Sell it and buy a dual SIM
Samsung s9 note SM-N960N ? Dual sim.
I bought 1 in HK. It has the Korean KT logo at start up. Literature says dual sim. But phone has a different sim tray where it is not possible to fit a second sim in sd slot.
I have tried getting info from Samsung, but I might just as well have tried booking a trip to the moon.
So anyone know about this or where to buy the right sim tray and experiment with second sim card
Thanks

Have you tried turning the SIM 90 degrees to fit in the MicroSD card slot in the tray?
Thanks for suggestion

If you look at pictures of a tray with 2 sim cards, they both have the same orientation so contacts on board should be in this position.
Also rotating 90 degrees does not provide a proper seat for the sim card

Hi guys. has anyone tried a dual sim card tray in the single sim version of the Note 9?
In my single sim huawei mate 9, i flashed to europe firmware and bought a dual sim card tray and now its a proper dual sim phone. as i havent loaded the dual sim firmware i cannot set which is my primary sim unless i stick the primary sim into the main tray place. But it works..
There are some videos on the youtube. I don't know is these are fraud or not. Who has the knowledge about the mainboard differences ?
Since i can not post any links due to new member thing, there is the video ids.

Yes, and Dr.Ketan's rom is one of them which supports N960N, N960F, N960FD/S. I have N960N which was single sim on stock android 10, then i flashed the rom and i got 2 imei and dual sim capability .

Hi all,
I've signed up for a note 9 plan since my new job allows allowance for work mobile. However the sim tray is not hybrid at all(the second sim slot can only for micro sd card) . I've managed to cut the SIM so that it fits into the second slot, however unable to get this to work.
The SIM works fine if it's plugged into sim 1 slot. Has anyone got any solutions to this? Any input would be appreciated

Sounds like you device is of the single-SIM variety.
Even if you bought a dual-SIM Tray to use,it will be of no benefit, you have a single-SIM phone.
Flashing firmware that works on known dual SIM phones will not do it either, many have tried various things, the functionality simply isn't there (presumably a hardware issue,it's simply not there).
FWIW,I tried a dual-SIM Tray on my US (T-Mobile Note 9),& nada. I knew what to expect going in,but, had to quash the slight bit of false hope.
The Exynos single SIM Note 9's are the same.

That's quite disappointing, it was one of the reasons why I got Samsung phone after all..
All of Samsung's Webpage indicates that all note 9s are capable of dual SIM functionality. I guess I should have double checked with Telco to see if they have locked the Dual SIM functionality..
Appreciate your input tho man. Cheers

I've never seen anything stating all Note 9's are capable of Dual-SIM functionality, but, I'm in the US, where Dual-SIM phones are the exception vs the single SIM variety.
The only phone that I'm aware of that has Dual-SIM capabilities, but, ships with both Single-Sim and Dual-SIM firmwares is the OnePlus 6T.
You could try a Dual-SIM tray & flashing a SIM-Free firmware that's known to work on Dual-SIM phones to find out with certainty.
The trays are cheap enough, I got mine from eBay for less than $10 USD.
I hope I'm proven wrong, but honesty, I'd keep my expectations low.
Please keep us posted on your outcome.
i have s21 ultra Australian version it will not recognize sim 2 slot i bought a dual sim tray is there a way make the phone recognize it or is the hardware different in European versions

It is supposed to be an Exynos and they usually are Dual sim. However, I have encountered Korean exynos phones with only one sim card. Thus, you need to provide more information so we can give you a more definitive answer...

I doubt it bud... Even if the hardware would support it by having the sim tray capability, the software would have to be specifically adjusted for the situation. And seeing how small the alternative development is for the s21 Ultra, I doubt it will get to the point of significant progress..
Some time ago I had gotten a Note 9 from a friend, and since I had an S9+, I thought the note 9 would be a nice upgrade. Only to realize that since it is a Korean Note 9, it only supported 1 SIM. I seeked the internet quite a bit and found nothing relevant. I also asked around the forums but to no avail. Gave the Note to the wife, it replaced her 1 sim S7, so everyone is happy hahaha
If you do find a solution eventually, do remember to write it here, it may surely help others with the same issue as you.
Good luck!
The first step is to check if physically there are 2 sets of contractors to read 2 sim cards but that means to open the phone. Software shouldn't be an issue it handles 2 physical sim in other variants
I bought a dual-sim tray for my S21 Ultra US version - I can confirm that at least the tray fits It wouldn't read my SafariCom sim though :-/
Not sure what model the Australian S21 are but if it ends with the letter B(G998B) then you can try switching the CSC to XTC and try again.
While there's only 1 sim card originally it should still have 2 IMEI numbers because of the e-SIM so logically switching CSCs should work.

SM-G998B is a Single Physical SIM variant with e-Sim. The SM-G998B/DS has Dual Physical SIM's so based on what you've shared the answer is no.
Does the Australian version have any differences?
I believe only the Chinese variant supports two physical dual sims.

The Indian version supports dual physical SIMs too. I'm using them on mine.
I bought mine in Spain and is a SM-G998B/DS and I am using 2 physical Sim cards, both working.

Indeed. For some reason I thought he wanted a physical dual sim snapdragon variant.
So, I was gifted a brand new Samsung S20 FE 5G - unlocked but they did not know I still need my old sim to run some banking apps (so - need two sims running). The model number of the phone is SM-G781W which is a single sim model for Canada.
One of my network providers has e-Sim support. So, is it possible to flash the dual network firmware on this S20 FE?
Any comments?
Edit:
The sim tray has some 'ridges' in so as to not allow placing a second sim. May be a simple sim tray swap might work?
try looking on eBay for a sim tray. maybe you can flash unlocked US firmware, but don't get your hopes too high.
have Canadian firmware ready if needed.

What if I try the global dual sim version's firmware?
Edit: Thanks for the reply by the way! Appreciate it.
I would try U or U1 firmware (can't remember which is the unlocked one) over the international versions. the B firmware is more likely to have frequency differences.
Any luck with this project? I assume it would be possible, I peered into the SIM/SD slot and think I saw the hardware for the the second SIM above the SD hardware.
Also interested to know if this worked?
I also have the SM-G981W Canadian Variant. I just bought it yesterday, knowing that it had a faulty SIM reader slot that can only be replaced by taking apart the phone and resoldering. My newest phone prior to this one is a Galaxy S8, so I didn't know a lot about eSIM and had assumed I could just use eSIM and assumed very, very wrong.
I'm also wondering if I can flash international firmware to enable eSIM (I have no SIM card manager).

I don`t think You need other firmware. If the software detects esim it will just start to appear.
Hi,
I just bought a oneplus 10 pro NE2215 and I am surprised to see a dual sim connector, but no dual sim card tray....
Is it possible to upgrade to the EU version (NE2213) to activate the software part and buy the sim card tray? In order to use two sim cards on the phone.
Thanks in advance.
no
If you need dual-SIM in the US you may be better off with a Pixel 6/7 series device if you can live with one physical SIM and one eSIM.

No, there's no actual 2nd modem inside. Just the connector.
