How did you get that to work?
In the comments someone specifically asked about the UK EE build, and they were told it's not compatible as the device is not part of Multi-CSC OXM?

UK is probably one of the last to get updates. Cant wait so flashed an update.zip and works great

You can download the official offline firmware via Samfirm now, don't have to download update.zip

Download from sammobile or with samfirm app, model sm-n960f csc xsg
With odin v3.13.1 select bl, ap, cp, and HOME_CSC to update!
Note 9 powered off, press volume down and bixby buttons wile plug the usb-c then press volume up when asked, in odin you press start!
If in CSC field you choose the csc only file, the process will factory reset your device, due to pit configuration present on csc only.
HOME_CSC does not contain pit configuration so will only update. Always use odin v3.13.1 or later.

Updating through update.zip via recovery is much better then flashing via Odin.
Last week I tried to downgrade from ark3 to ark2 via Odin and used home-CSC ended up with frp lock had to visit Samsung service centre and they did factory reset and upgraded to ark3. Tried again using Odin and ended up with same result.

Sure, one or two things may get phone in problem:
-downgrade wile frp on and oem on
-use csc file contained in the fw pack
Your problem would be solved by flashing your current FW you had before doing the downgrade. Not mention you doing downgrade without backup info...
I just did my note 9 from ark3 to CSA2 just as i wrote, and many people can confirm, it worked without a problem!

[Q] No Updates From Vodafone (Germany)

Hello everybody,
Since i cant get no updates (2.3.6) soon from my provider (Vodafone Germany), is possible to use one of the official roms or stock roms, and update my Note manually ?
If so, which Rom... ?
can i update to Open Europe ?
I'm on
2.3.5
Version n7000xxkj4
csc n7000vd2kj1
Thanks
of course you can.
check this thread
or do the following:
download XLA4 latest firmware europe and extract to a folder
download odin 1.85
Password : samfirmware.com
download and install kies for samsung
turn off your note, then press and hold volume down key+menu+power
a menu appears, choose continue (volume up i think)
open odin, plug in your note via usb to computer. you should see a yellow line COM:# connected
If your downloaded ROM contains single file
go to odin, browse the folder you extracted the files to and
Choose PDA button in Odin and press start
if more items then
CODE in PDA, MODEM in PHONE, Multi CSC in CSC and press start
good luck
Thank u... i will try it!

and double check "Re-partition" , it should be un-ticked. and do not select any pit files while flashing.
Just one more question... if i want my phone rooted, should i first root it? I mean before i apply the upgrade.

Yes. you have to root it first. because latest firmwares are not directly rootable. just go through this link you can find which firmwares are rootable directly.

Question.... how do i know if im still rooted?
And Kies is telling me that :
If you updated through odin or kies then you lost root. If you upgraded through mobile odin pro then you should still be rooted.

Kies is telling you that because there is a CSC code mismatch between the ROM you are running and what is on your device. You can change the CSC code by typing the following in the dialer: *#272*IMEI# where IMEI is your phone's IMEI number. I suggest choosing DBT since that is the unlocked Germany CSC and seems to get the most frequent updates. I changed my XEN (Netherlands) Note to a DBT one last week and it worked fine.
Changing the CSC will factory reset your Note, so back up your data first.

[Q] Temporary Unroot/Latest Update

Hey guys,
quick question. I rooted the note 4 on firmware version (NIH) and now I want to have the latest firmware (NJ7).
I'm downloading the latest firmware from samsung (NJ7) and I wanted to know if anyone knows this:
IF I flash the latest firmware NJ7 over my rooted NIH via ODIN, would that be bad? I know you're not supposed to take OTA updates while rooted, so I guess I'm asking if flashing in ODIN with full latest firmware (1.6gigs) is the same as taking the OTA update (65ish MBs).
I know that chainfire superSU also has temporary unroot option, which might work to just take the OTA update...right?
OR I can reflash the NJ7 firmware, take the OTA, reroot, and then reload app/data via Titanium....
I guess I'm wondering what I should do.
Thanks in advance!
actually I got it to work.
all I did was unroot via SuperSU and installed the update via KEIS.
Just make sure you're unrooted and update through KEIS. After KEIS is done, it'll tell you to restart and unplug/replug the cable but for me KEIS stopped working, but my phone was already upgraded. So I just force closed the program on my phone.
theres actually a update out for it and can be done via odin

Restore CSC with Odin?

I was rooted on AOE, but decided to Odin back to stock to update to AO2. The update downloads, but fails to install at 25%.
The phone works fine, and data works, but would like to update. I used an app called Phone Info *Samsung* to find that in the CSC part, Firmware's CSC Code, CSC Country and CSC Country ISO is empty. The other fields do have something in them.
Can I just Odin the CSC_ATT tar.md5 file via the CSC box? or are there settings or anything that I might need to change before I can do that?
Thank you in advance!
Download the stock firmware for your device and flash all 4 files that you will find inside that file all at once.
BTW if your S6 is from AT&T the versions are NOT AOE nor AO2. They are OCE and OE2.

Yes, those are my versions, sorry about the confusion!
Can I flash all 4 without the risk of tripping Knox? I'm concerned about flashing the bootloader in particular.
Thanks again for your help.
Flash all 4 files at once, not individually. Bootloader is locked so no flashing for it.

No OTA Updates thru ATT

I have not gotten a single OTA update for a long while, stuck on February 19 security update. Called both ATT and Samsung and they were not successful at pushing updates to my phone. Anyway to fix this?
Assuming you have att&t and are in the US, you can flash one of the recent updates posted from here through Odin. Flash the latest one if you want to be done, or flash an update one or two updates old to verify if you get OTA'S after flashing.
Use home_csc to keep data when flashing through Odin.

I had the same issue in all my AT&T phones.
Below is my link used on my Note 9 AT&T, I've updated it the past month and all is working OK for me. I hope it can help you.

Stuck on Android 9

I have a Samsung note 9 SM-N96OU through AT&T that will not update. I have called AT&T and Samsung and they tell me they don't know what is wrong. My only option is to mail it to the company and see if they can fix it. I go to settings and check for an update but it says that there is no update available that the phone is up to date. I've tried a factory reset, and tried using smart switch and changing the date. But still I'm on android 9 and 1.0 UI. Is there anything else I can do to update and possibly make future Updates take place as usual.
Is AT&T your phone service? Or are you on another carrier?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
Yes AT&T is my carrier
Don't send your phone in. Just update to current firmware using odin.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
I was going to try that but have no idea how to go about it.
Google Frija...its much faster than Sammobile. Install Frija on your computer. Once done enter the correct information in Frija for the device you have. You will have to enter USC as At&t does not post their firmware. All the firmware is the same and it will provision to your At&t sim. Frija will give you the latest firmware. Make sure you have the correct version of odin which is 3.14.4 I believe. After you download the firmware from Frija extract it leaving you with BL..AP..CP..CSC..HOME_CSC
Once you have it extracted open odin..power off device..boot into download mode. Connect device to computer odin will recognize your device. In odin put BL in BL spot..AP in AP spot...Cp...and csc. Click start and odin will install the firmware.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Have you been able to figure it out? I've never actually done the process of using Frija, but I used Odin plenty of times on my old phones (DROID RAZR MAXX and Note 4), not my Note 9.
XDA in general isn't much help for "noobs", which no offense, I assume you are. I've been there. Take a look at this site, hope it helps.
https://www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/fyvfkg/quick_guide_to_update_your_firmware_using_frija/
Frija is where you download the firmware from. Its very easy and much faster than Sammobile. Download it..unzip on computer and flash the files in Odin. Those are the directions I just gave.

another thought....
how long have you had the phone?
&
How have you had that Sim Card?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
I will try to use frija with Odin. As for the software version it says Android version 9 baseband version SM-N96OUSQU1CSAA I've had the phone since March and Samsung that the warranty is has expired. The sim card is trough att that's who the phone plan is through.
The firmware you need is N960USQS5ETH1, This is the current firmware for At&t. As I said once you download it, you have to extract it. The files you will have will be AP..BL..CP..CSC..HOME_CSC
When you open Odin version 3.14.4 you will see spots for the files i just mentioned. Just put each one in correct spot. Since you said earlier that you have already done a factory wipe don't worry about home_csc. That file keeps your data. But if you do want to keep data, use the home csc in csc spot in Odin. But if you just use csc it will wipe device

Yeah just go to the link I gave you, hopefully it's dumbed down enough for anyone to understand.
It sounds like when you open up Frija, the model you would choose is SM-N960U and the CSC would be ATT. Leave it on Auto, hit Check update, then Download it. I wouldn't know what to do without referencing that link I posted. Just be sure you read Step 6d/6d(i) carefully, as it details which files to load depending on if you want to wipe or preserve the data on your phone.
Actually, after downloading the image for my own phone, which is the same as yours, except the T-mobile variant, I see that there are 6 files in the zip. The guide I linked you two uses only four, whereas you choose between the files which the names begin with CSC (wipe everything) or HOME_CSC (Saves your user data). It doesn't appear that the USERDATA file is not used in the process, according to the steps made in the link I posted on this thread earlier.
Wrong....At&t does not post firmware on Frija. All the Snapdragon firmware is essentially the same. The firmware will provision to the At&t sim. He could use USC..TMO..CCT
