Sprint LS991 ZVI root - Sprint LG G4

I have a feeling I know the answer to this based upon reading all of the threads in here but in the off chance that I missed something I'm going to ask anyway...
Is there a solution for rooting the ZVI firmware on the LS991? I bought two replacement phones for testing at work and found out there are on ZVI not ZV6 like I needed.
Thanks...

ZVI has ARB has higher then 2 so no unlock .
ZVI is MM and there is no exploit for MM available .
So nope.

Thanks for confirming this... Damn Sprint.

Some phones can be rooted without bootloader unlock. So locked bootloader does not necessarily mean that it can't be rooted. But I guess there is no known exploit to root LG G4 LS991 on ZVI?

Yeah, I just spent the past 3 days looking into rooting my new S6.
I got it barely a week ago and I was really excited to finally have a phone I could root, only to learn that I got the first new phone that you can't. I might have had a chance to keep 5.0.2? Whatever, but by the time I synced by Google account, I found out I had the 5.1.1 version, with no way to go back.
More experienced users, please correct me here. I am largely posting this to consolidate what I've gathered.
As I understand it, 5.1.1 prevents a clean downgrade to any other Android OS by just not allowing the option.
When I went to turn off automatic software updates, I was faced with an option to check for updates, or go "take a hike" per se. It seems like you may be able to flash a version that can be rooted for the AT&T version (G920A), but you trip the KNOX security thing which will void your warranty. From what I can see, a lot of people are just deciding to go without root, or go without the phone. I have seen a thread or 2 (out of DOZENS on this) that say methods may be in the works, but everyone seems too afraid to try anything.
Keep in mind that I say methods for a reason. Nothing seems to be cut and dry for us as AT&T users to begin with, but this 5.1.1 update when downloaded OTA and all legit and whatnot is a real death sentence for those looking to root.
I'm keeping my eyes and ears open for news, but we're going to have a while to wait before we get to join the fun.

Once you've taken the 5.1.1 OTA update on either the G925A or the G920A that's it there's no downgrading or going back.

Not sure how this can be made any more clear. We have a thorough and two very simple explanations on the entire one page of this thread so far. I'm not trying to police it, but when I get updates for the thread, I'm hoping for something a little bit beyond the already answered questions yo.
I can only imagine devs are working on a miracle of sorts to change this fact, but it remains a fact until some magic solution is both discovered AND verified as far as I'm concerned.
jinishpv, I think you mean you compiled the .img file to Windows..? If so, MagicISO is a Windows app you can use to add, delete, extract or update files contained in an .img file. I hear what all of you are saying about 5.1.1 bootloader, and yes I'm in the same boat w/ safestrap rooted still on 5.02 of4, but jinishpv asked a tangent question and I didn't think it would hurt to help a fellow xda member out.
Any updates on this besides the private root being sold all over the web for $100-$120 each or $30 -$40 for remote unlock for G920A, G925A, G928A and G890A?
The good news thatotherguy.. found a way to root s6 and s6 edge. the bad news it is unstable. He's working on it with other devs. I'm assuming he/they will release it after the release after GS7 (to check if GS7 is vulnerable too?)
My G920A is working fine so far rooted on 5.1.1 OJ7 (yes I paid $40 for remote unlock LOL).

And if so where did you buy a "remote unlock" to unlock the bootloader.

[ROM] MM 20i Stock & Debloated ROM's + Global MM 20e Stock Rom's

Here are some stock Marshmallow ROM's for T-Mobile H811 LG G4.
Thanks to Autoprime and xTEE for their respective KDZ's and Chainfire for his SuperSU root.
20i=T-Mobile USA
20e=Europe Global
Global rom is NOT sim unlocked. Only T-Mobile can sim unlock your phone.
Prerequisites:
**Must be on MM and OEM Unlocked per Autoprime's method found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/stock-h811-20i-images-kdz-flashable-t3308227
**Must be on H811 G4 or you will brick flashing to wrong partition. You've been warned.
Flash from TWRP.
Downloads:
G4-H811-MM-20i-Stock-Rooted.zip
G4-H811-MM-20i-Stock-Debloated-Rooted.zip
MM-20e-GLOBAL-ROM.zip (Ported to work ONLY on H811)
Thanks for the brilliant job you do. I have a question that might be considered stupid, but I'll take the risk. I bought my G4 a few weeks ago, from a random bloke and out of the USA, and now it turned out to be SIM locked. Would this ROM somehow help? Thank you again.
What's different between 20e and 20i?

Is there any safe way to downgrade back to lollipop after flashing this?
I would flash it over the 10N bootstack but I haven't gotten a definitive answer as to whether MM will work with the 10N bootstack.

That doesn't actually answer the question because that much is known...

Not sure what answer your looking for here. lol One is stock T-Mobile USA ROM. The other Global is made for people in Europe, but I made it to work on the H811. That is the difference, nothing more, nothing less. lol
Some people like to use the Global ROM to be free of anything T-Mobile related. Its just another alternative.

I believe the difference is that 20i was altered by tmobile to their specifications and then pushed out to the 811s. 20e is untouched by tmobile and was intended for the European 815 models. Micromod got 20e running for the 811s incase people didn't want something that came from a carrier (spyware, bloat, featureset etc). Both versions should essentially run the same.. Same core features same ui same camera etc.

I believe you need to upgrade to 20i first, before flashing this rom. You need the stock firmware which you can obtain through the autoprime thread and then install TWRP and flash MicroMod's rom and everything should be running smoothly. If you run into any issues just search in the autoprime thread as most people have had similar problems and resolved it. Goodluck!
Is there a chance of losing sim unlock? I bought an unlock service from eBay, I'd hate to re flash a locked boot stack lol
It says the rom is rooted yet it doesn't seem to be. What's the best way to root this rom, flash supersu?

@mrbox23 There should be NO chance of losing SIM unlock, if you do somehow I would contact your seller and tell them you upgraded to MM and in doing so you lost it. 2 things - 1. you shouldn't have so their system is flawed and they should appreciate knowing it if they are at all reputable, and 2. you shouldn't have so they should be willing to do it again for free. However if you are at all worried about them, and you've already left feedback to the positive, I would contact them first and see what they say their policy is. at least then you know what your risks are.
Is there a list of what is exactly "debloated"

Even if it is unlocked with the MM update I may take a pass on it. As with the Lollipop upgrade the first reviews I've seen have not been positive.
I doubt it will be locked. None of the international S6 were...
But, believe me, once the update hits "someone" will tell you.
BL still unlocked.

ZVI tot now available

File works fine in LGUP. Don't ask me how to install or use it - there's plenty of that already on the forums.
If you use this to upgrade from a lower version, you may get hard bricked if you attempt to then downgrade again in the future. I know for a fact that you cannot downgrade past ZVD, but I do not know if they also incremented the bootloader in any versions between ZVD and ZVI. So I would only recommend upgrading if you know for a fact that you will never want to downgrade. And maybe someone else will be able to chime in on whether you can downgrade from this version.
Happy flashing!

If anyone wants just the system.img (for making custom ROMs or extracting bits and pieces), you can find it here. It's untested as I don't own a G4 anymore, but at the very least, don't flash it if you're not already on ZVI.
For anyone who wants to extract the system.img themselves, just download and compile LGBinExtractor, point it towards your TOT, confirm that it's a valid TOT, accept all the prompts, and wait. The tool doesn't fully recognize G4 TOTs and won't automatically name the dumped partitions, but the system.img is usually the largest (around 4.3GiB) and last one dumped.
Oh man I wish I knew how to use the img file to update mellowmallow! I hate that I'm stuck using an older ROM just because I want to keep wifi tether option! I see no way to maintain the free wifi tether hack if I upgrade to ZVI, if anyone knows a way?

Didn't someone post that they were able to do use the LG G5 sprint unlock method posted ..........for their LG G4 sprint on ZVD ? They said it worked until they took an update.
I know ZVF can be downgraded to ZVD. So if ZVI can be downgraded to ZVD (not sure), then maybe that is a possible working unlock with ability to edit/add apn.
So the first question is if ZVI can be downgraded to ZVD.

There is a very tiny chance that your LG G4 is somehow running an older version of the software, which is the only way to root (the later software versions, after you accept the software updates, cannot be rooted). Have you ever updated the operating system? Which version of the system are you running?

Thank you for some response. I have never updated the OS, but it's on ZVG. My friend gave it to me like that. It currently doesn't have any service connected to it. There's an update pending for it right now, but if I try to update it through WiFi it doesn't install the update, I'm thinking because there's no service to it anymore. I have noticed that you have to downgrade the OS. I have no clue how to do any of this.

The problem with UsU is it requires an earlier version of the firmware, I think ZVA or earlier? I think the guy here has already upgraded past that version (ZVB or later). I'm wondering if one day UsU will let you unlock devices that have been updated beyond ZVA?
