To which country/operator your cust c106 corresponds?
It's strange, I just checked on Firmware Finder, there is no newer firmware for c106 than your b190 which is still stuck on Marshmallow - hence you never received OTA for Nougat (and probably you never will)
Below is a post about rebranding from c900 (also stuck on Marshmallow) to eg pan European c432, where Nougat firmwares were available since the end of 2016
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72153575&postcount=2
However, your c106b190 requires a different start, you may ask @Tecalote in the thread as above how to proceed in your case
Ok, thanks.
These phone are in Latin America, Costa Rica, the operador it's called Ice-kolbi, thats a problem

Pan European c432 includes all languages, incl. Spain, it's up to Nougat, b505 latest buiild
People in Spain and Latin America rebrand to c432 because of updates (custom ROMs, etc), IMO you should consider rebranding, too
As a preparation, you will need to buy (if you didn't ask and obtain for free from Huawei, when it was possible) code to unlock Bootloader - DC Unlocker, 4 Euros credit

Every P9 can do that, as a prerequisite you must have Bootloader unlocked and you must start from the stock Nougat
Carefully read OP posts, every single detail is described and explained there

Also flashed it but beware...!!
This will change the version from GRA-L09C432 to GRA-L09C02.
Don't know what the difference is but still want to mention it to you.
Edit..now we have an Vodafone Europe version.

No, this is not for the UL10 variant - latest is probably B398 for it.
For your model, use Huawei Firmware Finder to find & download.
Enter the correct model (GRA-UL10) & your phone's firmware region (Cxxx) in the app.
It's recommended to download & install the FULL version only (very large file) using the external sd/dload-dialler method.
Installed the firmware without any problems, however, it locked the bootloader my rooted B398. I will unlock the bootloader (or at least I hope so ) this weekend. For users who do not want to root their P8s it is a great firmware.
What's so great about it? I've flashed it but went back to B398 because I don't want a branded rom. And don't want a Vodafone app.
Also think that a non Branden rom will be updated sooner.

It is much snappier than B398, esp. if one uses the graphic card for 2D rendering (available in the options for programmers) like me. It is also less buggy than B398 (kowabunga! Notes work with flying colors!).
BTW, I reunlocked the bootloader and rooted my P8. It worked without any problem so I did in an a quarter or so. I upgraded Magisk from 12.0 to v.13.3 and Magisk Manager from 4.3.3 to 5.1.1. I am very surprised that the phone passes the SafetyNet check now, so the phone is both rooted and can use apps available for unrooted phones only like NFC payment app from my bank.
Hello people !
I have just one question about my Huawei P8 , becouse my phone was auto updated few weeks ago ( Google security update)
My build number is B397 and i have got Marshmallow 6.0 ( EMUI 4.0.3 now ) . . How to rollback to 4.0 EMUI ( i had that before )?
Please write steps
Thank you for answer,
Hello guys, I've tried a bunch of tips and tutorials but no success on update. Someone knows how to update from that firmware? EVA-L09C605B135

Without debranding you must stay on cust c605 (Columbia?)
You can upgrade by HWOTA

So no way to update using the FirmwareFinder directly from that FW? I already run a lot of custom ROMs with Samsung and Motorola devices, it's my first Huwaei and I don't want to brick it... :laugh:
(I'm from Brazil, but the phone was bought on Mexico or Colombia, I'm not sure)
Thanks,

Actually I see now you are on b135 which is probably MM EMUI 4.1 -in that case HWOTA as there will not work
I don't know about OTA upgrades from c605 b135, and why they don't come for you - but if you debrand to c432 you will have more options (OTA till b399 or even b502) and custom ROMs
Otherwise, DLOAD method must work for FullOTA-MF-PV versions (you can find FullOTA-MF-PV among older builds on FF) but you can't jump from b135 to b3xx, you must go gradually (people with c605 should know details)
Hi everyone,
I started a thread before [https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/european-rom-eva-tl00-t3605638] asking how to convert a chinese phone into european.
i couldn't get it working because i didn't have a boorloader code. now i do.
I'm reading on various threads, one thread says you can just flash a eva l09 onto the phone another says you have to change th oeminfo or it won't work.
i'm confused. what do i need to do to flash european frimware onto a chinese eva tl00 phone.
is there a step by step guide on how to do it?
You have to change oeminfo.
For rebranding (including oeminfo) use the tool HWOTA7 from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rebrand-update-tool-hwota7-p9-eva-t3820849
Look into the post #3 - skip the first part about unrooting and downgrading from Oreo (supposing you are not on Oreo).
Read also posts #1 and #2 in the same thread, they contain general usuful and detailed info about using HWOTA7 (although these two posts describe the opposite process, rebranding from EU to Chinese AL10)
thanks

Btw, per your other thread (two opened?!), you have dual SIM (is it?) EVA-TL00C01B377.
In that case you're still on Nougat - as needed for HWOTA7.
But then you can also use HWOTA7 to rebrand to EVA-AL10C00B399 (exactly as in the HWOTA7 thread), where from you upgrade to b528 Oreo.
As explained in the HWOTA7 thread, you can keep dual SIM functionality, you will have GApps (stock), debloated from Chinese apps, you can root it by Magisk and you can even flash treble OpenKirin AOSP ROMs (instead of stock).
It's all described in the HWOTA7 thread. Many of us have just rebranded from European Lx9c432 (Mediteranian and other custs) to Chinese AL10c00b528 because of otherwise we cannot and we would never have Oreo on P9.
So, it's strange that you go in the opposite direction.
lot of trouble

You got it through OTA ?
Yes OTA. My phone is not rooted.
Huawei hast a miserable update politic.
No one knows how it works and why some devices are getting updated immediately and others not.
EMUI8 should be rolled out for everyone. Maybe your IMEI is not in their system or your phone is rebranded and Huawei won't update because IMEI and region are not fitting together.
You can try Firmware Finder app by TeamMT to update. It works until newer Oreo versions. You can also check Firmware Access in this app, maybe you can update through it.
Or you try to ask Huaweis support, but it's not very good and professional in most countries.

Which of these should i install in order not to lose my data ?
Thank you
Try OTA first, if this doesn't work FullOTA.
There's always a risk losing your data while updating, even with official methods.
If you want to lower this risk try the latest version called "(Full)OTA-PV". This is the public version.
I never had any issues with updating using Firmware Finders files.

Not global, C636 is an Asian version. There are beta tests in some European countries and sometimes Huawei ceased releasing updates completely (I'm stuck on B376 and it's the newest version for my country, even though P10 Lite got 4 more updates and continues getting them regularly).

you're not stuck. change to another region firmware. what's stopping you
@fatjoez You cannot change the region in EMUI anymore, it's determined by your SIM. It's enough to swap it with the one from abroad and updates will show up immediately. It worked for many people, unfortunately I don't have an access to such SIM.
And it's not a bug, Huawei's consultants admitted that by Huawei's decision B376 is the newest software in my country (which is one of the largest for Huawei in EU).
no I mean what's stopping you to rebrand your phone? or force flash another regions firmware?

Yes, look for 'rebranding' in the guides section. You do need an unlocked bootloader for this.

Hi
I got the same model VTR-L29(C636) on eBay from China. Trying to use it in Delhi, but the phone appears to have extremely poor radios. It connects well in areas where the signal is strong, but in weak areas it just doesn't connect at all.
India primarily uses 4 LTE bands - 3, 40, 41 and 5. Band 5 (850 mhz) comes into play indoors, where the signal is the weakest. It looks as if the P10 is unable to use this band, although the specifications say so.
I am interested in knowing what is the connectivity of the phone like in B'desh, whether you are facing the same issues or not.
Thanks.
Hi
Here in Dhaka we have 3G & 4G connection available based on locations in City area. Most of the time my phone connected with 3G and very rare it is on 4G though it is set on 4G.
I have no problem on connection and the speed.
Hope this helps you.

Finally Android Pie official is rolling out, already in China and soon Europe and rest of the world

Thanks, do you have the C636 firmware ?
Hi, I don't find a complete guide to know the brand of phone, huawei mate 20 pro, but only pieces in many sites.
Here a complete guide.
It's very simple. There's a code on dialer *#*#2846579#*#*, this will open a menu. On menu through - > "network information query" - > "vendor country info", you'll see vendor and country. Models no branded have as vendor hw (it should be huawei=, hw) and as country Eu (for Europe phones, out of Europe can has other voices).
So, if your phone has vendor:hw and country:eu, it's not branded.
If vendor is Tim, H3G, Vodafone, Wind or others, it is branded.
Another method more simple is through build number:
C432=EU
C55=TIM
C113=WIND
ITAC555=H3G
C02=VODAFONE
Every model: LYA-L09/LYA-L29 (LYA=LAYA), etc... Has these codes in build number, and every codes means a different vendor, and obviously C432 means no branded.
I'm from Italy, so I'm sorry for my English, however, I don't know other names of mobile operators, but in Europe if you've C432, phone isn't branded (last huawei's phone models haven't state's firmwares, for example a code for Italy's models and another for Germany's models, but they have code for Europe and others out of Europe and vendors).
C792=Canada (Videotron only?) LYA-L0C - single SIM.
