did you try looking inside the sbfs? and att's latest release has gallery at 1.1.4000

Goto>Root browser>System>App>Camera>Arm>.odex than copy
Download
Android N http://www.mediafire.com/file/2boc9ob57wltuwo/NotoColorEmoji.ttf
Android O https://www.mediafire.com/file/2boc9ob57wltuwo/NotoColorEmoji.ttf
And using root explorer move the file to root/system/fonts
And overwrite the old one .
I didn't change any permissions and it worked just fine ..
Have a copy of your old emojis file , incase you didn't like the new ones :silly:
Reboot , and maybe maybe ! you would have to delete and reinstall your keyboard ..
72+ new emojis and skin tones ?? ?? ??

I tried a flashable zip for changing font once and it didn't give a proper font even i couldn't change it in this way .. i like this method more ..
Bring the link so if any one would love to flash the emojis ...

Take this test this application LineageOS Gallery, I it am using 4.1.3 OOS Beta 5 (install as normal application). The application is in a file unzip the zip file and install the application's Gallery as a normal apk file.

Can you give the link of older one? For nougat of course. Because all other aosp galleries aren't working on Latest LineageOS
