You are right every ROM works fine for volume. Just not stock. I am using crDroid right now.

yes,pixel experience is working fine

My only complain with audio is that when I am on a WhatsApp call or FB messenger call if I put the call on speaker the persons at the other end complain that my voice is very low to the point that they have to put their phone to their ear in order to hear me.
If anyone has a solution I would much appreciate it.
I am not quite ready to root my phone since it is working so well on PIE.
I have the Indian variant with 6GB ram.
Sorry for the disturbance but apparently the case on my phone is blocking the microphone

Call volume too low?

Hi, I just got my Nexus 6 that I purchased from eBay, everything is ok but the call volume, while it's pretty clear, I think it's too low compared to other phones, I'm not sure if I'm crazy or someone else has noticed that? I tried the speakers for music and they are loud, again, it might just me, but I wanted to double check if someone has noticed that, and if it's something normal for this phone, thanks!

Try this.
1. Make sure the system volume is all the way up as well as the phone earpiece volume.
Get an app the controls all volumes and you'll see it there along with media , alarm etc.
This happened to me but once i raised system and phone it was fine.
Also note that you must practice placing ear in perfect earpiece speaker position lol.
Let me know if it worked that was my problem.

Ditto. My phone volume way too low for in call - either with built-in earpiece or a wired headset.
Nothing I've found brings it up.
Speakers for media/notification is very good&loud, but speaker for in-call (using as a true speakerphone, not trying to use speakerphone mode as earpiece) and ringing is inadequate.

Lollipop broke the Audio?

Updated to Lollipop yesterday. Of course I'm using Sony's official update and not CM12. So yeah I didn't bother to.watch any videos or listen to music because I updated my phone very late at night. But today, I realised the Audio seems broken. How is it broken? Well, I play a YouTube video at max volume. Seems fine but a little soft for being at max. As soon as I drag it down just a bit, it's like impossible to hear anything. When it reaches half volume, it feels like the minumum volume and the minimum volume feels like it's muted. Anyone have the same problem?
Tl;dr: Can't hear jack **** on near max volume

I've reflashed multiple region ftfs. Still the same. Many people are having this problem. Maybe you just don't notice the low volume

Umm, nope, I can notice cause I consume a lot of media on my phone.
Weird thing is, bluetooth is weird. I use it in my car, and in KK, when I made a call, it'd change to the phone audio on its own. Now it stays on bluetooth audio until the call connects and then switches to the phone audio mode. This was the case even with AOSP 5.0 ROMs :/ it's weirdly inconvenient cause if I'm using the aux, I won't know if the call is about to be connected, cause I can't hear the ringtone on the call :|
I'm using locked rooted Kitkat,
updated via Sony PC Companion without wiping anything
after the updating to lollipop, it charges so slow, even when it's turned off
I used all the chargers here.
I'm planning to go back to kitkat without losing any app data.
I have no recovery and not rooted in lollipop. What can I do?
sound is definitely broken, because xloud is missing, clearaudio+ isnt working neither.

[Q] Problem with speaker and microphone.

I'm running the latest version of SlimLP on 5.1.1. The issue also happens on stock firmware too. Here are the problems:
1. The speaker doesn't work, except extremely rare circumstances when I hear a notification, usually from FB Messenger.
2. The microphone doesn't pick my voice up during calls, forcing me to use an integrated mic on headphones or loudspeaker.
3. The earspeaker doesn't seem to work.
4. When I record video or something, the sound is picked up, so obviously the microphone is still functional.
I've used the Xperia diagnostics app, and the microphone isn't deemed functional on that, the ear speaker doesn't work at all, but the loudspeaker works perfectly fine. I really don't know what to do. I don't think this is a hardware issue with any of them except the earspeaker. Anyone know fixes? I've tried pressing down on the areas but that doesn't seem to have an effect.

I also had a similar issue on another Xperia and I simply changed my firmware. Most likely I must have downgraded it. However, there is an app called SOUND ABOUT
That should fix the sound problems. Quote back in case you expect a reply!

I've tried the app before, it didn't work, now it does! Thank God, I'm pretty damn happy about this. Bought the pro licence.
When I plug my headphones in however, sound keeps coming out the normal speaker, rather then the headphones. Hmm.

Trust me this is a pure software issue. I had such problems with my device once. Sometimes plugging in and plugging out head phones a few times fixes it as well.

◇Stereo Dual Speakers Surround Sound♤N910F/T/P/V/G/W8♤N910C/H

DISCLAIMER=WARNING PLEASE FLASH ON YOUR OWN RISK AND MAKE SURE TO HAVE A BACKUP ROM BEFORE TRY IT JUST INCASE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG.AND DONT BLAME ME IF YOUR SPEAKERS OR EARS DAMAGE BY THIS MOD IF YOU RAISE VOLUME TO MAX BECAUSE IT'S EXTREMELY LOUD.
Hello xda members.
If you want to get surround volume stereo speakers from note 4 like iphone7+/htc boom sound stereo this is a right place this mod will give you stereo surround sound from back speaker and front ear speaker and surround loud sound from headphones and also when your phone will ring the ring tone and notification sound will come from both back and front speakers
AFTER FLASHING IF YOU WANT TO CONFIRM THAT BOTH SPEAKERS FRONT AND BACK WORKING TOGETHER JUST PLAY ANY SONG OR RING TONE THEN COVER THE BACK MAIN SPEAKER WITH YOUR FINGER THEN YOU CAN HEAR SOUND COMING FROM FRONT EAR SPEAKER TOO. FRONT EAR SPEAKER VOLUME IS NOT LOUD OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE ITS NOT AN SPEAKER BUT WHEN YOU PLAY SONG THE SURROUND EFFECT YOU WILL GET FROM COMBINATION OF BOTH SPEAKERS ITS JUST AMAZING.
You must have custom recovery installed such as TWRP OR CWM in order to flash the zip file.
THIS WILL WORK ONLY WITH ALL TOUCHWIZ ROMS THAT I'VE TESTED SO FAR IT WILL NOT WORK I REPEAT IT WILL NOT WORK WITH AOSP MIUI OR ANY OTHER ROMS.
FOR USA ALL MODELS FILES BELOW THE FILE NAME SHOWS TMO TMOBILE BUT IT WORKS FOR ALL USA MODELS OF NOTE 4 I'VE TESTED ON N910P/V/T/W8.

@ Trex888 Thanks a lot tried the medium volume for N910F and works great, but curiously how safe is the front speaker with using this mod for a long term use?
@mcfotty: Even Chinese smartphone makers test their phone with loudspeaker ON for hours. I am sure the Note4's earpiece speaker also went through rigorous testing, and some folks just use the loudspeaker all the time.
My device is like 3 years old now, getting slower and slower every day. At least there is something I can still get out of it. So, why not?
(Nvm just read N910C does not work. RIP.)

I am using this mod from over 3 months and no issues so far with speakers.
Just dont raise volume to max for too long it could possibly distorted the speaker sound.
Appreciate all your kind and timely responds and wondering if you can make this mod for n9100.....thanks

Not working on n910c erobot rom
Thanks for sharing this! On my 910T (Magma UX 1.0), using the loud version, it definitely works, but the rear speaker still over-powers the earpiece so it seems like it's not really working. Is this how it is supposed to be, or should the two volumes be more balanced? Thanks!

It's because front earpiece is not an speaker. the volume will be low because if it's loud it can damaged easily
Just replace the mixer path file (in the zip file) manually from N910F version on the N9100(dual sim Chn) and working great. Thanks for sharing the mod
Just tweak it for myself
Hi, can somebody tell me how to edin the power of back speaker (make it quiet) to "feel more stereo". What do I have to edit ? I see in etc two different mixer_paths. Thanks.

Any ideas?

Hmm ... yea I don't have either and I've even re-Odin'ed the stock firmware again just to be sure....
This is so strange. If all else fails on the software end of things then it's 'gotta' be hardware related... I'll report back after replacing the speaker to see if in fact it is a hardware issue....
Is there any mod for aosp pie rom?

However, when I plug in the headphone, some sound is still coming from the earpiece, which is a bit annoying, hoping it would be fixed.
