Kali Linux Nethunter v1.0 [Kali v2.0 / Backtrack 5] [osprey]

The Kali NetHunter is an Android ROM overlay that includes a robust Mobile Penetration Testing Platform. The overlay includes a custom kernel, a Kali Linux chroot, and an accompanying Android application, which allows for easier interaction with various security tools and attacks. Beyond the penetration testing tools arsenal within Kali Linux, NetHunter also supports several additional classes, such as HID Keyboard Attacks, BadUSB attacks, Evil AP MANA attacks, and much more. INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT NOTE: Kali NetHunter is NOT an Android ROM, but it is an overlay ( you have to flash it above android).
The builds currently provided are to be used on Nougat based custom ROMs ONLY. (which use the LineageOS kernel)
Installing it on a ROM which uses the LineageOS 14.1 kernel. (examples include all of our N custom ROMs like Lineage, AEX, AICP, AOKP, DU ) :
1. Make sure you are running the latest available build of the ROM you have installed.
2. Reboot to TWRP.
3. Make sure you backup Boot, System and Data partitions, just incase you want to remove Kali, you can restore it.
3. Wipe Cache and ART Cache (Formerly known as Dalvik Cache). Do NOT wipe your data partition.
4. Install the zip file.
5. Reboot to System.
POST INSTALLATION:
1. Open the NetHunter App and start the Kali Chroot Manager.
2. You might want to download the real packages which might be around 400-500 MB in size.
3. Set up Hacker Keyboard.
4. Configure Kali Services, such as SSH.
5. Set up custom commands.
6. Initialize the Exploit Database.

thanks for bringing nethunter for osprey but it has many bugs . Almost all the apps (nethunter app) force close when i open them..

Yup, I can confirm this, most apps force closes.

There is absolutely no problem here. I'm running Lineage OS 14.1 with Open GApps and this Kali Linux package. Installed chroot perfectly, I'm even running VNC server. The only thing that doesn't work is hacking Wi-Fi networks with a USB adapter but that's because the Kali Kernel still hasn't been ported yet. My device is Osprey XT1541 (2GB RAM and 16 GB of storage). I even posted some screenshots there:
I just have to say, if you reboot your phone and Nethunter Terminal keeps crashing, don't worry. Just wait 2-5 minutes and everything is going to be OK. If it still doesn't work, try opening Terminal Emulator and type in "bootkali". If that doesn't work too, try installing BusyBox from the Play Store.

I almost did everything like installing busy box in the xbin directory and trying to bootkali from the local terminal

This TWRP build has special function Sign boot which you have to click after install new version of ROM or mod like Magisk. It will append stock boot signature to your boot partition. This allows to boot with locked bootloader.

Fortunately you dont need to unlock bootloader, because not every Lenovo tab can be unlocked. Custom kernel and ROM can be runned by appending boot.sig signature extracted from stock rom to boot.img like

One bug I found on LOS 14.1, please look at topic from LOS 14.1, and you will see.

Hotspot doesn't work. I can turn it on but my computer and phone don't see the network; if I turn it on-off-on it causes the tablet to crash into a soft restart. It will then show 'Error'. There is no 5GHZ option when creating a hotspot. I posted this in the other thread aswell.
System/Buttons/Show arrow keys while typing doesn't work in landscape mode. They will appear in the middle of the navigation bar on top of the circle and will make the nav bar unusable.
I don't know if this is a feature, but in landscape mode if I swipe from the right end of the screen towards the center the status bar drops down.

sign boot from twrp

lineage 15.1 for lenovo yoga tab 3 plus please

I finally install Lineage OS in My Tablet. I try to install gapps version 8.1.0 ARM 64 from opengapps and then sign the boot partition after flash the gapps. System boots normally but gapps crashes constantly. Any gapps working? Or any information about how to install correctly gapps. Thanks.

I just Wipe Data and then sign boot again. Then I configure my device and Now is Working with the Whole Google Apps and is now Android 8.1.0. Thanks for the developer for the Rom

I've had exactly same experience with gapps crashing (MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm64-20180223_195845.zip) as maikalex96 above. Wipe fixed the problem. Not feeling adventurous enough to try Open gapps yet.
good:
usual stuff works
WiFi 5GHz works
WiDi / Miracast, Chromecast works
Apk installations/updates are lightning fast compared to 6.0.1 stock
not so good:
bluetooth (albeit disabled) drains battery like crazy in standby - either that or andriod battery stats are not working right (WLAN, display items are not even listed)
no Dolby Atmos in LOS
some useful features removed in Oreo (google seem to be dumbing the system down) - no more WiFi band option (2.4/5), no more WiFi in standby option (on, off, charger on)
not a fan of some Oreo or LOS aesthetics
sound is not routed back to speakers after disconnecting headphones (not always)
not sure about performance, stock 6.0.1 might be a tad more responsive (touch, scrolling)

So I just realised I hadn't updated TWRP to the new boot-signed version.
It won't let me do flash that via fastboot as it says " FAILED (remote: Partition flashing is not allowed " - I assume this is because my bootloader is not unlocked.
I did try using 'fasboot oem unlock" but that does not work.
I tried to use QFIL to flash the updated TWRP but it won't recognise the device on any port as obviously it is not going into stock recovery when - it is going into TWRP...
Any other ideas?
Any help is most appreciated - many thanks in advance.

Hey there, great ROM! Everything works good here. I only have one question, not directly about the ROM itself... but does anyone know if there is a version of the LOS 14.1 Trebuchet Launcher for using under LOS 15.1 ? I realy hate that new Launcher!

1. TWRP Backup your ROM
2. Flash Nethunter Kernel
3. Flash latest Magisk
4. Install busybox can be one from Magisk repository
5. Install Magisk Nethunter module from repository it have all apps which are needed to get fully working Nethunter (Another version of Nethunter apk link)
6. Install kalifs-armhf-*.tar.xz by Nethunter manager
7. Extract Nethunter_Binaries.7z and binaries to folders:
Firmwares: system/etc/firmware and give permissions to every file rw-r--r--
hid-keyboard binary: system/xbin/ and give permissions to it rwxr-xr-x
8. Reboot
Loadable modules:
Modules_Nethunter_WirusMOD_v1.7.7z extract only modules for your version of kernel.
In every kernel folder are modules and firmware. You need only modules which you want to use.
For example if you don't want use tuners and dvb-frontends. Don't load modules from /modules/drivers/media tuners and dvb-frontends
In firmware are compiled firmwares for some of modules to use they you need to copy they to system/etc/firmware.
basic commands:
insmod 88XXau.ko - load module
rmmod 88XXau.ko - unload module
lsmod - list loaded modules
Some modules depend on another modules. If you want load rt2800usb.ko, you need first load rt2800lib.ko.
Another way to load modules is Module Loader
Copy modules to storage and choose modules which you want to load (load they more than 1 times, this apk load modules from up to down it don't look at dependence from modules)
Extra:
In Utilities.7z are wifi testing tools binaries like aircrack-ng(Not needed for Nethunter only for test tools direct from android without Nethunter)
DriveDroid without bugs made by disabling HID Patch:
To disable HID Patch: use this command in terminal: "echo Y > /sys/module/g_android/parameters/hid_disable"
Changing mode isn't instant after changing module status. Use DriveDroid (mount iso -> dismount) to active hid_disable.
To enable HID Patch: "echo N > /sys/module/g_android/parameters/hid_disable" and use DriveDroid like with disabling HID Patch.
HIDPatchSwitch this is simple script which can switch between HID enabled and disabled and show changed status.

Fixes: rt2800,rt5370 usb wifi adapter injection may not work when you use the adapter first time. Fix: First enable monitor mode and test injection.you may see injection not working.Now run wifite and then check again the injection(aireplay-ng -9 wlan2). This time injection should work.
Some Tips: You will see most of the wifi adapter as wlan1 when you run airmon-ng in kali Terminal.Use this command instead of custom command to enable monitor mode and test injection.Screenshots are added for better understanding.
1.To enable Monitor Mode: airmon-ng start wlan1
2.To check injection: aireplay-ng -9 wlan1mon or aireplay-ng -9 wlan1
If you see an external adapter as wlan2,just replace the wlan1 with wlan2 in above commands.

Try the A10 version. It works on corvus a10 .Updated it.previous one was for A11.

​What? Why are you making 2 different thread on the same ROM?
No, this is different. this rom is based completely on SM-A9200 firmware, which is completely different with SM-A920F Firmware (in terms of features subset and restrictions).
And i also put experimental patches in here before putting the patch to StockOptimized.
So, if you want a stable experience, go to StockOptimized, else, if you feel adventurous, try this rom instread.

Notes before install
Make sure you installed latest TWRP/OrangeFox/SkyHawk Recovery in here. I'm using OrangeFox recovery for this guide. AND make sure you have OEM Unlock, Unlocked on Developer Options.
If you installed custom recovery for the first time, instead : Click Wipe > Format Data > Type Yes > TWRP Main Menu > Reboot > Recovery.
If you use TWRP & want to install Magisk, Reboot > Recovery first, then flash magisk as usual.
If you are updating/installing apps that big in size, you might gonna get kicked out from secure folder. Just wait until the installer done and everything will go back to normal.
Do not update the Clock App, Samsung Calendar and Samsung Reminder.
SamsungPass is not working on this rom. if you found the patch, tag me immediately at the group.
Magisk app says magisk not installed even tho you flashed magisk? just reboot and boom, magisk is back.
AppLock may got disabled depends on your region.
Read more about microG in here. also the location backend in here.
Installation
Download the rom and also magisk if you wanted to, on your PC.
Reboot the phone to recovery.
Click Wipe > Tick Dalvik, System, Data, Cache > And swipe to wipe.
Transfer the rom and also magisk if you wanted to, from your PC to the phone.
Find the rom you just transfered > click it > Swipe to confirm flash > and wait until it's done. Magisk too if you wanted to.
Go back to OrangeFox 3-stripe Menu > Reboot > System.
Let the ROM boot until SetupWizard appear.
Post-Installation
You might want to skip this, but i recommend you to do so:
Install magisk after installing the rom.
Install magisk app, Turn on Zygisk and add deny list to these apps:
Samsung Checkout (com.sec.android.app.billing)
Set mount namespace mode to "Isolated Namespace"
Also install safetynet-fix, Shamiko module. LSPosed too if you wanted to.
Reboot the phone.
Now you have 2 options, go using GApps magisk module that i prepared or microG installer revived magisk module.
If you're using microG, and you want to use play store, use Nanolx patched play store. and since the apk signature verification is disabled on this rom, you can just do a normal APK install on the app and it gonna be installed.
If you're using microG, my recommendation for location backend is Apple backend.
You can also install FireFds on LSPosed to extend the customization in the ROM. You need LSPosed for that though.
