanks
No you can't. It'll brick your phone. But there's a custom TWRP maybe called ZSL or something else which can flash stock ROM and bypass the security option.

The recovery is zcx to be correct. I'd like to say that i already updated miui rom with twrp, all i did was downloading recovery rom from miui site and use the updater app included in miui rom. The only downside is i lost twrp and root but flash them after upgrade and everything was back to normal!!
Hello
My mi5 shipped with miui 8 global stable. I then unlocked the boot loader, rooted it and installed twrp.
Now that miui 9 is out I would like to try it. The updater notified me of the new versione and I can download it but I don't know how to install it considering that I do not have the original recovery.
It is not a problem for me to lose twrp if at least I can update and keep root access and my data. Is it possible? How to do it?
You must have stock recovery then this method.

Or try zcx-twrp
but anyway there's a risk of boot error so backup important data.
Your best shot is probably ZCX recovery. But you'll probably end up with bootloop. Also you can try flashing stock recovery if you have it.
i unlock my phone p20pro and i installed custom recovery
so when offical update 9.0 came out i press install and restart then log to custom recovery and stop
so is there any way to update without losing data through recovery ?
or is there anyone to getback offical recovery ?
You probably could use the recovery_ramdisk_nocheckP20.img
Google the filename.
Hi guys , my device mi 5 32gb
flashed alpha 8.6.5 then i lost my custom recovery
and I can't flash by fastboot coz my socket has a problem
i tried to flash some global & Chinese roms by the updater but got many errors
so can anyone help me to find a rom that i can flash it by the updater and get the official root by xiaomi in the permissions settings to get my root and custom recovery back ?
If you are rooted you can try to install the recovery with the twrp app
