Disable turning on bluetooth/wifi without unlocking? - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

One can enable wifi and bluetooth without unlocking the Huawei P20 Pro via the drop-down. How can I disable this?
Under my Galaxy S6 I have Settings>Lock Screen and Security>Secure lock settings>"Lock network and security" but I don't see the same or similar option on the Huawei P20 Pro.
Does anyone know how to set this so one can't enable Bluetooth while my phone is locked?
My phone with bluetooth enabled allows to unlock and start my car, so it's kind of a big security issue

Can you elaborate? Do you mean the notification shade? Because when my phone is locked the notification shade is not accessible.

*googles notification shade* yeah that. But for some reason it is not accessible to me now too, so I guess I did change an option somewhere that fixed my problem. Or I'm just getting crazy. Cheers!

G920A wifi+screen mirror problems

Hi everyone. Happy new year.
I have just bought Samsung Galaxy S6 (G920A) which is on 5.1.1 and having baseband G920AUCU3BOJ7.
[/B]The phone is not rooted but device status is custom.
[/B]Third the knox error "unauthorized actions have been detected"
And last screen mirroring shows hardware issue unable to connect.
Any help regarding these issues will be highly appreciated. I want to update to marshmallow but worry about phone network lock.

The first problem is that the IMEI on the back cover doesn't match the software imei.
The phone is not rooted but device status is custom.
Second problem is that it doesn't save wifi networks, have to re-enter password again after switching wifi on off.
Third the knox error "unauthorized actions have been detected"
And last screen mirroring shows hardware issue unable to connect.
Any help regarding these issues will be highly appreciated. I want to update to marshmallow but worry about phone network lock.

Device imei not matching software imei sounds extremely sketchy.
Yes that's I know. But there are possibilities like back cover was broken then changed or maybe motherrboaed.. Just concerned about if the imei is changed via software that will be a problem. Anyways any solution for the problem.?
fix
I got same problem with ts. such as forgettable wifi password and annoying notification about security. Any possibilities to fix it??
Thanks in advance

No volte support on sm-n950U1 (USA unlocked)...??

Hi friends, I bought unlocked 64gb, single sim version of note 8 from New York last week but when I tried to use it with "Jio" sim in India, I found that phone does not support volte. Neither I could find any option in settings to activate that. So, how can I activate volte in the Said handset. Presently, using volte through "jio4gvoice" app. Pls help.
There is a thread about switching USA Carriers.
If you have, the right files you can get VOLT and other features working. At lest in the USA.

I am using unlocked gn 8-N950U1 in the US with tmobile, I get VoLTE and video calling as well as wifi calling. For video calling feature, download Shortcut Master (Lite), open and click app explorer, scroll down to IMS settings, launch then look for IMSsettingsLaunchActivity, turn the followings to On.

I don't know about the service out of USA but it works for me at least in the US with tmobile. Good luck!

For me, I just leave it there. It is completely up to you. It's just really small app, it won't take that much space. I leave it there just in case we update firmware from Samsung, video calling settings might be lost and we have to do the settings again. By the way, I'm glad it works for you there.
I leave mine as well...I like playing in settings and other apps...it is really a useful tool once you get used to its search feature

Hello Amit,
I have the same phone At&T Note8 with Android 7 unlocked, trying to run JIO VOLTE.
I understand the steps and tried, it did not work for me, no icon for VOLTE nor i can make any calls.
Can you please share the S/W version and steps you enabled ? I have been stuck from a week
Also, phone is asking for a 'number' when i enable the RCS , i gave the same JIO number it did not accept. Did you also get that prompt ? Is your RCS enabled ?
Thanks.
Dear friend, I just followed the steps mentioned in this thread and it's working fine till date without any issues. Just recheck you might have missed something. And about sw version will let you know in a day as the phone is of my uncle. Onething more, after following the steps did you check in settings menu and was volte option showing there after you followed the steps?

This worked great for me thank you.
Works on Android 7.0, but not on Android 8.0
Thanks for the update. I have been using VoLTE in India using this method since last Aug 2017. However after recent official Android Oreo update on 17th March 2018, I am unable to invoke the IMSSettingsLaunchActivity using any Shortcut application. Using "QuickShortcutMaker" app when I tried to invoke this activity, I got the error message:
"Sorry. You cannot launch this activity from this app because it requires some additional permissions to launch."
This was working perfectly on Android 7.0.
Any alternate idea to enable VoLTE switch (aka IMS Service switch)? Through ADB? (No rooting please).
Thanks.

I am also facing an issue to do such setting from the mentioned app.
Whenever I click on Ims launcher activity error comes as no data found.
I am on 8.0.0

Yes it's not working on Oreo. There are a few posts on here about it, I saw on one person's posts that I would have to find again that they have came up with a java programme that can get pass the OTP or one time passcode to access the IMS settings. I haven't tried it yet, but want to try that out soon

Can one of you try this method and report on that thread please... https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/how-to-volte-jio-india-carrier-usa-t3659238
Make sure you choose Note 8 specific files for step 2 and 3.

This is based on rooting which I want to avoid af all times since many of my org related apps would stop working on a rooted phone.
I had downgraded my S8(Sprint unlocked) phone to Nougat long back because of this issue. I can't upgrade till the issue with ims doesn't get resolved on Oreo rom.

OK Google from sleep / lockscreen

Is this a feature that this device supports?
I have everything I can think of enabled in Nova & Google Assistant settings. The "OK" keyword works fine when the device is awake. I just can't get it working from sleep.
BTW: I had it working on my LG V20 which I don't think officially supported it. That device was rooted and bootloader unlocked, among other things.
I'm downloading Pie now, but no, mine won't work either.
Try checking Settings → Security → Smart Lock → Voice Match, turn on "Unlock with Voice Match"
Mine hasnt worked from day 1, and Pie didnt fix it either. Also phone locked and using a headset also wont unlock with "ok Google." I loved this feature on my OG Pixel...
When I first got my RP2 it had Oreo on it and I could unlock my phone with OK Google. Then got an OTA for Pie and then I got a message from OK Google stating it could no longer unlock phone due to security issues. So Pie broke this feature.

VoLTE option gone after latest update on Galaxy Note 8

Ive been looking for the option on how to turn on and off the option for VoLTE..
The only thing left was the icon on notification bar..
Does anyone have an idea how to get back the option so I can use the service here in Philippines with my current carrier?
Do i need to get back the old firmware?
Your suggestions will be appreciated

Question Who is going to root S23?

Are you going to root your (new) Samsung S23 device?
This will trip Knox, but you can do customization and backup the Data.
I switched from the rooted Pixel7 to the S23 precisely because it can offer me everything even without root

Would you mind explaining what things were you achieving with root on the Pixel 7 that you can get without root on the S23?

5G,VoWifi,VoLTE, call recording(CSC), button remap(GoodLock, sideActions), launcher tweaks - GoodLock
And even on Pixel 7 without root, it was possible to turn off 4G, Wifi, or turn off the mobile phone without unlocking the phone. Samsung doesn't allow it without unlocking.

Well you can force reboot the phone and then go into recovery/download mode effectively making the phone offline.

I know the question is probably too early, but it is essential for my pre-order:D Does anyone know if it will be possible to change the CSC and activate call recording in the S23? (...
