Update .161 issues - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello,
I received an update to .161 on my L29 432 today.
I have updated my phone and it is now even more choppier and laggy than before.
What is going with this phone, I am hating it more and more, when I take photos there is always a 0.5sec for taking a picture after I press button to take picture.
I don't want to do factory reset on my phone.
Is there anything I can do rather then just selling this phone (for me personally, junk phone because I have less troubles and problems with 5 times cheaper Xiaomi Redmi 3 prime)?
Only good thing about this phone for me for the last 2-3 months is battery, nothing more, so so many bugs and problems.

Mine working flawless with OTG metod update with WIPE!!
Love the phone with PIE!

Yeah, the problem is that I still haven't received PIE in Croatia.

What is the problem with your camera mode? Have you ever tried to clear the camera cache?

[Q] Very slow SQLite performance

My adventures with the HTC One have surely been interesting. Bought one off eBay the other day, unwrapped, and the first picture I took had a terrible pink hue all over. Had to send it in for repair straight away. It came back with the new OV sensor and as I got down to installing all apps I noticed how restoring my messages via SMS Backup & Restore seems to take forever.
My M7 is the EU 32GB model. It runs stock Lollipop v7.19.401.2. Was factory reset multiple times, its cache cleared in recovery, tests were performed when connected to a power source and not, and yet it still takes a whooping 1:39:34 (yep, that's well over an hour) to restore 17445 messages. The exact same file takes 14:23 (14% of the time or a 7x speed difference) on my vintage Galaxy S2 (SlimKat 4.4.4 build 7.9, no OC or fancy perf squeeze, never TRIMmed, not restored or in any other way maintained over the last 12 months). That's somewhat... underwhelming for a year old, flagship device.
What's your experience? What could be causing this terrible performance? Since this is a reputable app and because the same one was used on both devices I conclude this has to be a problem with the device rather than app/file. I'm also attaching Androbench results, thou strangely enough they seem to be in the ballpark compared to M7 results on the interwebs.
Has noone come across this issue? Find it a little strange since from my point of view this is abysmal, just not sure if it's the phone or the stock ROM...
Can you please at least have a look at the screenshot and let me know if the benchmarks looks ok-ish?

Anyone else having these issues ??

I have just had to factory reset my phone after just 3 months of use. Coming from being a heavy nexus and pixel user I always noticed little Samsung animation stutters when navigating the UI... Even open and closing the app drawer stutters when swiping up and down which I'm very surprised about for a phone with this amount of power and all the praise it gets from reviews. Don't get me wrong the phone is still snappy but I'm very sensitive to animation frame drops.
As time has gone on I've noticed really severe frame drops even when unlocking the phone to the home screen using the finger print scanner and even using the finger print scanner started to not work and could take 2 or 3 presses before it would unlock the phone and even then it would lag and take a few seconds to actually open the phone once it had recognised the fingerprint and made the unlock sound
So far since resetting it has been better but I wouldn't want to keep resetting every few months cos Samsung can't make a decent UI. Has anyone else experienced these types of issues or am I just unlucky???
I have the phone scheduled to auto reset once a week to keep it fresh but that obviously didn't help.
I turn off animations. Also, get off the Samsung Experience launcher, which helps a lot.
I'm sensitive to that stuff too and this helps it all go away.

Thanks I'll try using Nova launcher and see if that helps.
My fingerprint scanner gets laggy sometimes too. It's odd. Because it never happened on my Note 8.
I've got a 512GB Note 9 coming in the mail (hopefully tomorrow), so I'll see how the 8GB vs my current 6GB Note 9 does.

I've got the 8gb one. Never had a laggy fingerprint scanner. Weird!
I have the AT&T version with unlocked firmware installed and have noticed no lag using stock launcher.

Hopefully mine won't either!
My 512GB Note 9 didn't arrive today. It got misdirected in the mail...again. Apparently, it has left the Kansas City distribution center three different times in the last 12 hours, but hasn't actually gone anywhere.

LOL! Maybe! It finally arrived at the local post office last night, but it's not out for delivery yet. Nor is it showing as expected to be delivered today. Usually by this time in the morning, my packages are showing out for delivery. It's all so weird.
I must admit my Samsung note 9 is edging towards 1 of my worst phone purchases.
Fingerprint sensor isn't as great as what I thought it would be nor is the biometrics unlock.
Wifi calling has pretty much stopped working since a few updates back. On EE UK.
Only get wifi calling with volte turned off.
Constantly missing emails and texts for some reason I dont seem to get notifications come through. So I would open my text messages app and notice texts from hours earlier which didnt notify me in any way same with emails which didnt come through but yet sat unread in my emails app.
Definitely not as smooth as my previous Oneplus 5 cant see how because it has Samsung ui on top it should be expected.
The S**t thing is I bought it on the upgrade programme so paying monthly.

Android 10 in sweden!

Yesterday(9/16-2020) my phone got the android 10 update. How is it in the europe? Any updates in any country?
In the offic Forum the rollout seems to be in Italia, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Poland... right now.
But it seems only the retail one but not the Amazon Alexa one.....
I have the reteu version of motorola one zoom. So I don't think that it's only the retail
Reteu is the "normal" parker/zoom version.
(AMZEU)Reteu with release channel AMZEU is the Amazon Alexa Motorola one Zoom Edition.
Just got it in the UK on my amazon alexa device
Motorola One Zoom unusable after Android 10 update
Hi,
I got the official upgrade to Android 10 for the Motorola One Zoom yesterday (Sep. 16, 2020) as well.
I am based out of Switzerland.
For the time being, I strongly recommend NOT to install it.
It broke several things, which makes the phone virtually unusable.
1. Several apps crash almost immediately after starting, including basic functions like Phone (yes, the phone itself, so you cannot place or receive calls), Contacts, parts of the Settings function, Google Play or WhatsApp.
2. Battery drain in stand-by is now between 5 and 10% per 10 minutes. In a couple of hours may the phone is dead. There is only a minor improvement in switching to battery saving mode. If you actually use the phone it drains much faster
3. Bluetooth disconnects every 5-10 seconds. You cannot use any BT earpiece, headset or hands free. BTW, this means the Swiss COVID app, which uses BT to track possible contacts with infected people, is not working either
I had to bring back from the dead an old phone and put it back to work, as the One Zoom is unusable for the time being.
Again, I hope other One Zoom owners will be luckier with Android 10.
Please share you experience....
PS. My One Zoom is an XT-2010-1 and Android 10 build number is QPH30.29-Q3-28-13

I received Android 10 in Czech Republic yesterday. It is as stable as it was with Android 9. Battery life is excellent. I don't experience and noticeable standby drain. There is definitely something wrong about your device. I hope they will resolve it with another update.
Overall my Moto Zoom is the most stable phone I've ever had. I believe there are many satisfied used of this phone. But people usually don't post positive feedback.
If anyone reading this from Moto, thank you for this phone. I really enjoy it. I don't even care it was on Android 9 until yesterday as long as it worked fast and stable. Newest software is not always the best software.

I confirm it's a great phone, and I was a delighted Moto One Zoom owner and user, up until the Android 10 upgrade yesterday.
The experience has shaken my enthusiasm and confidence quite a bit, and as a further confirmation that Murphy's Law is still valid, this happened when I most needed the phone to work for professional reasons and caused major disruptions in my activities.
Separately, can you please share your model number and build as well?
It may help me focus my efforts to get the issue fixed with Motorola support.
Thx
Had the update, UK Amazon Alexa edition. So far no probs, no crashes or anything bad to report.
Sadly still no WiFi calling, which is pretty pathetic.
Working good till now
Hi there,
Yesterday I have received the Android 10, I have the Amazon Alexa version, bought from Amazon Italy. Till now is working good, just a little hotter when fast charging.

main camera blurr

Hi,
After the first 2020 ota update the camera started to get blurred and now is completely useless.
So i looked at the changelog and the update "fixed" something related to QRcode reading. So they must have messed something up.
Anyone knows anything about it?
Model: ZE620KL 128gb rom, updated to latest firmware, rooted with magisk and with twrp.
Thanks.
Additionally, wide camera works fine so far. But still it is strange that sometimes the main camera works and right after few minutes it gets all blurr again.
Hello, I have the same problem. It looks like the update killed a part of the camera. Your OIS is broken now. You can either replace your camera (around $10) or, as I did it, you can try to tap on the camera module. It may fix it temporary. A little bump could also work.
I am having a similar issue. Autofocus works fine for images close to the camera. Seems to be related to the QR code update mentioned by @Gyplay.
My phone has been serviced 3 times during warranty (free). It just died 20 days after receiving it. Then, around its 4th month of life it stopped holding charge. Around it's 10th month it just died again. No falls, not a single scratch and no liquid spills...
Now I have been living with this issue with the camera for almost a year...
Never had issues with any of my previous phones...
Perhaps I was unlucky, but will never buy an asus phone again.

Question Current usability of the xiomi 11t pro

Hey guys i was thinking of getting the 11t pro,and for a few reasons i can only go for a mi phone at the moment ( i actually am getting quite a large discount from mi store in India). So my question have most of the issues like the overheating been ironed out or are there still issues with it and what other minor/major issues are there with the phone cuz for some reasons finding issues with this phone seems quite difficult on YouTube or else where. And how is the display and have there been any cases of black crush issue on the display. Thank you
Got the phone in January and have no issues whatsoever. The last update we got and I have no more heating issue. Screen has never given a problem either.

I am glad to know that. Is there any other quirk to the phone? And I would also like to ask you is there an option to disable the 120watt charging and like limit it to like 60 or something?

That option only exists in xiaomi.eu rom, and it's an option to either turn on or off, you can't adjust the voltage, with stock rom then no. If you want slower charge just get a slower charger imo.

Do you game on your phone much? I'm thinking of picking up an 11t pro, and wondered what temps were like for gaming when playing something heavy like genshin or similar. I was wondering if lowering the graphics/screen rate would prevent the phone from overheating....?

Same all the reviews said there isn't overheating but there is heavy throttling. But those were from months ago hence i am not sure if that is still the case or they fixed the issues with a software update.
Amazing phone for the price but also annoying and bad. The screen is horrendous. Proximity sensor is the biggest let down of this phone. I'm constantly tapping the screen to wake the phone up. It's just not responsive to wake and also unusable while making a call. Every single app is pressed with your ear while making a call, then it becomes impossible to hang up or go back to phone dialer. This is a deal breaker for me, I would not recommend this phone. Running the latest global 13.0.4 MIUI.
At this moment I'm thinking of getting a 12 Pro but I'm afraid it might have the same issue due to virtual proximity sensor. Might need to go for a OnePlus 9 pro or 10 pro. But this phone needs to go cause the screen will drive you insane

I'm going to do a complete reset and try an EU ROM and see if there's any improvement. Cause apart from the screen issue I have this phone is a good phone, especially for the price and spec
