In the previous thread, we discussed a method to convert T-Mobile 6T's to the international variant, sort of, but it required an unlocked bootloader, which itself requires a SIM unlock which T-Mobile gives people a hard time about.
However, it is through @Dark Nightmare and @iaTa's efforts that we've come this far. Today, I share with everyone a new method to turn a T-Mobile 6T into an international variant. One that does NOT require an unlocked bootloader or a SIM unlock!
Before you proceed: Following the steps below WILL wipe your phone. Please backup all of your important files from the phone before proceeding.
Here are the steps:
1) Download 6T MsmDownloadTool v4.0.58 (OOS v9.0.11) provided by @iaTa
2) Download patched flasher tools here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dYuVxnf_J97KPrRt6KEBOjau1BRvtnJQ (the patches simply remove checks that allow all the images to be flashed on the phone, I've personally tested the "MsmDownloadTool V4.0_factory_patched.exe" but not the "MsmDownloadTool V4.0_factory_mcl_op1_patched.exe" variant. You can do a binary diff on the EXEs against the originals in case there's any issues with trust.
3) Shut down your T-Mobile 6T completely
4) Press and hold Volume Up and Volume down keys simultaneously
5) With those two buttons held down, plug in your USB cord to your PC
6) Ensure that the USB drivers for Qcom download mode are installed and working (available in the MSMDownloadTool thread)
7) Extract the patched tools EXEs to the same directory as where you extracted the MSMDownloadTool
8) Run "MsmDownloadTool V4.0_factory_patched.exe" (or the other one, if you're feeling adventurous)
9) Click "Start" when you're ready to start patching the phone
10) After about 5 minutes it will finish its job and reboot the phone
11) Phone will boot normally, but no more T-Mobile logo, and instead there is the OxygenOS generic logo
12) Now your T-Mobile 6T is now running identical software to the unlocked 6T sold directly by OnePlus, and running the latest software (OxygenOS 9.0.11 at the time of this writing). You can even participate in Open Betas if you'd like, and the "Local Upgrade" feature is now enabled and working.
13) ???
14) Profit

It definitely works.
If you want to unlock bootloader after it's converted, then it's just a simple fastboot oem unlock WITHOUT having to wait 7 days for OnePlus unlock bin. Just like the 6T sold by OnePlus directly. And you can even load a dual-SIM tray and both SIM slots work normally.
This is great news! Did this method override the critical partitions in your test to fully convert? Did it become a full conversion or is it just another cool method to use the international Oxygen OS? You think OTA will work as normal now as well instead of doing a local upgrade and etc? Great job and excuse the numerous questions. I'm just curious and excited about this. I've been lurking in these related threads all this time and watching them progress. Lol

My tmo variant 6T is carrier unlocked and bootloader unlocked and converted to international via the old conversion method downloading the full OTA and flashing the "flash all" bin.
By using this MSM tool, after it locks up my bootloader again, can I still use my old unlock bin? Or will I have to request a new bin key from OnePlus?

The answer is two posts above yours. As the whole phone had been rewrote you have the international version and therefore don't need any bin key.
Besides using Magisk or another Launcher, is there a way to maintain the Google Now tab when swiping to the far right?
So, it's fully and 100% conversion? Meaning that full and incremental OTA's can get them worry free?

Won't know until the next OTA is released, to date we are unable to get OTAs, but local upgrade works fine.

Just did the conversion, so far so good. Running the OPBackup/Restore to get everything setup.
I was running 9.06 for a while then switched back to the T-mobile rom.
Yesterday I tried to convert to 9.011
The phone would reboot itself right after I got to the setup screen so I MSM back to T-Mobile rom.
Does anyone know if this method would correct that bug?

Do I need to setup an account on the OP site to backup?
When doing a restore do you skip during setup/sign in as far as all apps being downloaded from google?
And does the OPBackup/Restore restore all apps and settings putting the phone right back where it was before?

Yes you can unlock the bootloader after the conversion and flash anything you'd like at that point. However I don't recommend relocking your phone if you've flashed anything custom as that could leave your phone in a soft bricked state and you'd have to wipe your phone again with msm tool.

Background: I am writing this short guide for people like me that want all the info about the T-Mobile 6T unlock capabilities. None of this is my work. I wanted to have a central thread where T-Mobile users can discuss the T-Mobile specifics of this device.
When you purchase a T-Mobile branded OP 6T the device will be SIM and Bootloader locked. Many great people here on XDA found ways around the SIM and bootloader lock. I am simply compiling it all here in one simple thread to be a resource for us T-Mobile users. In this guide you will be directed to the proper resources to SIM and bootloader unlock your T-Mobile 6T and return to T-Mobile software fully unlocked. It doesnt matter if your device is paid off or not. You are bypassing the 40 day wait for a paid off device to SIM unlock!
This is a high level overview for someone that wants quick info and links. All of the info is on XDA but scattered in various threads. I found bits and pieces here and there in those threads so I decided to make a dedicated T-Mobile thread for any T-Mobile user that needs help with the complete process in one simple thread.
So here goes...
Step 1: Convert device to international ROM and unlock the bootloader. Thanks to @AnonymousTipster for this thread! Follow the steps here: T-Mobile 6T to International Conversion (WITHOUT unlocked bootloader/SIM unlock!) NOTE: You MUST use version 9.0.11 to unlock the bootloader (If you flash a newer version make sure you use the patched exe files). After converting to the International version (and going through the set up process) go to Developer options and select OEM Unlocking and turn it on. Now reboot to bootloader and issue the command "fastboot oem unlock" to unlock the bootloader. You are now on the international ROM with your bootloader unlocked.
Step 2: Root and Recovery: Thanks to @mauronofrio for this thread! Now you can root and install recovery on your device following the steps here: [RECOVERY][3.3.0-2][fajita]Official/Unofficial TWRP recovery for OnePlus 6T (Stable).
Step 3: Unlock the SIM . Thanks to @nika_bego for this thread. Follow the steps here: Guide SIM UNLOCK T-MOBILE version all type of IMEI supported.
---NOTE: At this point you can call it quits and keep device as is which is now both bootloader and SIM unlocked on the international firmware (I recommend updating to the latest beta's) or you can continue on with the guide to return to T-Mobile firmware while maintaining SIM unlock (which will lead to boot loader unlock)...
Step 4: Convert back to T-Mobile Device: Thanks to @Dark Nightmare for this thread. Now use the MSM Tool to revert back to the original T-Mobile firmware from here: [TOOL] T-Mobile OnePlus 6T MSMDownloadTool [Firmware 9.0 v1 & v2] This will RE-LOCK your bootloader but not the SIM. You only need to do this if you want to keep the T-Mobile firmware for the updated RCS app, etc. Once the bootloader is re-locked it will take 7 days to get the unlock token shown in the next step. There will be a few security updates once you flash the original firmware back. I would update before unlocking bootloader.
Step 5: Legit Unlock Bootloader Thank OnePlus for this NOTE: Take all OTA's before unlocking. Once unlocked you will no longer receive OTA Updates. You are now on T-Mobile firmware and SIM unlocked. You can proceed to unlock the bootloader the legit way now. Simply follow the steps here: How to unlock bootloader for OnePlus 6T (T-Mobile edition). NOTE: It does take an entire 7 days for the unlock token.
Thats it, your done! You are now fully unlocked and running t-Mobile version of the software (or moved on to other ROMS all together). You can now have root on the latest T-Mobile ROM or stick with a custom ROM.
Feel free to discuss all things T-Mobile in this thread.

I just choose to run stock because I want to keep the device as close to stock as possible. I am pretty happy with this phone the way it is out the box. The only reason I rooted was to install AdAway.

Custom kernels can be great and all. But the stock ones are still very well optimized overall and this phone is constantly giving me 7-8 hours SOT with both custom kernels and stock. Sure, there's the argument of debloating and lightening. But I think stock provides a decent enough experience that doesn't lose out on much important stuff
Nice work but step 2 isn't required. After giving the fastboot OEM unclock command, let it wipe as normal, then before letting it reboor, force it back to bootloader mode by holding vol up, down, and power till it reboots, then just hold power and volume down and it enters bootloader aka fastboot mode. Then give fastboot erase modemst1 and then fastboot erase modemst2. Then reboot. It is also worth mentioning msm 9.0.12 can be used now as long as u run it with the factory patched exe file from the intl conversion thread that was posted with 9.0.11.. Gets you all up to date, a bit faster. Take anonymous tipsters patched exe and copy to msm 12 directory. FYI,.every kernel and ROM for both the intl op6 and op6t work for our phone. Identical. Pixel experience by markash and treskmod actually run better on the phone than stock oos, with about 9-10 hrs sot. .. one plus dropped the ball on ram MGMT, especially with 8gbs of ram and them not utilizing it. Lastly if u stay on TMO firmware, I have a giant list of hacks I'll put together for the strictly stock users. Build prop edits that should be included to begin with.

Step two isnt required unless that is all you plan on doing is rooting. This guide just tries to link to the others guides. Just a high level overview.

Just followed this. Windows 8 was being a PITA for adb and fastboot so I upgraded it to Windows 10. BUT.. once I fixed the quirks with my laptop these steps went smoothly with no hiccups. Just gotta wait the 7 days now so I can use the Swift themer and make it look the way I like. Let's see how well this works completely stock for a week. When I first got this phone I immediately switched to international so I've never been able to experience the TMO firmware.

U have been able to do that, u can just bypass having to convince customer care to sim unlock it which gives you access to oem unlock which then allows u to flash twrp/ magisk and thus root...this is possible by unlocking the bootloader.
In overview..
Can sim unlock
Can unlock bootloader
Or just flash patched msm and bypass all of this
Can have dual SIM capability
Can run any software op6, op6t intl.
Can get unlock bin to legitimately and fully unlock device without needing TMobile to unlock anything.

Thats why I made this guide for T-Mo users. Not enough T-Mo users know you can unlock and root with the methods listed in this thread and other threads linked to.
Thanks for this guide. Just dropped my OP6 in my pool and need to get another phone asap. Was going to go to a TMO store tomorrow to get the 6T. If I pay for the phone in full and then follow steps 1-4 (I want root) and to leave it unlocked, will it be the same firmware/state as if I purchased from OnePlus directly?
Update: TMO is saying I need to have the phone for 60 before I can unlock it. Is that correct?

Back on T-Mobile now thank's to this amazing Community. Some steps to help others.
Step 1- Download the file in the original post, create a folder somewhere you know where it is and extract the downloaded files to that folder
Step 2-Turn off your OP7 Pro
Step 3-Open the folder you created and right click on MsMDownloadTool V4.0.88.exe and select run as administrator, Once open uncheck sha256 check.
Step 4-Plug the Original USB cable that came with your phone into the phone.
Step-5-Hold the Power/Volume up/Volume down button until you see Connected in MsMDownloadTool, the instant you see Connected press start. You only have 5 seconds before it's too late so be quick.
Step-6 Once you see "Download Complete" in green in the Status of Communication box in MsMDownloadTool the phone will automatically reboot and you should have the TMobile splash screen and be able to set the phone up through the set up Wizard.
That's it you are done.

Yes it reverts. If you are sim unlocked you can just unlock it or use the bin if not.

Good to know. I assumed it was based on the device IMEI, but I've never owned any other oneplus devices. Didn't know how that worked with them.

I have successfully upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat by the help of firmware finder app .
My current Build is EVA-L19C185B403.
Is there anyway to upgrade to Oreo without unlocking Bootloader? I don’t have a card to buy code from DCunlock.

First, keep your code (on several places, even printed on the paper), it is good for relocking/unlocking (you never know, some actions may lock the Bootloader back) for the lifetime of your phone.
You don't want to go buying the same thing again
Assuming you know how to enable OEM Unlock in Developer's menu and you are a little familiar with Fastboot, it is simple to unlock the Bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem unlock <your code>
If not familiar, and if not clear as below, search on Google how to:
- enable Developer menu by clicking 7 times to the build number in Settings/About
- enable OEM unlock in Developer menu
- install "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" to Windoze (smallest, self containing package with everything for ADB and Fastboot)
- reboot to Fastboot: keep pressing Vol-, then Pow button
Unlocking Bootloader triggers hard-reset, wiping also Internal memory. Backup as much as you can - use Google account, HiSuite, WA own chat backup, copy DCIM to PC, Contacts can be exported to vcard file, etc
Rebranding to AL10c00, upgrading to b540 Oreo, applying the neccesary Network patch to make SiM card(s) working - all is in deep details explained in the OP posts:

It is safe, just some Patch02 (never found exactly what for).
If you don't mind, you can skip (you can disable OTA - see in OP)
If you go for, you must first flash back the stock Recovery, hence not having TWRP. Not sure anymore, maybe also stock Ramdisk, hence not Magisk
Patch02 will not affect Network Patch or Face Unlock (cool add-on, see OP)
If you didn't apply Network patch yet, etc - then accept Patch02 and continue with OP instructions.
If you already rooted by Magisk, then don't bother with Patch02, too much trouble preparing clean sheet for OTA and rooting again

I have already applied Network Patch, See my both SIM is working.
Right now I don’t need Root so I'm skipping Magisk.
I just want to disappear the update available Notification, if the update is Safe I'll go for it.

I'm from Bangladesh, some Operator in our country introduced VoLTE.
It seems there is an option called VoLTE after upgrade to Oreo. Is it really works?

Nope, VoLTE does not work.
Everything else, like location sharing and Ok Google are fixed with Network patch, but not VoLTE.
The guy who did the whole majestic work went tired (although he believed he was close to fix VoLTE) and gave up. Later he upgraded to newer Huawei devices with Pie, etc, and eventually moved away from XDA

It's not possible to remove the warning on booting "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" (IMO, it must have been commented somewhere in the OP) - that's price for the unlocked Bootloader.
But you must not relock Bootloader - it would trigger Hard reset, removing Network patch (even worse, it could also cause soft brick if TWRP or Magisk are installed)
15 credits for unlock in fastboot mode (not pay over sms)
Soo I tried to get the unlock code for nokiadotcom phone sen_int bootloader but it says invalid IMEI

I've been reading for hours now about how to unlock the Nokia 8 TA-1012 bootloader, now that Nokia's official method is defunct.
Can someone clarify if this service, which seems to be reasonably priced, will lead to me having the actual unlock.key for keeps and, more importantly, will this enable me to unlock critical?

No you will not get the unlock key. Yes it unlocks critical.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I'm trying to do this for a relative, so I don't want to screw up along the way. Is there ANY downside to not having the unlock key once the phone is critical unlocked? I'm not planning to relock it or anything, I'm just overwhelmed with the whole Treble thing and making sure I don't miss anything.

I've been real busy since I asked about the whole thing but I was planning to follow that exact guide. It unlocks critical, right? From there I install Treble and Custom ROM and theoretically, if it somehow bricks (seen a few people being unlucky) critical unlock will enable me to unbrick?

Hello, in my case in December 2021 it was the first time I tried it and it went well, you have to strictly follow the instructions (make sure before you start that you have the correct connection with the PC in my case with W10-64b, the telephone connected, recognized, with ADB mode and "Unlock bootloader" activated and the ADB environment and tools running on the PC) and be patient since unlocking the bootloader with the Unlock Tool has 2 stages (the second I think I remember is the "critical unlock") so you have to let it go to the end. Once the bootloader is unlocked, when you restart the phone you will get a message that will always appear when you restart it, warning you that the bootloader is unlocked. Beware that by doing so the phone will be reset to factory settings and all user data will be lost so make sure to make a backup before. At the end of the unlock process you will also be asked if you want to donate through PayPal any amount of money voluntarily to the developers of the Unlock tool/techmesto. In short, the key is to read the instructions very well and follow them exactly. After the unlocking of the bootloader and the installation of the Treble you can now put any custom ROM. I hope the whole process goes well for you.

Thank you very much for the detailed advice. If I can bother you for one more thing, there's multiple Treble threads/guides on here and some seem (!) outdated or conflicting. Could you maybe point me to one guide/thread you recommend? I have the Nokia 8 TA-1012 here.
I've flashed and rooted maybe half a dozen phones over the years while always just lurking and reading here but in this case, it seems so much riskier and complicated, so I appreciate any and all advice.

This is the only one I tried and it works for me, remember to download the revert firmware too (https://github.com/resident-nokia/t-virus/releases/tag/5150-revert) because it posible you will need it.

No, and OnePlus seems to have no interest in updating its unlock token page since the 9 Pro. I have asked several times and no one in cust. service has any idea what's going on months after release of the NE2217.
I only bought the 10 Pro because I expected to be able to unlock the bootloader, as I did easily with the 8. At this point, I'm looking to sell the 10 Pro.
I upgraded from an unlocked 7 pro. I only got the T-Mobile version because they gave me too good of a deal to pass up. Honestly I'm pretty happy with it stock. There's not much you really need root for anymore unless you're developing. It was a big plus back in the day but not so much anymore.
Does anyone live in USA?, need favor.

it'll depend on when T-Mobile gives the ok. T-Mobile is subsidizing your phone so you need to play by their rules.

Honestly if a service provider is going to tamper with the device, just don't bother with them.
I'm in the UK but the crap I've seen people have with T-Mobile and Verizon is just insane, avoid them like the plague.
I think you'd be better off converting a Chinese phone and that's something I'd avoid more than sleeping on the opposite side of the bed to amber heard.
Go global, unless theres a fool proof way to make it to global.
EE in the UK did this on the Sony z1, I ended up bricking my device, so I sent it back via a third party retailer.
Original - EE.
Retailer - carphone warehouse.
They sent me an unlocked version, with a normal bootloader.
Not sure if that's an option for you. A little convaluted but certainly worked for me.
